I'm pledging the three lbs that I gained this week. I can do it. I'm also pledging a new scale.

Ugh, stayed the same this week...no loss, no gain. I'll pledge 1 lb next week.

Sorry for the radio silence, platoon. I'll try to do better this week.

Hey Sarge! Private Loco Checking in - I only lost 1lb again this week =/ The only thing I am doing different is adding strength training.. my calories are the same, so it seems like I should be losing more instead of less than usual grrrrrrr

Next week I pledge 1lb, since that's whats happened the past 2 weeks.

Rainbow great job on the running!! Keep taking it slow, I overdid it a couple of weeks ago.. and my knee didn't like me lol I am starting the couch 2 5k this week to allow my body time to adjust instead of hitting it hard like I was.

A lot of losers in this thread hehe, awesome job everyone!

Well looks like i'm out of the running for a few weeks ladies

My weigh in is up a pound at 240. Not sure how i only had a few grapes yesterday and some porridge today.

Yesterday took a horrible turn, after my morning walk i changed clothing and afterwards my abdomen felt a little tender, did'nt think to much about it and thusly proceeded to head out and do some grocery shopping, came home later but now i have an intense stomach ache.

I proceed to lie down during which time it gets progressively worse, finally i get up and inspect my mid section to find a huge lump, now i'm starting to get worried, i quickly gathered myself up and hurried down to the emergency where it turns out i have a strangulated hernia ? (WTH)... No idea where this came from, anyways within another hour i'm on an IV whilst high on morphine, gravel and some other drug that starts with b ??? All i can remember whilst they are preparing me for immediate surgery I'm thinking to myself what the **** just happened ? A couple of hours ago my biggest worries were ridiculous in comparison.

Anyways i wake up in recovery sometime during the night and am moved to a room for the evening, the entire evening proceeded to be one of constant BP / temperature and dressing checks for what seemed to me to be near hourly, at no time early yesterday did i think i would be exposing my junk to lots and lots of pretty nurses, but hey thats life Not to mention i could'nt go pee and they told me i would need a catheter if i did'nt, now believe me i literally willed that pee out after hearing that.

Anyways the surgeon arrives mid morning and explains the operation and its outcome plus my obligation to it over the next couple of weeks, looks like i have to take it easy, can't even work for a week, that's good and bad , still this hurts like heck and i hate the fact it will stymy my weight loss plans.

I might still check in with you guys if thats all right ? Hope everyone is doing a little better than me. Oh ya at least i've been released and am at home once again. I missed my bed and my pets.

Sorry for the excuses Sarge.

OMGosh Resolute! I think I speak for ALL of the group when I say you better keep checking in with us!

I can't believe you had to go through all of that, and sooo quickly! They don't have any idea what may have caused the hernia? Wow.... On the positive side-- this may be just what you need to give your weigh loss a huuuge boost!

Hope you get to feeling better ASAP! And please do check in with us! :-)

Resolute-- You're just making me laugh!!!! I can't believe you even included a photo of your wristband instead of an excuse. Sorry that you had to endure the last 24 to 48 hours but we'll be happy to have your company this week!

Be better!

No they said hernias are more prevelant in men and are somewhat degenerative with time, i asked if weight loss could be a contributer but got no definitive answer that i can recall.

Yeah, i couldn't believe how sudden it came on, it was a real whirlwind evening for sure, i remember getting wheeled into the OR and just thinking WTH.

I like to think i'm pretty tough but it hurt and hurt bad, at one point i was wondering if i was going to make it, before they drugged me up anyways, pretty traumatizing to say the least, but hey it could of been worse, just have to be thankful for that.

I'll try to check in but i won't feel very good about not contributing a whole lot, doc said i should'nt really even walk much, maybe small slow outings only, no lifting anything either so about all i can do is restrict cals, but laying around isn't really condusive to maintaining a low intake, at least for me.

Jaytee : LOL, oh brother, was i ever embarrased but what do you do ? I'm sure they've seen it all before. Hey it's my ticket to a free ride this next week.

My Check-in is 2.8 pounds this week. Not the 3 pounds I wanted, but close.

My goal next week is 2.4.

I will get up every morning and do 40 min TM and 20 min yoga.

I'll do 4 flights of stairs daily.

Weights and abs at night.

I wanted to ask a question--

Ok, is it just me, or is weighing less than our significant others a huuuuuge deal? My fiance is a very solid 225lbs, 32in waist. Very strong man (he's a rancher, he HAS to be strong), anyway, yesterday after my weigh in I told him "by this time next week, I'll weigh less than you!!"
He started in with this crap saying he'd just not eat anymore, etc, etc.. Just because he doesn't want me to be a lower weight than him. I mean, wth? Why would he NOT want me to weigh less? I told him it hurt my little feelers. He thinks its some big game. I have a thin skin, and don't do well be being somewhat taunted about it..

Anyone been there? Anyone have suggestions?

PS Resolute... Please don't do this to your Ms. Amazing!! Although I don't believe you would :-p

He is just teasing you, whether it is all in fun or not is the question you need to ask, he wouldn't care if you weighed less, at least i wouldn't, i would be proud of your determination and accomplishment however.

Sadly i'm "forever alone" I'm what you would call gentle, women seem to want men that are more ??? brutal ???. Yeah TMI.

Thanks for the well wishes Cheshire and Tubbaki I will be fine, they ran a bunch of blood tests etc... and everything else looks good, just be a bump in the road. However i had to explain my weight loss numerous times in great detail, the girls kept noticing my flabby skin and stretch marks.

Still they were most impressed at my accomplishment and made me feel a little better about myself with their words.
