Dance: Glad you are able to relax with the bf tonight, enjoy a glass of wine, I don't drink anymore, so have one for me!!! AWESOME ON THE 2 POUNDS!!! You are rocking along! You will be down to goal really soon!
Sandy: So glad you had a great visit with Alina. I know how much you miss her. I was absolutely addicted to the Livestrong website, but I don't have a fancy phone to keep all the aps...that's going to be my gift to myself when my current contract expires. I logged my food for a really long time (signing in through my computer) and it definitely helped. I also started watching my sodium, so that's why I cut out the lean cuisines. CONGRATS ON THE BIKE RIDE. That amount of calories burned is amazing - don't you feel so great about yourself?!?!
Well, today was a good day. I didn't go to the gym, but I did a ton of yard work - bought some new bushes and flowers and put them in by myself. Then I mulched, etc. So burned a lot of calories that way. I had a protein shake for breakfast (Jeff told me about this stuff called Designer protein, which is with whey protein and it's chocolate flavored). I mixed it with skim milk and fresh strawberries and blueberries. It tasted pretty good.
Lunch was a lean cusine (I know I said I was giving them up, but it was quick and I wanted to go to the bday party full). So at the party (they ended up having a late lunch/early dinner at 5) I had 1 brat (didn't care for any of the other options) and 1 small spoonful of pasta salad and 1 small spoonful of coleslaw. For dessert - one small bite of birthday cake. I didn't think it tasted very good, so I didn't waste the calories. So all in all, not a bad day.
Tomorrow is going to be a ton of cleaning before my bbq on Monday, so that will be a workout in itself. Hope everyone else is doing well!
Hey Vicky it sounds like yesterday was a really productive day for you! I love gardening and watch the artwork grow. I do miss having my garden here. I had a huge flower garden out front that grew over the years. I cam home last year and it was all dug up by the Neighborhood Lawn Care grew and they put in ugly bushes. That is what suck about a Neighborhood Board Association. What is funny is now they are digging that up and want flowers and they way it was before. However, I refuse to pay for it since they dug up mine (and all the money I spent). Anyway, I am enjoying watching my moms gardent develop each week.
I loved Lean Cuisins and lost a lot of weight on them 4 years ago. My favorite was the Turkey with Dressing and Sweet Potatoes. Yummm. They were convenient, tasty and I thought healthy for me. When I relized differently I gave them up, but still miss them! So you like your Protein Shakes? Thats a decent brand. Do you feel content and full? Any more energy? I may have one today myself. I haven't fixed one in over a month, but sounds rather tasty for today! LOL..........
Well no workout today for me. Yesterday was enough and I dropped almost 2 lbs and reached my goal for this week.........FINALLY! Today I am going to see if Bubba wants to ride over to the beach for a nice walk later when the crowds over there thin out. It's about 15 - 20 minutes away and might be nice for a change. Our beachhouse has my nephew and niece with the kids for the week, so thats out. Bye for now!
mgrits - woohoo! Congrats on making your weekly goal! It's amazing what tracking every bite and posting lots on 3fc can do, don't you think? It's fun to see you so active on here again and I'm so happy for you that you're on a losing streak - are you feeling it in your clothes already?
maddiesmom - I agree with the avoiding processed foods approach but one lean cuisine is no big deal and great, great job at the party! Very impressive! And it sounds like your burning your calories the old-fashioned way this weekend with yardwork and cleaning - sounds like everything will be gorgeous when you're all done.
Doing well here - had grilled veggies and grilled shrimp tossed with garlic-chili paste (yummy, spicy and very lo-cal) for dinner and mangos for dessert. Hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend!
Dance - yummy Mango, I love it! I wished you lived closer so you could cook for me. Your grilled veggies and shrimp sound scrumptous. Hope the rest of your day is good. Thank you for the compliment and yes, it really does help to be on here and LiveStrong. ;-)
Vicky - I agree, some processed food on ocassion won't hurt anything. I hope I didn't sound negative about it. I still eat some frozen dinners when I am lazy. I love Amy's now and eat one or two a week. I have to admit though Lean Cuisines were my all time favorite. Hope your day has been wonderful.
Burgund are you traveling to Alabama? I miss you.
Well today has been lazy and I am actually tired of being lazy.....LOL. I did go to the grocery store and pick up a few things. I made Bubba lasagna and myself macaroni & cheese. So my cooking is done for a couple of days. Other than that, I just watched the movie It's Complicated (absolutely adorable) and now I am on here. I have to work out tomorrow for sure!
