nitrus that will feel so great, wishing you lots of weightloss fairy dust!! Pnkrckpixi I thought I was 5'3" through high school but I gained an inch last year at 26 lol |
Hi Wonderful people,
Good job Everyone!!! Im a little dissapointed. My scale just fluctuates between 160.8 and 161.3 and it does not really stop. I weighed myself 3 times. The scale was a bit at ease with 160.8 but i gained. :( Im not sure. Am i not eating right? Or do I need some more patients :( Start Weight: 161.3 Goal Weight: 125 9/3: 161.3 9/4: 160.5 9/5: 160.8 or maybe 161 again.:?: |
Down 1 lb today... 2 more to go before I reach my low of 116 :)
Tuscany: You're right, at least there's no gain! Hope the scale moved in the right direction for you today! Jacqui_D: That darn whoosh fairy had better worked her magic on you (and Tuscany) yesterday! Btw ladies, I had an extra 2 glasses of water yesterday, maybe that helped in my 1 lb loss. Will drink the same today and monitor... Angelique32: My scale gives me different numbers sometimes so I always weigh a few times then settle on the number that comes up the most. Seems like everyone's doing great! Let's keep up the good work! |
Only three more days until I leave for Europe…can’t wait! As promised, I finally got around to posting pictures in the mini-goal forum. The pics were taken by me with my blackberry, so they’re a little fuzzy, but they’ll have to do. My daughter is an amateur photographer, and I’ll get her to take some better pictures when I’m in Italy and the U.K. I’m so excited to see her again! As for my weight, I’m moving in the wrong direction this morning… hopefully that will reverse shortly:
SW (A31): 147.75 S1: 148.00 (+0.25) S2: 148.00 (0.00) S3: 146.75 (-1.25) S4: 146.75 (0.00) S5: 147.75 (+1.00) GW (S30): 144.00 Turtle: Glad to see you’re almost back to your SW. I’m really looking forward to my trip. I know we’ll do lots of walking, and I hope that will compensate for the few extra calories I might consume upon occasion. Jacqui: I hope you get back to 195 soon. As for height, I was 5’ 7” in high school. I measured myself a few months ago, only to discover I’d shrunk, all the way down to 5’ 5”. Stay Puft: Great month so far…keep up the good work! Joy: Along with the aunts, uncles, grandparents and all those “once removed”… cheeriloos: 2 lbs so far this month…great progress! Pixi: Thanks for asking about my trip. I can’t wait to see my daughter and her fiancé again. Just a few more days! Leah: Yes, it’s amazing how much water affects our weight. Tray: Your numbers will be going down once again very soon. Sum: You’re doing really well this month…way to get back on track! chunkie: Another loss…that’s terrific. I’m very happy for you. seaurchin: Maintaining through the holidays is better than gaining. Emme: It always takes me a few days to get over the hunger associated with cutting calories, but it’s not too bad once those initial few days pass. These days, whenever I feel hungry but know I shouldn’t eat, I grab my water and drink instead, which helps to keep my tummy happy. Tavvy: 4 lbs down already…that’s wonderful! Rheko: Instead of thinking “If I hadn’t stopped, I would have been”, it’s much more fun to think: “If I keep going, I soon will be….” :) Angelique: If your scale is fluctuating, it might need new batteries. In addition, when you weigh daily, you’re going to find that some days you lose and some days you gain. The gains are just fluctuations in water weight. Our body retains water for all sorts of different reasons…here are some examples: (1) eating foods high in sodium (which would include low calorie things such as soup); (2) beginning a new exercise program that makes us feel sore…the body retains water to help repair our muscles; (3) it’s humid outside, which will also cause water retention; (4) not drinking enough fluids, which will cause our body to retain water to compensate; (5) hormones and/or your menstrual cycle, which can cause large fluctuations in water retention; and, (6) all sorts of other reasons! So, if you’re going to weigh daily, you need to ignore the daily fluctuations and concentrate on the overall trends. So far, in only two days, you have lost a half pound, and that’s great! mjmelwel: Welcome and good luck with your September goal! nitrus: Welcome and good luck reaching ONEderland! |
Sum - thats awesome, you're going to have to get into a bonus round goal
cheeriloss - you are totally killing that scale. Emme - Awesome job, I've actually found that if I can differentiate hunger from needing food, and tell myself it is just the fat screaming, I stay on track. (you don't want to be toooo hungry!!) tavvy - I WISH i didn't like baked goods. Growing up the family had a bakery, so I guess it runs in the family. Luckily my mother made some good decisions and said my dad couldn't bring his work home, so we were all pretty healthy. jacqui - These setpoints are killing us!! I'm stuck on the 6 too!! Hopefully today you went down :) Pixi - I try not to keep baked goods in the house either in the house either. You are so right about the water. I sometimes have to remind myself to drink more. Angeliquie - I'm sure its water weight, you'll probably get a whoosh in a few days. chunkie - congrats on the 1 lb!!! Thats has to be really hard when you are closer to goal. Tuscany - You might hit goal before you even leave :) I'm definately not going to measure my height, because I'm probably closer to 5 5.5" and that would lower my normal BMI that I want to get to. Southern AWESOME JOB on meeting all your fitbit goals! I hope it becomes a new trend and helps with the scale.
