Ok, so going off the latest weigh-in at the doctor's office wasn't the greatest idea. That was a month or so ago. I just calibrated my scale and apparently I went up 4lbs. Shoot.

Any recommendations for good digital scales? Mine is an analog that I've had for YEARS...who knows whether it's accurate, either

ETA: This one looks promising...http://www.walmart.com/ip/Taylor-Mod...ndingMethod=rr

I was doing it 6 days a week in the beginning, but found that was just too much and my legs were sore, so I have eased it back to just the 4, and really the repeat workout on Saturday is sort of "optional" but so far I have been doing it.

As far as what lies ahead, I am just sort of overwhelmed that the next time I do the workout (Wed) will be the last one that includes a WALK segment in the middle!!

And I was never a runner either...I had to do it a lot in highschool for crew, but I hated it, even when I was thin! So enjoying it now, even so much heavier, is really inspiring! I can't wait to run a 5k 50lbs lighter!
I hear you! I am scared of the "no walking" workouts!! But I gotta say, so far they really hit the spot with the workouts. I haven't had a single one where I quit because I couldn't do it. That's why I keep doing it I guess. It was tough to run 20 minutes without walking but I did it without passing out or something. I keep telling myself as long as I am not in real pain I keep going. And I don't like to repeat days. :-) Not that the next one will be any easier but I somehow think "I don't want to do this one again" ;-)
Do you use podcasts or an app or something? I have the C25k app on the iphone and it sure helps me stick to it. It is so rewarding when you complete a day.
I am running this afternoon - W6D2. I will let you know how it went!!

Hi everbody!!

Kendra - Good stuff, all sparkling and spiffy siggy!!! ;-) I hope your back gets better soon. I know how that feels. Back pain is the worst!

Sarge - Thanks for listing the side challenges. I am in one and I already have a hard time keeping track of them :-)

envelop - OMG!! 50 lbs lost! Way to go!!! Now I really have to step it up and try for 50 lost on Sunday. Not sure if that will work out since I am a slow loser. Nice sounds like I am slow and a loser. Hahaa!

Budgetbaby - Welcome to the mad house :-)

Reso - I hear ya! I really start looking forward to running myself. Who would have thought I am looking forward to working out a couple of months ago??? Insane!!!

Awaiting - I am growing my own veggies. Well, as much as I can. Our growing season up here is seriously short. But I also have a little greenhouse so my tomatoes, cucumbers and eggplants have a few extra weeks. I also grow tons of herbs, kohlrabi, leeks, onion, garlic, zucchini, lettuce, radishes, carrots, beets, potatoes and we have goose- and saskatoon berries and red currants. Oh and rhubarb!

Have a great day everybody!!!

Happy Morning to You All

I can just feel the great, butt-er kicking, healthy eating energy in this thread! Whoo...so much going on. I have to lace up my shoes and keep up.

30 minutes of Wii Just Dance to warm up, then New Rules for Lifting. I upped the weights today. My legs can take it, but my poor upper body is definitely the weaker part of me. But I pushed through it.

6 mile walk planned later today.

Ended up getting an ice cream treat yesterday because my friend wanted one and I caved (oh will power), but I logged it and happily I was still in my calories range. Yay. Now To keep it going today.

Oh yes. I am totally going to have a butt like a brazilian!!!! When I go to San Juan, Puerto Rico in November, I want people to walk behind me and whisper to each other "Look at that white girl! She has a butt like a native!"

AwaitingChange - Yeah...we all have gardens. MadamB is in the habit of "self-pollinating" hers...and often wants to compare zucchini sizes with everyone else...

Me1st - YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! Just think of how much better you will feel when you're completely ciggy free?! I believe in you. You can do it!

MadamB!!!!! - I ran into a parked car this morning. I was running and singing along to my tunes, and I saw the car sticking out of the driveway a little in my peripheral vision, and I thought I gave myself room not to hit it....but I completely misjudged and clipped the back end of it with my hip and totally wiped out in the street! Then I couldn't stop laughing, so I'm laying in the street, sweating and panting from running, but not able to catch my breath from laughing because I had quite literally run into a parked car. WHO DOES THAT?!

The magical food you are looking for is the radish:
1 cup of radishes, raw has only 20 calories and 4g of carbs. and pretty much nothing else either except for some vitamin C. But it's crunch and tangy

Pokey - You ran into a parked car?!?!? Oh that's priceless! Wish we had video for that! Be more careful where you run next time chica!

Celrae - You geocache too? Sweet! My geoname is disneyfreaks1906 if you want to look me up on there. I nabbed a quickie cache behind a grocery store yesterday afternoon with my husband.

AwaitingChange - Oh yeah...just ask MadamB about her zucchini!

I just got back from my daily appointment with the treadmill. 30 minutes, 1.5 miles, speed of 3.0. And...today I didn't even break a sweat. All right...that means it's time to start adding some incline to that treadmill tomorrow when I go! I am also going to get back up there after work and participate in the group fitness class. I may not be able to do the whole thing (depending on what time my ride gets here) but I'll do whatever I can of it! And of course the 30 Day Shred tonight!

MadamB - I believe it about Jillian putting the hardest activities first in her workouts! Man, those push ups and jumping jacks...they're tough! But I'll make it!

Yep, I agree. They definitely did get their schedule together, as every workout is difficult, but doable. I only repeat workouts because I want to do it more than 3 days a week and I read that going faster than the 9 week plan can be detrimental to your progress. I know what you mean about not wanting to repeat, though! Every Saturday (repeat day) I want to skip ahead and start the next week, but I keep stopping myself from doing so because I need to exhibit will power wherever possible!

Pokey -- I have totally done that! I walk/run into EVERYTHING. I think I am just oblivious to my surroundings!

@AnonymouslyYours Repeating for extra days is fine but not because I wasn't pushing hard enough :-) For a while I did week 3 and week 1 on my rest days and then week 4 with week 2 workouts on my rest days. That worked fine.

@pokey I somehow run into stuff more than before. I figured being small (i.e. fit into narrower spaces) should reduce it but I find I am bumping into more. Maybe my mind has to catch up with the weight loss?

I had a total NSV this afternoon. I went shopping for new pants and I seriously fit into GAP pants size 8 now. Wooohooo! I know that GAP has fairly big sizes but I have never in my life fit into a single digit anything!!! I hope all the people in the store didn't hear me cheer in the fitting room :-)
On top of that it got some great deals there! The pants were on sale and they offered an additional 40% off. So I paid just over $11 instead of $69!!! I also bought a trench coat in MEDIUM (I have the large one at home and it is getting baggy) and that one was also on sale. I paid $38 instead of $108. How crazy is that???

Now off to my C25k run. My legs are sore today but no excuses!! Ruuuunnnn!!!

josey - Sweet deals at the Gap! You are almost at the 50lb mark...I have to bring my A game to stay ahead of you.

Awaiting - I have a garden too...the garden talk gets pretty ripe around here. Ate the first of our raspberries the other night. Nothing else is ready to eat yet.

Pokey - you are hillarious! I worry about getting hit by a car at times while jogging, now I know it is the parked ones that are the real danger.

Sarge - we are behaving!!! Don't want to get the thread locked down again.
