it's quiet around here today!

Hope everyone's doing well.

I'm still struggling a bit - I can't wait to be back home and back in my routine.

What's everyone up to?

Staccie-wow 30 miles, wish I could do that in a week. I've been thinking about adding miles that I bike to my weekly mileage but havent yet. So glad you are feeling happy lately.

Vicky-I have been wanting to try that special K stuff but havent yet. Went to the store today and forgot to get some.

Dance-I didnt get any miles in yesterday either but got 3 in today. 8 more to go for the week.

momof2-good job on your walks.

Ran some errands today and got my walk in. Have to keep the boys tomorrow for 24 hrs. Might take the 3 yr old swimming Friday. Thats always a workout cos he gets in and out of the pool to jump in and I have to catch him. I'll probably take them for a walk tomorrow evening after dinner.

So, this is the 3rd week that I haven't worked out and only done the ARP treatments. The one today was really hard, I took it as far as my body would let me, but it was still REALLY painful. I go back tomorrow, but Jeff thinks that I'll be strengthening in no time. So, we are still plugging away at that.

I weighed myself on Sunday and was at 210.2, so I'm down 1/2 pound, which kinda shocked me since I'm not "officially" working out, but Jeff said these ARP treatments are just like having a workout, so I guess I can't doubt him anymore.

Allison: You are doing so great with your walking, I am so impressed by your commitment to it! Way to go! Keeping someone's kids for 24 hours, not sure if I could do that...more power to you!

Momof2kz Way to go on getting your girls involving in walking. I truly believe that getting kids to exercise with you is a great way to promote healthy habits as they age. I don't eat sweets and now my daughter doesn't either.

Dance: How are you doing with your eating...back on track? Was there a trigger? hope you are doing better!

So, Maddie got sick today at daycare, so I had to leave work early (got back from my lunch/ARP treatment, was at work 30 minutes and left again). Didn't have lunch until 2:30, and wasn't hungry for dinner. Had a granola bar and some V8 fusion. I'm telling you, I am eating so much protein due to these ARP treatments, I don't eat much else except lean protein and veggies/fruit. I guess that should be what I was eating all along, but now my body is craving it.

Tomorrow's ARP is going to be more painful, as he is working on my shoulder and my knees. He talks me through it, and I've really learned how to focus to be able to take the pain. It takes some getting used to, but since I'm feeling an improvement, I keep thinking of the end result.

BTW: for those who know AJ, she's having gallbladder surgery tomorrow if you want to post something for her on her FB page.

morning, girls! Almost done with my trip - I head back home tomorrow and am happy about it. Phew! I had a rough night - not sure if it was restless leg syndrome or what but I get a nerve-y, burning kind of pain deep in my knee sometimes after long flights or lots of time in the car that keeps me up. It finally went away early this morning and I could get some sleep.

Haven't heard from mygrits so it's looking unlikely that we'll get to connect but that's fine - I know she has tons going on right now.

maddiesmom - thanks for the headsup on AJ - hope she does okay! Congrats on continuing to lose even during the protein-loading phase! Good luck on the next treatment - hope it's not too uncomfortable. And yeah, I think my trigger was being up too late and unable to sleep. I never deal with that well.

burgundy - swimming with a toddler sounds like a great workout!

Hope you are all doing well!

Dance: So sorry you were / are in pain. Poor thing. Hope your flight home goes ok without pain! Late night munchies are hard for me too, so I end up having a small glass of V8 splash or something in an attempt to fill me up, but mostly, I clean my house to keep me distracted. Of course, it's hard for you to do that when you're in a hotel!

Had a good morning, stepped on the scale and I was at 208 - down 2 pounds! That's with TOM as well, so I was doing a little happy dance for myself this morning. I'm so close to Onederland, it's starting to kill me!

Hubby took Madeline to the doc - she's got a double ear infection. Luckily we caught it early, so she hasn't been in a tremendous amount of pain. Poor thing! So, I'm putting in a full day of work, then ARP at 5:00 - I think it's more shoulder strenghtening and then mapping my knees to see how bad they are. Hopefully it's not as bad. I think it's all psychological though...I can't see the ARP or what Jeff is doing when I'm getting my back worked on - but I CAN see him when he's working on my knee. I don't know, it's a pretty sensitive spot too, but just seeing my muscles move and contract on their own can kinda mess with your head.

Have a great day ladies! Hope everyone checks in soon!

Vicky-dont know if I could handle the ARP treatments from the pain you say you have. Congrats on being down 2 lbs, that is great. Hope Maddie is feeling better soon, glad you caught the ear infections early.

Dance-sorry you were in pain last night, glad it went away so you got to sleep a little this morning. That sucks you probably wont get to meet up with Sandy, I think she is going to Georgia today. Swimming should be a good workout catching him every 2 minutes.