Well, I weighed in today and have a loss of 5.5lbs for the first week which I'm very happy with. Some of this is water loss but there is some pounds in there too. My food has been great over the weekend, I did have a slight blip Saturday lunchtime where I had nothing planned so I bought a lean cuisine meal which filled me up for about 5 minutes and lead to some irresponsible snacking on Kashi Crunch!
Mygrits - I like lazy days too, it's good to have time where you do nothing. Congrats on your 2lb and reaching your goal!
Dancer - oh my that shrimp dinner sounds delicious and I love mango which I bet complimented the spice nicely.
Maddiesmom - I hope your bbq goes well, sound like you've been busy with the yard. I like to garden myself although have a black thumb with flowers but can grow vegetables just fine!
Burgundy - I have two mutts, both rescues. One is 7 years old and is a terrier mix, the other is almost 2 and is a spaniel mix. They're my conscious when it comes to exercise because they need it as much as I do . I'd love to live near water, I bet it's beautiful where you are.
Plans for today will be buying notebook, pens etc. for school tomorrow then nothing. I'm having eggs and half a large grapefruit for breakfast, I made a huge greek salad for dinner with grilled chicken and I think I might make seafood stew for dinner.
tearose - wow! That's a lot for one week - way to go! Good luck with school tomorrow!
mygrits - what kind of workout are you doing today?
maddiesmom - is the bbq this afternoon? Hope it goes super well.
I had the munchies last night which was a bummer as I've been trying to avoid that recently. But I'm going to make up for it by heading out the door for a run in a few. My sister and I are off to Boulder for our girls' mini-trip today and won't be back until tomorrow afternoon. I should get in a good walk later today and a long hike tomorrow.
Good morning ladies!! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I am feeling great this morning. I didn't overeat or cheat this weekend which I am very happy about. I went to Costco on Saturday and bought a bunch of fruit which made it alot easier for me to control my cravings for sweets. I go for a weigh in at lunch time to see if I lost any over the weekend. I am keeping my fingers crossed!!
Tearose - Holy Cow! That is a great weight loss! I know your feeling good today. That is a minor slip up and actually not a bad one. I think you have done awesome. Good luck in school tomorrow. ;-)
Dance - Well my workout today was bike ride on alot of hills, 30 crunches, and strength training in the arms - 60 total. Thats about all I can stand in this heat. It is so hot here now, I hate it. Today has been good Dance, still logging in my LiveStrong. Boulder I bet is beautiful this time of year. What is the temperature there now? Did you get your workout in and how far? Any hills???
Nicholeg - Congratulations on the weight loss!! That is wonderful! Are you working out today?
I got my workout in, which I wrote above and food has been good. I just snapped some beans, which are cooking and getting ready to bake a sweet potato. Not much else going on but laziness............LOL
Sandy-I keep meaning to check out livestrong. I'll have to do that tomorrow. How is it going with sodium now? Im gonna get out of my lazy streak this week to try to make it to 189. I did an hour on the wii and have been doing a lot of yardwork. Congrats on your 2 lbs and making your goal. We leave for AL on Sunday.
Dance-I havent been buying a lot of new clothes, plus I still have the muffin top. I so want it to be gone. Its getting smaller a little at a time. Congrats on the 2 lbs this week. The shrimp and veggies sounds yummy. Have fun on your mini trip.
Vicky-yardwork is a great workout. Bet your yard is looking good too. We need to cut grass but it rained so hard today we couldnt do it. Gotta get it done before our trip or it will be a jungle when we get back.
Tearose-5.5 lbs, great job. What plan are you on? I cant remember. My pups love to walk too, they get so excited when they see me putting socks and tennis shoes on, lol.
Nicole-gret job not overindulging this weekend, that can be a hard task. Congrats on your 2 lbs.
Looks like the magic number for the week is 2. Wish I could join all the 2 lbs losers, but that darn scale is fighting me. Bouncing from 190 to 192 still. I might have had a little more potato salad than I should have at the BBQ today, but I did get a workout in so hopefully I burned some of it off. I made a huge fruit salad so I have some leftover for the week when I want something sweet. Had the boys all weekend, but their dad got them at 2 yesterday so I had some free time yesterday. Gotta get that grass cut tomorrow and clean my house this week. Im ready to pack and get out of Michigan for a while. I will just miss my pups. Wish they were going with us. Hope you all have a great night.
