Ok Jacqui I have to write a quick post about your dog. A very good friend of mine has an English Mastiff that looks a bit like your Josie. Her name is Ellie Sue. I love how dogs their size have no clue that they are huge and love to cuddle, when in reality they weigh around 200 pounds and could knock you over when the lean on you for a pet! :) I hope Josie feels better soon.
On side note... Sept 1~241.7 Sept 6~240.5 So 1.2 pounds but I expected a smaller loss this week from a not so great weekend last weekend with eating out, Ill take it though;) |
I was down a half pound this morning, which is my loss for the week….better than nothing!
I have an early morning flight tomorrow. So, after today, I likely won’t be posting again until I get back in a few weeks. I hope to remain OP for the most part when I’m away, although there will be a few days when I will indulge. I’m not sure if I mentioned this before, but one of the reasons for my trip is to help my daughter plan her wedding in Italy next year. So, when we’re in Italy, we will be meeting with the caterer to do a tasting in order to pick the menu. I suspect I’ll go off plan that day…I love Italian food! The other reason for my trip is to attend my daughter’s graduation from Oxford. She finished her Master’s last year and is currently doing her PhD. I will be taking her and her fiancé for dinner on graduation night and I will no doubt go off plan that day too. I imagine we’ll do a ton of walking while I’m there, which will hopefully make up for my occasional indulgences. :crossed: I’ll check in with everyone when I get home in a few weeks. In the meantime, I hope everyone has a fabulous September and makes terrific progress toward their goals!! September will be the month of the turtle ridden by the jockey…as in the picture I posted last month. Stay Puft: You're almost 2 lbs down since the start of the month, which is not too shabby! Jacqui: I predict you’ll soon be at 194! Pixi: Another new low…good for you. Joy: Way to get right back in the saddle. Emme: Glad to hear you’re feeling better! Sum: Despite the small gain, you’re doing really well this month. Leah: Congrats on the whoosh. Tray: There will be a whoosh in your future very soon. Tavvy: I hope your son’s teeth come through soon so you can get a bit more sleep! chunkie: My goodness, you’re doing well this month! cheeriloos: Enjoy your street party, minus the food! mzshaunna: I hope you’re able to find the motivation you need to get some exercise…if the gym doesn’t truly interest you, perhaps there’s something else you might enjoy more? SouthernBell: That’s a pretty decent loss considering your description of your weekend! Angelique: It’s normal to gain weight during TOM…nothing to worry about. |

196 again, hm, looks like my body's going to be stubborn this month!
Mzshaunna, thanks! Josie's on the mend, slowly but surely. As far as going to the gym, maybe you're just not mentally ready for that yet. Sometimes when starting out on a new weight loss plan, it can all seem like too much. Maybe you need to take it just one step at a time, and if I were you, I'd start with diet. I've always found if I can just start eating healthier foods and lose just a few pounds, then I feel like doing more and I start walking. But when I first start, I usually am not mentally ready to jump in all at once with diet and exercise. Maybe the same is true for you. Don't do what others expect of you. Just do what works for you. Leah, my daughter always eats a spoonful of peanut butter at night before she goes to bed. She's found that helps her make it through the night. SouthernBell, you are so right, lol! They are leaners! And they think they are lap dogs. Josie is my smallest mastiff. In fact, people often think she is a bullmastiff because she's so small. I have two others that are English Mastiff/German Mastiff (Great Dane) mixes who are taller and bigger, and my big boy Mac is notorious for backing up his hind end and sitting on the couch. He likes even better, though, when we are sitting on the couch and he can back up and sit in our laps, lol! Tuscany, you must be so proud of your daughters! Have a fantastic time. I know you will! We'll miss you! Sum, your and my scale both are going in the wrong direction! Yay, Joy! :cp: |

Of course one was chicken hearts and although I didn't love the heart the flavoring was so good. gardenerjoy, that's a great attitude. Weighing and posting when things are going well is easy but when things take a downturn is when you need to do it the most. I hope I have that strength when I slip. pnkrckpixikat, I am OP. The only change has been a small uptick in exercise. I just need to be patient. Not my strong suit. Meanwhile, you are slapping September around. Great job! Emme, glad you are feeling better. A water toast to us! LovelyLeah, yeah on your loss! Bigger yeah for being strong!! Gotta run. Will be back a little later to finish my personals! |

