Hi everyone.....sorry I have been absent this week. I started a new job this week (after a 6 month break) and I have been exhausted every night!

Pretty happy with the V-Day Challenge - lost 14ibs!

I didn't stop in to record my CW or GW on the 15th so here it goes.....

SW - 315.2
GW - 298

I am aiming for a 17 lb. loss - a bit ambitious but I can't wait to get out of the 300 range!

I'm also an exercise hater, but the key for me has been to workout with a friend to give each other motivation and encouragement. If it's just me, I'm much more likely to not workout.

We've been doing the Turbo Jam DVDs which so far is definitely my favorite workout! I'd recommend that anybody looking for a fun workout should try it. Like I said, coming from an exercise hater- I think it's fun and it goes by SO fast, it's over before you know it. For the first time in my life, I have actually been looking forward to working out!

Hi Everyone!
I too hate formal exercise and never stick with anything! I started the couch to 5K though and I love it! I think it is because I LOVE to be outside even when it is freezing out. I actually feel sad the days I don't do it but I am starting slow and don't want to hurt myself. I also attend a yoga class once a week. It is actually a way better workout then what I would have thought and very challenging!

Checking in before I hit the bed. I'm exhausted and think I am getting the cold that son & hubby have. I also am an exercise hater and get bored so easily with walking or the elliptical. This evening I bought a rebounder mini trampoline that has arm resistance bands attached for both a cardio and strength training workout. I am looking forward to trying it out in the morning. Has anyone ever tried this??
They are calling for 5" or more of snow here on Sunday and I have everything crossed that we get it. I love snow and we have had no measurable snow here yet this winter. Just want that one big one and then it can get warm and I can go camping.
Hope everyone has a great and successful weekend. I know that the weekends are my toughest time.

Happy Weekend Everyone!

Great see some familiar "faces," ::::::waving to Sandy, Angie, Vicki::::::::::::: and BIG hugs also to new friends joining in this challenge

Golly, is it really possible to gain 4 pounds in 5 days? I'd love to believe it's due to a scale malfunction. Breaking point came yesterday: Someone in the building where I work recognized me at a bus stop and began to congratulate me on my "pregnancy."

Got home and mentally began blaming the empire-waist dress I wore, combined with poor posture, blah blah blah - epic denial!

Haven't sorted out the best approach with food and exercise yet, only that I need to eat less and move my body more. I'll post weigh-ins each Friday. So glad to be back with this wonderful group.

I hear you, Jean, about those empire waist dresses. They could make Twiggy herself look 4 months along. One goal of mine when I reach 150 is to always get dresses and tops fitted at the waist. I am woman...hear me roar!

Vicki, congratulation on your new job and your awesome weight loss in the Valentine's challenge.

As for exercise, I'm only aiming for 3 days a week of Callanetics Evolution and 10 minutes on my waist twister (for the more mature women here, remember that little round disc you stand on and just twist back and forth on it to work the waist? I just got one of those to help whittle in my middle). That is about all I can muster these days. I'm hoping the exercise bug will come bite me on the patooty soon so that I can work up to 5 days a week no sweat (no pun intended).

Ta ta for now!

Argh! Same weight now for 5 days straight. This is so aggravating. I guess just plain low carb eating isn't working the same. Time to combine that with calorie counting. Woman's World has a Turbo Atkins diet plan in there, which is basically Atikins but no more than 1700 calories a day. I'll follow that for a while and see if there is any difference on the scale next week. Woman's World claims that women following this plan lost 10 pounds or more a month. I'd be happy with 5 pounds a month at this point in my life.

How's everyone else doing?

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend

In hindsight, I'm finding a combination of calorie counting and exercise provided the best (and healthiest) results in past efforts at weight loss. And, if I gave it half a chance, these would probably serve me well in maintaining losses! Rather than choose a numerical goal weight, I'm going to use this challenge to COMMIT to a combination of calorie counting, routine exercise and see where that goes.

I'm also going to begin a "diet" from negative thinking. It's not difficult to see where I've allowed one negative thought to take root, build itself into a big storyline that fueled a lot of overeating. Yup - one crummy thought can soon have me back in the kitchen preparing a rich, complicated feast for a body that isn't even hungry.

Sandy, I remember those twister discs! Go for it As always, you've now inspired me to dust off the hula hoop purchased a few months ago (and never used). My middle "cheering section" could certainly use the workout - as evidenced by my recent event of mistaken identity at the bus stop Jzeeeeeeeeeshhhhh!

Logging foods eaten keeps me accountable and motivated. Also going to check in here more often, another key to success. I'll post weigh-in results each Friday. (Somehow, seeing where I've landed each week - whether a gain or loss - helps guide the weekend eating to healthier choices).

Let's do this

I'm glad to see some returning faces!!

Let's do this!!

SW:160.4
CW: 160.4
GW: 150.

Here is to hoping!
I am doing this new program that is made by Jamie Eason. She is a body builder, not the CRAZY big muscle kind, but the sexy toned PERFECT kind! haha
So far from starting this in 2 weeks I'v lost 6lbs! Booya!
Her workouts kill my arms and legs! I love it!
And I have been running, every stinkin day.
On my hour lunch at work I go for a 2 mile jog. I just don't like coming back to work all sweaty. Oh well. They will learn to deal! hahah

I hope you all stay OP! <3

I'm definitely in. Didn't do so well on the Valentine's challenge. Wanted 12lbs, but only ended up with 5 lbs. Better than nothing I guess. So, starting at 185 and hoping to lose 10.

Just wanted to say hi. I weighed in at my WW mtg this morning. Down .6, which is good in theory, but I'm breastfeeding... Shouldn't the weight be falling off?? I have more baby weight to lose!

My pattern seems to be lose four pounds one week and the maintain the next, repeat. I guess it's not too bad of a pattern, but that week of maintaining is irritating!

Anyway, hope everyone is having a good weekend, I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Praise the Lord! The scale finally moved after 5 days. I knew I said I only wanted to weigh in on Saturday, but I just had to see if there was any difference this morning. It's only a loss of 0.8, but I'll take it. I'm starting that Turbo Atkins tomorrow, so we'll see just how "Turbo" it really is.
