Good Morning Platoon, Get up and Get out There!

It's Saturdays, I can hear the birds chirping outside my window and exercise is calling my name and yours!

I have a 5k race this morning with some friends from work. So I'm eating some oatmeal right now, then I'm off.
I have my trusty notebook and will track, track, track. Weekend eating is a downfall for me. But not this weekend...oh no. I will have a loss this weekend and it will be awesome.

Good morning fellow combatants.

Of course i like AC/DC silly, this song in particular strikes a chord in me, not only in matching the beat whilst walking, the slow steady start and the meaning i take from " There was no help, no help from you ", cause lets face it once everything is said and done it's on each of us personally to pull strength from within to face the fight. This reminds me implicitly that it's all on me and i seem able to draw extra reserves just in the realization.

Bleh, anyways i still sit at 239 this week, i have a hard time believing it but there you have it, still going to put in another over the top double duty day in hopes that i can show some forward momentum even if only a pound.

Knock me down i get back up.

Props out to sizzlingina for hitting her number, early this week no less, great job girl.

Cheshire : Had to laugh at your shovelling them in comment, reminds me of myself, i try hard to eat slowly now as opposed to inhaling things as was my previous MO.

Edit : Cheshire dang you get up early ! Seem to preempt me every day.

Wow, Sizzle--your are sizzling down your waist with that loss this week (yuck that you had a stomach bug though!)

Resolute-Ha, I did beat you by a few minutes getting on this morning--tomorrow I will be sleeping in a bit more if I have any say in it.
And I completely hear you on eating slower. That was one of the things I really had to work on. I much better--but at times I still just find myself trying to put the food in as fast as I can and I have to stop myself. (especially when I'm hungry)

Just got back from my 5k--great course. Out over some water, good weather too. I came in around 26:48--so not too shabby.
They had quite a spread after the run, but I grabbed an apple instead of the cookies, chips or hotdogs. Whew.

The rest of my day is kind of up in the air plan wise---so I'll see what I can get done. I am so posting a weight loss this time around though. I'm going to wait for tomorrow though since I right now some of it's water weight missing from running.

Cool, dark, quiet room. 4 ibuprofens, and lots of SLEEP. That's the only thing that has ever helped my migraines! I used to get at least 2 a week. They're horrible! I really feel for your roomie!

Just finished my first 9 K hard walk today and did a tiny bit of house cleaning - more on that later... But first i feel like getting out and about for a couple of hours, maybe i'll go and wash the truck, it's gross dirty, should probably vacuum it and clean a little inside also but it's pretty cold out still, meh! We'll see.

Just have to stay busy so i don't think about food. That and every little bit burns cals, it would be nice to see the scale budge this week.

Sizzlingina, wow... Absolutely out performing all expectations.

Hi guys...
I don't know if it's the constant rain and grey skies but I'm in a bad mood today. I've been fighting with the scale since I started this lifestyle change in mid January. I was excited to see a loss last week but this week it's back up to 222. WTF. I think I'm going to have to leave Sarges No Excuse thread because I just can't handle the constant disappointment from the scale. It just keeps going up and down 5 lbs. Obviously something is wrong but I don't have insurance and can't afford blood work with an endocrinologist like I need. I've been working so hard with no result on the scale. Inches wise, I am losing though and pants are fitting better...so I just don't understand why the scale isn't moving. I don't know what to do. Needless to say I didn't meet my goal of losing a pound. I am actually up three.

Good job!! 40 seconds is a great accomplishment! Next time it may be 60.. Then 90.. You get the idea!
Girl, I totally feel you, though. I'm scared to death of running on my treadmill (mind you, I can't walk straight to save my life, so you can imagine RUNNING! Lol)

What speed do you normally walk at? And what did you run at today? 3mph is a fast but comfortable walk, 4mph is a light jog, and 5mph. I'm praying I don't slide off backwards into my dresser!

Rainbow -- You're A RUNNER!!!!! Can you believe it!?!?! What a great feeling. So glad we inspired you!

Lucy--sometimes Sarge's bark is worse than his bite. We'd never throw someone off the thread for trying. Hopefully something will shake lose for you soon so don't give up the battle. Try writing everything down you eat for the week and what you do for exercise and set a realistic goal for yourself. Maybel it's only 1/2 lb in a week, at least it's something. Hang in there, it's almost spring everywhere and we'll get more sun than that seasonal dysfunctional gray cloud that hangs over us January - March!

Cheshire -- Nice run time! I gutted out my 10K + this morning and I hated every second of it!

Reso -- Don't waste all your weekend time cleaning and walking. Don those newly fitting clothes and jackets that had been hidden in your closet and get out there and hit the social scene!

MadameB--THANK GOD I DON'T HAVE TO GO 3 today to keep up with you. I don't have it in me. Good luck with migraine maintenance!

Sizzle--Way to get the mister into mall walking with you. Yesterday I made my daughter watch Grey's Anatomy with me while I walked the treadmill. She wanted to lay on the sofa under a blanket and I told her too bad...I needed to keep moving.

Sarge done with workout #1 -- 7 miles (4 all running 3 at over 4.0 treadmill pace) = 1136 cals burned and closer still to making my pledge. 3 more workouts let to make goal for week. Oh YAY! Not!

Keep at it Platoon!