But I suppose when all the sugar was being used to regulate my blood sugar, and not idle, I guess it doesn't hurt. Not that I can afford to allow myself to use that as an excuse whenever I'm feeling mildly hypoglycemic, only when it's necessary. |
Good morning, everyone! It's a nice, rainy day here and I got a quick walk in with my husband, daughter and dog before it started drizzling. My weekend posts are kind of "post and run" since we're home with the baby on the weekends all day and it's go-go-go.
I was extra hungry yesterday and I ate more calories than I would've liked, but I ate mindfully and chose the right foods. I'm assuming my weight loss will start leveling off and slowing down now. The first few days are usually always water weight and the body adjusting to fewer calories. 1: DNW 2: DNW 3: 207.6 (1610 calories) 4: 206.6 (1730 calories) 5: 205.2 (1695 calories) 6: 204.4 (2019) 7: 204.0 Have a fantastic day! |
tavvy, I hope you and your son can get some good sleep soon. Congrats on moving up your goal date by a whole month. That is impressive.
Jacqui_D, I think my body might also not be quite ready to rumble. Hopefully soon for both of us. TrayTeam, there's always time for a nap. mzshaunna, if you can't or just don't go to the gym, you could always find a way to exercise around the house. SouthernBell02, a great loss when you think that is a 4200 calorie deficit in just a week. Tuscany, you are already on your way, but I figure I would post one last "Have a wonderful trip" just in case you see it. Sum38, that little bounce won't be around long. |
First of all, way to go for all those who have lost and are achieving their goals so far this month! :)
Second, although my scale is still showing 66.7 kgs (I can't seem to move past this number! :( ), it is obvious in the mirror that I've lost weight this month. And after measuring my waist to see just how much I've lost overall, my partner and I found that in the past 11 months 16 cms (6.29 inches) has gone. :D I don't know if this is worthy of a new thread in the Mini-Goal forum. Tell me if you disagree. For me, it's just a 'Yay' observation lol Therefore, September 7th and 8th: 66.7 kgs. I did, however, have a belated birthday party which included a strawberry width slice of cake :D |

Well, here it is Sept 8 and one week slid by, time to weigh in My starting weight on last Sunday morning, Sept 2 was 256.6 lbs.
Actually, the week did not just slide by, it was purt rough for the most part. On Monday, the 2nd and second day of this challenge I got up as usual, feeling fine and ready to take on the world. While drinking my morning 12 cup pot of coffee, I played a few games of spades online, read up on all the world news, wrote Obama to keep us da hek outta Syria, did my part for saving the world ya know Then about 10 I could feel tinges of hunger, just enough to let me know I ought to eat something. Had a breakfast of a chicken sandwich made on two slices of whole wheat bread, mayo, lettuce and a slab of grilled chicken, which I thought was about 4 oz, (240 cal) and half a cup of pinto beans with jalapeno. Total calories of 360. But since then I got in the kitchen digital scales which I purchased online for a very reasonable amount. I found out that 4 oz of chicken I thought was really less than 2 oz, 100 calories less. Anyway, back to the rough part. I bought some sweetener, Truvia, supposedly made from the best parts of Stevia. I do not drink sodas nor other any sweetened drinks. Tea and coffee for me is sugarless, cannot stand sugar in them. I bought the sweetener to put in home made jamaica so to take a bit from the tart. I actually like it without any sugar to quite a degree, but wanted to remove some of the tart edge off of it. After I finished all of my 12 cup pot of cofee I wanted I switched to jaimica with a little of that Truvia in it. That stuff was supposed to be made from the best parts of Stevia. An hour after drinking the jaimica I started getting a head ache, tightness across my shoulders, a type of pain but more just on the bothersome side. And my eyes started hurting and I got VERY drowsy. So I went to take a nap and see if that fixed it. YE GADS got up still with all the symptoms intact. Figured it would pass. Lasted like that all day, plus I just felt crappy. Got up the next am, feeling mostly OK. Had my coffee etc, reg morning things. Finally made something to eat, about 300 calories worth. I was OK until I drank about half of a glass of jaimica sweetened with Truvia again. Same thing as the day before. I started to make the association between that and the Truvia, the only thing different that it could be attributed to. And I also felt my blood glucose as not right, and figured that was the reason for my eyes hurting. Tested my blood glucose and nearly fell over, it was over 200, extremely high for me. Got online and googled Truvia. Did not like what I found. It has less than .002 stevia in it, the sweetening part comes from erythritol. Truvia has a long list of side effects, and all of mine were listed, from increasing the glucose level, aching shoulders, headache, drowsiness, and more. On a very long list of postings my symptoms were mentioned countless times. And our FDA approved it???? Coca Cola and Cargill owns Truvia,......... big money..... money talks bull crap walks........... that sorta thing???? whewwwwwwwww ouch I ordered some xylitol online which should be here in another week or so............ Anybody know of any complaints about that one? If so please let me know. Back to the third day.... The foul aftertaste I had from Truvia bothered me, and once again I had the headache, shoulder pain/tightness, hurting eyes.......... and the blood glucose took most of the week to get almost back to normal. Last night for the first time since drinking some of that Truvia sweetened drink my blood glucose got down to 110. That evening I went into town and ate at a Mexican restaurant, a small mom and pop place whose owners are Mexican immigrants who dish out authentic Mexican food. I like and had cheese enchiladas with beans and rice. LOL and had some jaimica drink Twice the usual daily calorie intake that day, but I was desperately trying to get out of those miserable feelings. It took all week to get back to near normal. Friday night I relented and bought a quart of Dyers Cherry Vanilla ice cream which was making faces at me in the store and ate half of it as soon as I got home. Turned out to be 1 1/2 quarts, 1660 calories LOL Oh well. And yesterday I finished it off. But I did the calcs and though I went way over the daily calories I aim for, I was still under the amount of maintenence calories so I knew I was still losing weight. Well, with a bit of trepidation, I stepped on the scales this morning, the first time since last Sunday morning. I knew from the last time I lost weight for three months the huge variations that are seen in daily or several times a day weighing. I will just take what it says on Sunday mornings. Here it is. last weeks weigh in 256.6 this morning 250.2 Down 4.4 lbs I was 279 lbs exactly 3 months ago, July 8, when I started this weight loss after a visit to my doctor who told me to lose 10% or 28 lbs. I achieved that goal this week I plan on adding more limited exercise this coming week so hopefully it will result in more on the loss side. Hope the rest of you had a better week and thanks for being here for me B F R |
BFR, 256.6 - 250.2 = 6.4 lbs. You ate a qt of ice cream and lost 6.4 lbs! I need to go on your diet, lol! I'm sorry you went through all that with the truvia. I'm glad you're feeling better now!
I weighed in at 197 today. Going the wrong direction. I'll write more later, everyone, I have a migraine headache right now. Darned hormones! |
Hi all!
I'm in, a week late, but that's OK.I'm shooting for an 8 lb loss which is fairly demanding for me, since I can't seem to lose. Well, I lose the same 15 lbs over and over and over. !!!!! disregard the weights I posted both last week and this morning. The only ones I consider accurate now are the ones at the doctors office.
I posted this morning that I weighed in at 250.2 somehow, I am sure I read it at 251.2 instead, a pound diff. When I checked in while ago to see how others were doing I saw Jaqui's post saying I lost 6 lbs and stated 250.2 lbs. I checked my post and saw I mis-posted. But that is only the start of it. I got my scales out and stepped on them for another check even though I knew the weight had changed somewhat after drinking coffee (11 cups) and eating breakfast. The scales said 260 something. I was a bit taken aback at that, then started adding it all up. Noticed I had my shoes on, 2 lbs. 11 cups of coffee.... 5.5 lbs my breakfast, about 1 lb. Did I use the bathroomlbs once or not??? Don't remember (at 72 and after a mini-stroke, I tend to forget a lot) If I did, subtract one lb from the coffee 5.5. Took off the shoes, weighed again. Stepped off, then back on again after it turned off. And again. Got weights varying over 4 lbs. My scale is unusable for this weight thing. Sorry. However, I know I lost some but do not know how much. UGH such is life. I will either get some better scales (any suggestions?) or have to find another way of doing this. My apologies to all B F R |