Only have a few hours til I have to leave to go to the boys house. Their dad finally moved out so thats why I have to be there at 4 instead of 9. Yay, but more money. I am still at 193 this morning. I have been thinking about getting 30 day shred out. Might start it on the 1st. Going to Alabama on June 7th and want to be 185 by then. Thats only 8 lbs, I CAN do it!!!!

Hope you all have a great evening. Gonna make dinner for lunch since I wont be here with my hubby at dinner time. Then probably a lean cuisine for actual dinner.

Burgundy: Have fun at work! You have to be someone very special to take care of those kids for as long as you do. Have the boys asked any questions about why their dad moved out? Seems like an awkward situation.

Well, since everyone is MIA today, I will let you all know that food has been good. I'm eating so much protein that I'm not terribly hungry, but I'm finding that when I'm bored, I'm starting to snack again...not good. I'm usually doing almonds or 1/2 a protein bar, but I still don't like it. Here's food for today:
B: 1 cup fruit salad
S: Special K Protein shake
L: Chicken oriental lean cuisine
S: Almonds and a Special K protein water
Dinner: Not sure. I'm thinking some grilled chicken with veggies

The protein water seems to really help, but doesn't help when you are bored or just want to snack. gotta watch those snacks so it doesn't add up calorie wise.

Hope everyone is doing well!

maddiesmom - WOOHOO for 2 more lbs!!! Do you have a date in mind when you're shooting to arrive in onederland?

Doing okay today, knee still bugging me a bit so I'm hoping a long soak in a bubble bath will sort me out.

There's a bonefish grill right by tonight's hotel so looking forward to some yummy fish and veggies tonight and will definitely be back on plan

Hope you all are doing great!

Hi Girls.......

I have missed you all this week, just very busy and tired....sooo tired...

Dance I wrote you back on FB email, I'm sorry if you didn't get it. I wrote back as soon as I read yours. I don't always noticed the email indicator on there and did read it a day after you wrote it, sorry. I would have loved to have seen you. I hope your trip has been good, but sorry about the rough night last night. Hopefully the soaking will help.

Gosh Burgund 193??? You are really losing and so close to your goal! I KNOW you will reach it before your trip! Will your family every be shocked!!!

Maddiesmom I wrote you on FB. How is Maddie doing? Feeling better I hope. Bruce you to get those a lot when he was little, and they can be so painful. Hopefully all of you will have a restful nights sleep tonight.

Staccie sooo good to see my Canadian friend on here!! I have missed you, but really enjoyed your FB writings and pictures of the Olympics! Well done!!

Well, I'm tired, pooped and just worn out. I have been working, going to my parents on my day off doing yard work, and have no time to myself. Ugh. Thankfully they did hire two new girls at work, so I am 'suppose' to start my 3 days off a week next week. So hopefully I will be more rested then. I'm sorry I have been on here more lately, but I click on FB to check on the kids, and maybe write a comment or to, then I go to bed.... Food has been good, but workouts still suck. I did buy 4 new pairs of shoes, and yes that is a lot, but I am trying to figure out how to fix my foot. I have been changing my (new) shoes a couple of times a day at work and it seems to be helping. It cost my a couple of hundred dollars in shoes, but hey if it helps..it was worth it!! LOL......

Any word out of Neesy and her trip to Korea?

Bye for now!

Dance: Glad you were able to find a healthier option for dinner...it's so hard when you travel to find things that are good for you. Sorry the knee is still bugging you. I don't have a date set for Onederland yet, since I'm not officially working out, I don't want to set a goal and not reach it because I'm not able to work out yet. I'm surprised I've lost the 2.5 I have.

Sandy: Thanks for your post about Maddie. She is doing better. She is such a trooper, as bad as she feels she really doesn't complain or whine, she just lays on me and watches t.v. Sorry your foot is still causing you pain...any idea what's causing it? Have you checked it out with your doc?

Well, the ARP treatment started on my knee today, and all I can say is OMG....that was THE MOST painful thing I have ever done in my life. What makes it so bad is that the pain is on the knee cap itself, so there's not a whole lot of protection. I had to do exercises while the pain was a "10" and it was the most pain I think I've ever felt. It felt good to fight through it and get done, and Jeff said that I was doing really well. he's worked on some pro athletes that give up after 1 session, so I guess, kudos to me!

Anyways, I'm so sore, worked on the knee and my shoulder/back. Once this is done (4 more treatments) we are going to try the workout route. I go back Saturday morning and work on both knees. Wish me luck with that...OUCH!

Hey Vicki, yes it's a heel spur from so much standing (9 hours per day) and walking. Once you get one, it's very hard to get rid of it if you are still putting in those hours. If I had a couple of weeks off (maybe more) it would go away. Anyway I bought 4 different pairs of shoes to try and alleviate it. It is better, I just have to keep rotating them at work. It's still there, but about half as bad as it was and it was getting pretty painful. So I am glad it's working. Plus next week going down to 3 days off should also help. Thanks for asking. Bye the way, I'm glad Maddie is feeing better.

