  • Maddiesmom - that is wonderful news - wow!! 2lbs to onederland - WTG!! You are a rock star! That is the most impressive plateau-busting I've seen. The next time you worry about a plateau, we're not even going to have any sympathy for you - apparently it means your body is getting ready for WHOOSH!

So, I had a kind of funny NSV this weekend - I've changed sizes in pretty much everything since last summer but one place I didn't expect it was my head I wore a visor that normally didn't quite reach around my head to allow the velcro to attach properly, and it fits just fine now. Too funny. I guess it makes sense that we have fat under every part of your skin but it's not one of those things that you really think about.

mygrits - how are you doing in the FL heat? I saw you posting about your hubby's business on fb - sounds like all is going really well, right? How's his diet?
  • Dance: Isn't it strange how we lose weight in places we never expected?!? I had my rings resized and they are already getting loose again! Haven't had the head thing, but my sunglasses aren't as tight against my head as the used to be. Didn't give it any thought that it could be the weight loss causing it.

Thanks for the congrats, that plateau was a killer. Hoping not to have another one any time soon. Originally my goal was to be a 14, but now, I'm still going because I'm not happy with where I'm at in a 14. Have to keep it going. Of course, my pants are a 14, but my tops are still a little larger...anyone else have that problem? I want to work on the upper body and try and slim and tone that. But, you really can't spot train. I think the running has helped me trim down as well. I'm still not a fan of running, but I really want to do that 5K - and complete it in under 45 minutes. That would be my biggest goal right now.

I'm starving today, not sure what's going on. Had my protein shake for breakfast, had a special K bar for a snack with some almonds. My metabolism must be rearing to go because I'm still hungry!! Geez!

Got a call from the hubby that my power is out at home, (we've had some really bad storms) and they are saying it won't be back on until 11 p.m. Figures, since I just went grocery shopping. Keep your fingers crossed that the milk is still cold when I get home!

    What is everyone's plan today?
L: Roasted chicken on Arnold flatbread, fresh pineapple and carrots
    S: Baked lays, apple
D: Not sure - depends if something has thawed!

Workout: Training with Jeff at 7

ETA: Power came back on, so no melted food in the freezer tonight.
  • maddiesmom - too cool about your rings getting loose again. I hear they have little plastic dealies that can take up the space temporarily if you want to avoid constant resizing. And I can totally see how your sunglasses would get looser - funny stuff! I'm really loving that high heels are more comfortable - less pressure on my feet and smaller feet that fit in my shoes better.

Had the world's yummiest lunch today - spicy chicken with sauteed veggies, bhaba ganouj and hummus and a quarter of a white pita (oh the shame of eating something without whole grains!). I think I will be picking up take-out for dinner at this middle eastern place soon and that way I can swap the pita for whole wheat too.

Am planning on a few errands after work and then a late walk with my walking buddy.

So, have you guys noticed people (strangers, really) treating you differently as you lose weight? Curious to hear...
  • Hello Ladies,

Dance, thanks for the congrates on the FB comment regarding the business. It is going well. Not moving quite as fast as I would like, but not complaining either, because building a business doesn't happen 'overnight.'

Well, Bubba is kicking my butt - literally. He is down another 3 pounds - in two days I might add. I cursed him in the gym after he weighed! LOL......He just laughed. My weight - no change. I feel like Maddiesmom with the plateau. All of my muscles hurt and no weight loss. Soooo not fair. I am happy though that he is so focused and he has that old Navy Seal look he used to have - completely in the zone to his goal. Grrrrrrrrr. I wish I could do that, and not be affected by TOM and Menopause. Anyway, I did get on the treadmill running for 10 minutes and race walking the rest. I also did the elliptical - man that thing could kill a person! My heel felt fine at the gym, but was tender yesterday. Not horrible, just tender. So today we went back to the gym and I once again ran for 10 minutes and race walked the rest. It feels still tender, but not bad enought to not do the workout again on Wednesday. So YEAH! It's not perfect, but hey it's better than it was! So, our schedule is gym Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday and pool on Tuesday and Thursday. Other news, is Bubba wants to sign up for the 27K run in Jacksonville for Breast Cancer. What the heck, I've created a monster! LOL.......So, now I guess we will be training for that starting August. I don't know about 27 miles - I may do half!

Maddiesmom - CONGRATULATIONS! You must be so proud of yourself - as we are of you! You have accomplished so much this year. Did you get alot of cute clothes when you splurged? You need to load some pics for us. Your doing awesome on the running too! I love the runners high ;-) I always feel so energized the rest of the day.