Hey Burgund - Look what you have accomplished this year already! You have done so awesome, and your body may just need a 'rest' for a bit. Possibly change it up. Sometimes we need more good calories to kick it back it. You should check out LiveStrong because it has really helped me see where my sodium was too high, my sugars at times to high and I don't even eat sweets! It also showed me how when I work out my calories are too low, so when I upped them as it indicated, I lost more weight. It may help you too. So why can't the pups go? That would be hard. We have had to leave Hondo at time or too and I had a really difficult time just worrying that he was 'stressed.' Shephards are such protectors, when away from their parents (who they protect) they stress and worry if they are safe - hence they start chewing. I know how you feel wanting to get away though........gosh I could just get in the car and drive.......drive........drive. I am so ready to get away to anywhere. Our lives have been in an Abyss for over 3 years because of all the things that have happened. Well, I hope your day today is GREAT! ;-)
Very quiet in here.........where the heck is Vicky??? Vicky you have always been the rock in 3FC........hope your weekend was great. Dance I miss you too. How was Memorial Day?
Well, I was down another pound, but I thought the ridiculous workout I did yesterday would do something. I am thinking a swim today. I can't do the bike ride because my butt hurts from the seat.....LOL. I can't jog yet. Soooo, maybe swim some laps. I looked it up and for an hour it burns 752 calories. Now, I can't swim laps for an hour, but possibly 30 minutes. We will see.
I will check in later. Have a great day everyone.

Tearose: Congrats on 5 pounds!!! That is so great!
Hope your first day of school was good! Was it hard adjusting?
Nicholeg: Congrats on 2 - I wouldn't say that's a small loss, that's pretty average and not something to look down upon. Each pound adds up!
Allison: Have a great time on vacation!! Too bad you can't come and stop by here on your way...it would be great to meet someone from 3FC - seems that Dance is the only one who's been able to meet up with others. Of course, I guess I could go to Florida and meet them! LOL Good luck with the lawn and cleaning, that was my entire weekend since we had our friends over yesterday.
Sandy: You are too sweet! I've never been call the "rock" of of group before! Glad you are getting out on the bike and letting your foot get the rest it needs. I know it's hard, but in the long run, it will be better for you to let it heal so you can do harder workouts later. At least you're finding other ways to get exercise! Great job on your loss as well! So proud of how well you are doing.
As for me... yikes!
Ok, so I was really good on Saturday at the birthday party and then Sunday, for the most part, was good. It was in the mid-90's here and after going to the grocery store, I figured I would treat the family to some ice cream, so we had reese peanut butter cup blizzards...yummy! I didn't go to the gym, but I ran around with Madeline in the sprinkler and played outside. She had a blast and I had fun running through the sprinklers with her.
Yesterday, not so good. I was running around the house like a nut finishing everything up, so I didn't get my protein shake in and then I was starving by the time our guests came (you know where this is going right?!?) So I had chips and dip (french onion, soooo good) and I had potato salad and coleslaw. I did eat some veggies as well, so it wasn't all bad, then limited myself to 1 brat. Then I had 2 rice krispie treats and a small brownie. (*Yes, this is my confessional, sorry ladies!) Dinner was leftovers because I was too tired to cook so I had 1/2 of a burger and then 1 hot dog and then some more chips and salads. I felt awful after eating it because I'm so close to the 100's. I guess that's my calorie cycling day?!? LOL I did get a lot of exercise cleaning the house (and the carpets) and then took Maddie for a long walk to the park, so it wasn't a total loss.
So, got on the scale today and it said I was up 6 pounds, which i don't think is possible, I couldn't have eaten THAT many calories, so I think it was mainly the salt consumption. I'm back on plan first thing this morning, so I'm determined to get it out of my system by the end of the week. I'm going running tonight and I'll do Jeff's "Workout of the day." I have his class tomorrow and Friday and then training on Saturday morning. The other days I will be doing his workouts that he gives me. Gotta get to Onderland - I want to be there by Father's day. that's a little more than 2 weeks away.
Have a great day ladies!

Well, I survived the first day of school. This class (beginning Algebra) is going to be rough. I've forgotten a lot of the math fundamentals, some came back to me today, others not so much. It's a condensed class too, only 19 classes, with 6 tests and 1 final so it's going to be intense. I've just got back home and devoured a huge greek salad with grilled chicken breast, am letting it settle then going to tackle my homework.
Maddiesmom: I'd bet that is salt retention, especially if you were eating hot dogs and brats, those things are sodium bombs. We are both close to ONEderland, we can do it!
Mygrits: congrats on another pound!
Burgundy: I hate leaving our pets when we go away too, we'll have to take the youngest with us if we go on short trips as I think he has separation anxiety. The oldest couldn't care less . I'm not following any particular plan, I'm trying to eat low carb with no processed foods, lots of lean protein and veggies, dairy and grains occasionally.
Well, I'm going to fill in my fitday then tackle my math homework. Oh the joy...