Well yesterday I did ride the bike, but really need to get a better seat. The seat on there is killing my arse......;-) Today I'm going to do some crunches, weights, and squats before work. Food is good and I'm trying to eat only when stomach is truly hungry and stop when I'm satisfied. I'm trying to get away from eating because I'm in front of the TV,or bored and know I have more calories I can eat. Anway, it's hard at times!

Have a great day everyone. I work this weekend, but what are you all up to?

Sandy: Hopefully you can get some time off soon where you heel can heal. I'm having trouble with eating only when hungry. I have my protein shake or lunch, and when I'm bored I am starting to snack again. I have to actually talk myself out of snacking. Most of the time my mind wins, but sometimes it's the M&M's 5 feet from my desk.

I'm home with Maddie again today, she's sick and the medication hasn't broken her fever yet. Poor thing. She's napping now which gives me some time.

This weekend?? I have my ARP treatment tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. (yuck). i'm working on my shoulder (which is actually feeling a lot better) and then both of my knees - which I'm really not looking forward too. I'm fighting through the pain, I know it will be worth it in the end. Then it's off to do some shopping since I didn't get to last weekend. Sunday is family day, so depending on weather and Maddie, we may get some time outside.

Hope everyone else is doing well. i'll check in later!

Vicky-thanks, its trying at times. The boys were really testing me last night. Had the 3 yr old til 430 today instead of 2. Gonna have them again tomorrow night and then Tues and Wed. They havent really asked me anything about their dad. Ethan(6 yr old) did say yesterday on our walk "my dad doesnt live with us anymore" but then something else caught his attention and thats all he said about it. But their mom and dad fought in front of them all the time so I think the boys know exactly what is going on. Hope the rest of your treatments go good and arent too painful. You must be one tough lady to make it through all these if some athletes only make it through one. Hope Maddie gets to feeling better so you can have a fun weekend with her.

Dance-hope your knee feels better soon. Can you sit in a hot tub at the hotel, that might help. Glad theres a healthy option for you for dinner so close. How long is your trip?

Sandy-thanks for the congrats, i have been stuck at 193 for a week or so now. I need to up my exercise. I really hope switching shoes frequently works for you so you arent in so much pain. I had heel spurs when I worked at Kmart for 5 years. After I quit and wasnt on my feet all day on the concrete floor they went away. I've been trying to make my meals last longer. I have been eating slower. I saw on Ruby they did gentle eating. You dont talk or drink with your meal and make it last like 45 minutes by chewing each bite 20 times and putting your fork down in between. Dont think I could do that. I like my food to be hot when I eat it.

Took a 4 mile walk tonight, but wore the wrong shoes. They made my feet hurt, so I am laying in bed now. They're feeling better now. I wore the pups out, they are both asleep already. Gonna get up tomorrow, pay a few bills and maybe do a little shopping alone. My SIL wanted me to go shopping with her but when she shops she is gone ALL DAY LONG! I have to get back to go to the boys house tomorrow evening. I havent been keeping them when their mom wants to go out but I am gonna tomorrow. I take the WII over sometimes and havent lately and they have been wanting to play it so I am gonna take it over. Then their mom has to work 3rd again Tues night, so I will be back over there again for 24 hrs. I only need to walk 2 more miles to make it to 20 so I might go over 20. I never feel like I have walked enough when I only walk 2 anymore.

Have a nice Saturday everyone!!

Good morning ladies. Quiet Saturday. After tell Sandy yesterday that I have been stuck at 193 for a while, the scale cooperated this morning. 192.2 SO happy to see that. 7 more lbs to my minigoal. Have a wonderful day. I might get to check in later, not sure what time I have to go to the boys house.

(In a hushed voice, "Later that same quiet day")
Decided to stay home today until time to go to the boys, gotta save some money. Planning a trip to Alabama in June. Only gonna have the 3 yr old tonight. Gotta go over there at 6. Walked my 2 miles so that put me at 20. Its started to rain so we didnt go farther.

Allison Congrats on 192!!! So happy for you.

Today was an ok day. I got to bed really late last night - decided to go to Sports Authority and treat myself to some new work out clothes. Got some Under Armor shirts and a pair of shorts...and was impressed that I looked half way decent in them today at the gym.

Had ARP today (sorry if you ladies are tired of hearing about it), and did both of my knees. Holy **** did that hurt! I grunted and writhed in pain, but got through it. Then I had a dentist appt, then went to get my wedding rings resized (going from an 8.5 to a 7!), had lunch with the hubby (had a salad) and then the mall (got a new suit). Just finished dinner (italian beef and fries...trust me, I already regret it thanks to my stomach). But all in all a busy day.

I'm going to the gym tomorrow to walk - can't do any other exercise until Jeff gives me clearance to do so. I have 3 ARP treatments left, so we're focusing on my knees. Then it's back to personal training. Hoping that by the first week of May I can really get back into the groove of working out. Other than that, nothing special planned for tomorrow. What is everyone else doing?