Just the Dew alone should be taking off 2 pounds a week. :( I dare someone to say to me today that losing weight is easy all you have to do is eat fewer calories than you use and I will beat them about the head and shoulders with my scale. |

I'll keep going but I'd even be happy if I plateaued at this number for a while, you know, just so it's here to stay and not an anomaly. I think now that I've fallen into the swing of school and work, my stress has decreased which made my weight loss at the end of August stubborn. |
Good morning, everyone. I went for a run last night for the first time in two weeks (my knee had swollen up), and it felt great. Granted, I only ran one mile and walked the last two, but the last thing I want to do is make my knee swell again.
I'm up 1/2 pound which is expected. I ate some pretty salty things over the weekend, I ran last night (which means my body is holding onto water to repair muscles), and I wasn't totally on plan with calories. I didn't eat horribly, but I ate a smidge more than I should have. 1: DNW 2: DNW 3: 207.6 (1610 calories) 4: 206.6 (1730 calories) 5: 205.2 (1695 calories) 6: 204.4 (2019) 7: 204.0 (1956) 8: 203.8 (DNT) 9: 204.4 pnkrckpixikat, I'm a big fan of eating out. I'd do it everyday if I could afford it financially. Good for you for eating out on Saturdays only! Maybe it will become a day to be focused on, meaning you'll eat really well all week knowing that on Saturday you will be going out for something different to eat. Good luck! B F R, my scale is always three pounds less than what my doctor's office weighs me in at. If you want an accurate weight daily, weigh yourself as soon as you wake up in the morning with no clothes on. cheeriloos, mmmm, Chinese sounds delicious! I'm sure you'll be back on track before you know it. Changergirl, contrats on the loss! Woo hoo! Angelique, the Monday after the weekend is always highest for me, too. I don't get a lot of water in during the weekend (I get at least 120 oz during the week), and I think that really affects me. I'm sure the scale will start its downward trend for you. Keep hydrated! Stay Puft, ugh, I hear you about calorie counting. That's what I'm doing and it's what I did a few years ago to drop my last 30 pounds. It's so maddening at times. How the helll can I eat on-calorie, drink a ton of water, and be UP!?! It's frustrating, isn't it? This may sound bizarre, but some days when this would happen, I would eat an extra 500-600 calories for one day and then go back to my normal calories. I would always start dropping again. Of course, this is just my own scientific experiment, and may not work for everyone. The extra calories were fun, though. ;) LovelyLeah: AWESOME job on the weight loss!!! |