angelique I agree that the scale may need new batteries. As to the fluctuation up, Don't stress about it! Unless you ate you maintenance cals AND an additional 1000-3500 (depending on which number is right) there is no possible way that you gained weight. As Tuscany said, there are many reasons the body will fluctuate. Try not to focus on each day's number as much as the fact that the trend is overall downward. Celebrate new lows, yes, but don't stress the bumps up unless you went crazy with food. Keep up the good work everyone! :) SW: 247.2 GW: 242.0 01: 250.0 02: 251.2 03: 248.8 04: 248.2 05: 246.6 (new low yay!) |

Made me sweaty and yucky. Still I did my planned walk which made me hungry. Not sure if actual hunger or that faux hunger that comes with realizing I forgot to eat. At least I didn't cheat. Although I did stare longingly at the vending machine. That scale better show me some respect tomorrow or I may throw it into the vending machine. ;) seaurchin, congrats on keeping the portions small. Thank goodness there aren't anymore holidays for me until the dreaded Halloween. SouthernBell02, good to know. I used to work 3rd shift so I know the weirdness of it. As an insomniac it actually worked for me a little. Great job with your flex. And those were some lofty goals you achieved! LovelyLeah, all hail water! pnkrckpixikat, nice! gardenerjoy, yes a family reunion of losses on the scale! Emme, sorry about your hunger. When I cut my portions it definitely was a couple of days of hunger before I settled down. Hope you feel better. Turtle11, crossing my fingers for 3 months of goals in a row for you. That would be fantastic! Not measuring my height either. I can't take the risk of losing any more inches. tavvy, wow 4 lbs in 4 days is incredible! Jacqui_D, I will threaten your scale for you. Perhaps even shake an angry fist of fury at it menacingly. You are stronger than those hormones so you'll just have to hunker down and wait them out. Easier said than done sometimes, but you can do it. TrayTeam, lots of time left in the month to make it happen. mjmelwel, good to have you here with us! nitrus29, what a great goal! You will do it! Sum38, wow! Everything else you lose this month will just be a fantastic bonus. cheeriloos, look at you go. You are melting away! Angelique32, weight fluctuates. You just have to wait it out. I'm .4 higher than yesterday but I know it isn't real. I tend to bounce around a few days then lose weight. Currently I'm in the bouncy stage. Tuscany, I'll have to go look at your pics. Thank you for the kind words and motivation. TOM got me this morning after me weighing in. So maybe its that, cause with TOM my tummy bloaths a little. |
Southern: I want a fitbit so badly! WHEN (not if!) I make my Halloween goal, I am going to buy one. Awesome job meeting your goals!

What a day! Our English Mastiff, Josie...
http://i675.photobucket.com/albums/v...cember2010.jpg slipped a disk in her back and we had to take her to the vet. It's not easy getting her to the vet when her back isn't bothering her, so this was really tricky. But she came through it with flying colors and is now on inflammation and pain meds, poor baby. As for me, I weigh 195 today! Woohoo, back to my starting weight! Now maybe I can get this show on the road! :flow2: Pixikat, Congrats on the new low! :yay: And good point on the height. If I came in at 5'7.5", I'm not sure how I would take that! Nitrus, good luck on getting to Onederland! My fingers are crossed for you! :crossed: Sum, great job! Yay, Cheeri Good loss! Angelique, hopefully after TOM you'll get a whoosh of weight loss! Chunkie, way to go! And we'll see if the whoosh fairy is working her whoosh magic. Happy Friday, ladies! I do feel better today. I work during the week, so I sent my daughter to daycare for the day yesterday so I could stay in bed. I give so much credit to stay at home moms who don't have help during the day when they are sick and have to take care of babies.

