Cool! Thanks dancerindenver
I'm 18, about to start my second year at uni in England. I've been on the verge of overweight most of my life (since I broke my leg as a kid and got out of the habit of regular exercising...plus I love food) and my first year at uni and all its included bad eating/exercise habits have taken their toll, leaving me with an added 9 pounds and officially sending me into the overweight BMI zone.
I've always been conscious of being overweight, especially compared to all my skinny home friends, but coming home to that 9-pounds-higher number on the scale gave me the incentive to be serious about my weightloss!
That lasted about a month.
I ate a lot of vegetables and lean protein but still let myself have occasional treats. I woke up early and exercised for half an horu before work. I lost about 13 pounds in that first month. Then getting up early everyday, working 8 hours on a split shift and then meeting up with friends started to add up, and lack of sleep plus some personal problems ended with me having a panic attack at work.
My plan is basically a healthy eating plan. More veggies, less snacks, not cutting out carbs completely, but cutting down on them definitely, smaller portions and more exercise (I have an elliptical and several aerobics and toning/pilates DVDs I like to use)
I joined 3FC because I really need something to keep me accountable and realistic on what I eat and how much I exercise. I love reading how everyone's doing as it motivates me to know that so many people are going through the same problems I've always had and that some of them have found permanent solutions that have helped them achieve their goals.
And now I'm really sorry because this has become very very long and rambly!
Shutting up now.
But I look forward to keeping up with you guys on this thread!
