How in the world did I miss so much. One busy Monday and the thread is practically full!!!
I can't keep up with you guys. I'm glad Sarge will be summarizing all these side challenges so I can keep it all straight. Way to go by the way!
It is going to be a super crazy week for me so I hope to be able to keep up on my reading if nothing else. Sorry if I don't post much but I'm doing okay and am still around.
You will hear from me before Sunday but it may only be once. Sorry.
Everyone, Have an Awesome Week!
Happy Tuesday already! Hey, at least it's not the dreaded Monday anymore, right?
I've got a lot planned for exercise today! First of all I'll be heading up to the gym for my usual 30 minute treadmill meeting on lunch break. Then of course will be Day 4 Level 1 of the 30 Day Shred this evening at home sometime. But...I also brought my gym bag to work and plan to go up and work out with the group fitness class at 5PM today! It should be fun and different from my usual activity and I am looking forward to that. Maybe Chanel (the instructor) will have me sweating buckets and be achey and sore tomorrow!
Speaking of soreness, I expected to ache today after doing 30 Day Shred last night. Why wouldn't I? I've been sore for two days in a row. But I think tonight I turned a corner. I'm not sore at all today. Did I do something wrong since I don't ache all over? Also, the third round of cardio...well, I didn't even have to pause to catch my breath! I did 30 seconds of jumping jacks, 30 seconds of boxing, 30 seconds of jump rope, and 30 seconds of butt kicks without STOPPING AT ALL!!!! Two full minutes of vigorous, heart pounding working out without having to stop for a mini break! I know that isn't a long time, but it is progress for me. I really am looking forward to making it through the first cardio round with 1 minute of jumping jacks and 1 minute of jump rope. That's the really hard one. I will get there though!!!!! I can't make it through Level 1 all the way without having to pause for a few seconds to catch my breath but I am already beginning to wonder what Level 2 will be like. On Day 11 I plan to switch to it. By then I'd better be able to make it through all of Level 1 without having to pause at all.
Tonight the local geocachers are getting together for a meet and greet...at a local pizza joint. They do have a salad bar so I am going to avoid the pizza and stick with the salad. I hope they have fat free dressings on there!!!!
I've already downed 32 oz. of water this morning. Bet I'll be running to the loo all day but that's okay!
Make today great, platoon! Drink water. Burn that BUTT-er! Drop those pounds! And be the best you can be...in Sarge's Army!
Ohhhhhh...shoot, how did I not get that? That really makes sense..thanks!
I started my FitDay journal...my biggest problems are fat and carbs. Especially carbs. I thought that cutting out the junk food would be enough, because I really don't eat that poorly when I'm eating actual food and leaving the crap alone, but I guess the carbs are a big issue...FitDay said they composed HALF of my diet for yesterday. Fat was about 30%, and protein was 20%.
Mornin' platoon!
That's actually not a bad ratio, so long as your carbs are coming from fruits/veggies and whole grains rather than refined carbs like white bread and pasta. Keep an eye on that ratio and you may learn that you need different ratios for optimal losses, but you're at a good starting point there!
Okay...maybe it wasn't the *best* idea to help DH plant annuals and perennials in the beautiful new planter ring he built. The stabbing pain is my back's not so subtle way of saying, "nope, you shouldn't have done that."
I need to be more vocal in telling DH that even though I really, really, really want to help, there are just some things I can't do yet. Not without setting me back (pun intended) in my rehab process. I think sometimes he figures if I can do water aerobics or Zumba moves on a stability ball that I can do anything.
Truly though, the responsibility is on me for speaking up and not just trying to push through the pain. I have a massage today and physical therapy tomorrow. I just have to get up and stretch from time to time today. I should be fine.

Yeah, in this case those carbs came from white sub bread that I had at Subway...as far as calorie counting goes, I did pretty well - ~1,600. FitDay says I'll be on track if I stay below 1,700 or so.
The best breakfast for me is oatmeal. Not only is it healthy, but it is very helpful for my IBS...tastes much better cooked on the stove than in the microwave, too
Morning everyone! I just slept about 10 straight hours and, boy, did I need it! I was exhausted last night and was sitting at my desk thinking of snacking. Instead, I just went to bed, even though it was only 8:30. I feel good this morning, though a little lethargic at the moment.
All of these side wagers are great and the smack talk is so amusing! Looking forward to watching the competition.
AwaitingChange: Sometimes the answer is right in front of us, and we don't see it . . . don't worry, we're all like that . . . YOU CAN DO IT, NOW EASE UP ON THE CARBS AND ADD SOME VEGGIES AND A LITTLE MORE PROTEIN
COURTNEY & ALL THE OTHER 30 Day Shreders: JM USUALLY does the HARDEST SET FIRST, at least in 95% of her videos, so if you can get through the first set, then you can finish it . . . NOW GET OUT THERE AND MELT SOME BUTT-ER
Kendrab: OK, little one . . . watch out for those french fries tonight, BECAUSE you know they'll be calling your name
SARGE: YUP, Me thinks a new thread is in order before the end of the day, especially as fast as we're flying through this one . . . OH AND ROUND 1 DONE, UP AND AT 'EM OLD LADY . . . YUP, them thar are fighting words
EVERYONE GET OUT THERE AND BUST YOUR BUTT-ER . . . NOW!!!
Can't wait till next summer, after moving, when I put my garden in. This season is kinda shot for planting because I would need to tear up half the dirt in the garden (it's very much hard clay) and our landlord wouldn't be too pleased with that. I've got one tomato plant..hopefully it gets a few little green tomatoes soon.
Does anyone else grow their own veggies? I've done it for the past couple summers except this one due to the soil.
NSV- Was able to do 3 sets of 15 full "old school" style sit-up's today. Last week struggled a lot. Push-up's are a work in progress, still doing the girly ones.
AwaitingChange- Keep logging on FitDay, it is hard but will work.
Courtney- "Tonight the local geocachers are getting together for a meet and greet...at a local pizza joint. They do have a salad bar so I am going to avoid the pizza and stick with the salad. I hope they have fat free dressings on there!!!!"
Morning ladies, Looking like another nice day here, can't wait for the long weekend, going fishing way up north, that and a weekend of campfires and drinking with family.
Have to make everyday count this week, i was pretty happy with yesterday but i can do better yet.
Envelope : Yep, i try to just do exercises that i truly enjoy now, i always loved to ride, i'm so thankful i still enjoy it so.
Man is this thread ever on fire lately,
Just finishing up my coffee then it's time to make it happen. Enjoy your day everyone.
Woke up and my back is throbbing. My back is usually hurting but not this bad
I'm going to try and fight through 30 day shred and some dance central then it's time for laundry and helping my 5.5 y/o clean his room (he cleans it then I go actually clean it because I'm anal lol).
Awaiting -- "Does anyone else grow their own veggies?" OMG, did you just step in it. I'm just going to sit back and laugh at the responses you get from the platoon.
Welcome BudgetBaby!!! Do you pledge to lose 3 lbs by this coming Sunday or do you want Sarge to put that down for next week?