Tuscany, there is a downward trend in your weigh-ins, so don't get discouraged with the slow movement. Slow movement is better than no movement. Angelique, if you only ate that little, then I'm sure the pound will fall right off. Drink a ton of water and your system will flush itself out. Turtle, great job on the loss! pnkrckpixikat You are doing great! Keep up the good work :)
emme Awesome losses so far, you will be at goal in no time! joy Good for you getting on the scale this morning! I know that for me, avoiding it only leads to more denial and greater gains. staypuft and tuscany :wizard: Hope y'all see the woosh fairy soon!! Me: Down .6 lbs from yesterday. I use the Lose It app on my phone to casually log my food and/or check the calories in restaurant food before proceeding. According to it, with losing 2lbs a week I will have met my goal of 180 in December 2014. This morning I logged my current weight and it moved my tentative end date to November 2014. I really hope I can keep up the stamina. My son (nearly 7 months) isn't sleeping well at ALL...last night we got a grand total of 3 hours. He is teething and trying to learn to crawl. Add that to the fact that I work 12-15 hours a day (taking care of two kiddos, ages 2 and 4 along with my own) I am just exhausted! And when I am tired I crave sugar and carbs. This morning, to curb the cravings, I made a banana avocado cocao smoothie. It worked so far. I have my clingy and exhausted little boy in a mei tai on my chest, and sent the other two outdoors to play for a while...so for now it is rather peaceful inside! |
Maintaining 195 right now. Better than 196! Thanks Tuscany, Puft, Cheeri, Pixikat, and Emme for your well wishes for Josie! She's moving a tad better today.
Tuscany, the whoosh fairy loves you! I'm sure she's just lurking around the corner! :D Angelique, I always get cravings for chocolate and sweets around TOM. Good job on only eating pineapple and corn! :cp: Turtle, yay on the 5! :carrot: Chunkie, fantastic loss! How exciting! :broc: Puft, I am ready to rumble! Now, if only my body will cooperate, lol! Cheeri, :nono: No more than one cheat day a week! :D Joy, I've found weighing after cheat days is best for that exact reason--it helps keep me honest and on track. Pixikat, good job on the drop! Every bit helps! :flow2: Emme, so glad you are feeling better! Take care of yourself! Leah, yay on the 1.5 lb drop! My daughter and I both have reactive hypoglycemia. She can tell when her blood sugar is getting low because she becomes very hungry. It's really difficult for her to get her blood sugar levels up though, even her highs are only in the 90's, and so she has passed out a few times because it's dropped too low. As for me, I don't even notice anything's wrong until I am on the verge of passing out, and then I have to stop everything and eat immediately. It's not fun! So sorry you woke up that way! Tavvy, wow! You really have your hands full! The smoothie was a good idea. Congrats on the move up of your goal date! :cb: |

With a scale that measures in KG not pounds (I'm in Aussie) I dont think I'll weiugh myself everyday but instead once a week as otherwise I am going to drive myself crazy |
Jaqui I typically only get it in the morning because I'm pretty good about eating frequently enough during the day to stay stable. But my blood sugar drops so much while I'm sleeping that I often wake up low. I have 3 warning signs figured out so far. Irritability is my first sign that I need to eat. I usually wake up grumpy as all **** but I'm perfectly okay after breakfast. The next is nausea. When I reach the nausea stage it is really tough for me because I know I need to eat, I feel better when I eat, but everything turns my stomach. The final sign is dizziness, blacking out (but not yet fainting), and ears ringing. That's how I was in the morning. Sometimes I've just grabbed the bottle of honey and squeezed it directly into my mouth despite not being a huge honey fan. But now I've learned to grab some quick fruit because it doesn't cause a second crash later on. Today I had a really hard time keeping my levels up. On the way to school I just bought a bag of lollipops and have sucked on a few. I'm doing much better now though. I just gotta take it easy the rest of the night.