Dance how is your knee today? I hope it is still feeling good after the run with your sister. Hey have you used the A/C yet? LOL........ That is hilarious about your hat or head!!!! LOLOLOL.........I never thought about it but my hat did fit loser when I lost alot of my other weight. I remember my rings getting really lose and my SHOES fit lose. That was so bizarre to me when I would put my heels on and they were big.....;-)

Well have a great evening girls. I am signing off and going to make some hot Cream of Wheat.......my new addiction. I love it and it fills me up till morning ;-)

    Nite.
  • Sandy: Glad that Bubba is pushing you and the two of you are working out together. It's so important to have that extra push when you really don't want to do it - that's why I have Jeff. Glad to hear that your heel is doing better too. Must be a relief. Your workout plan sounds wonderful! To answer your question, I did get quite a few cute things (40% off and then 25% off each item when I opened a charge). I got a suit, black slacks, jeans (which fit wonderfully), and 2 tops. Very cute. I haven't taken any recent photos, but I have a graduation party tonight so I'm sure I'll get some pics taken then.

Plan went well yesterday, kept to my food and worked out with Jeff. I'm coming down with a cold or something, but still went to training. I feel completely drained of all energy, but I'm hoping that by forbidding myself to get sick, I hopefully won't - not sure if that will happen. I want to go to Jeff's class tomorrow, but don't know if it is worth it to push myself so hard when I'm sick. Thoughts?

So, since I'm not working out today, gotta be good foodwise. Here's the plan:
    B: Protein shake
    S: Almonds
    L: Roasted chicken, carrots, grapes
S: Pineapple, wasa cracker w/laughing cow cheese
D: Not sure, but I'm not cooking!!
  • mygrits - oooh - cream of wheat! I haven't had that since I was little - may pick some up at the store today! Glad your foot is holding up (more or less) - same with my knee. It's not a bad idea though to have an off day in between times you put a lot of pressure on it and maybe bike on those days instead.

I'm headed out for a run in a bit and will pick up a rotisserie chicken when I zip to the store at lunch.

Hope you guys are having a good day and that we hear from burgundy soon!

ETA: maddiesmom - I missed your post. Your new clothes sound great - hope we get to see pix soon. On the sick front, I think you need to listen to your body and play it by ear. I hope you can dodge this one though - such a bummer to be sick.
  • hey ladies. I'm home. We got home yesterday around 6. Its so nice to be back in my own home but didnt want to leave my family. I think they are gonna try to make a trip up here before school starts.

So I have to admit. I weighed this morning and was up 6 lbs. Not gonna change the ticker though, just gonna work my butt off and get those 6 off again. Gonna go grocery shopping tomorrow, we have nothing. Went and picked up a few things for today, but still tired from the trip so we will get good stuff tomorrow. I am gonna get back to walking. It was so hot down there I only walked a couple times. Gotta get back down to 190 quick and into the 180s. If my family comes up I want to be down to at least 185.

I havent read back yet but I will later and try to comment. Hope you are all doing well.
  • burgundy - so nice to have you back! Glad you enjoyed your family time. I bet part of your uptick is from water weight and you'll see that come off in no time. I don't have time for a workout today but are we on for miles tomorrow? I'm planning on a 3 mile run at least.
  • Yea Dance, we are definitely on for miles tomorrow. Gotta get back into the swing of things.
  • maddiesmom - is tomorrow (thursday) a running day for you too? Maybe we can make it a group mileage challenge
  • Morning, girls!

I'm having a great day so far - super productive and very much on plan. I woke up at 6 and did a big cleaning and organizing blitz and a bunch of report writing. Got in a good run in the park although it was pretty toasty. Am going to the grocery store at lunch to stock up on healthy stuff although I'm getting kind of bored of my usual stuff. May need to mix it up a bit - if anyone's got any fun new cooking ideas, I'm open!

burgundy - were you able to get out for a walk before it got too hot?
maddiesmom - how's the training for the race?
Mygrits - how's that foot? and your ever skinnier hubby?
  • Allison: Welcome back! Bet it's good to be home with your furry babies. i'm sure they missed you and Chris. I wouldn't worry about the pounds - just water weight that needs to flush out of your system.

Dance: Running is going well, I haven't gone since Sunday, I had training on Tuesday and then have been sick ever since. Last night I felt fine, was planning on joining you for miles, but then this morning, I feel like total crap. My sinuses are completely clogged and I feel like I'm in a fog. Luckily, it seems to be going away fast (I think since I'm healthier the cold doesn't last as long), but I am not sure whether or not I will push myself exercise-wise today. I'm thinking of going to Jeff's class, just because I won't see him this weekend, as he's going to for a CrossFit Certification, so he won't have class Fri or Sat.

So, food has been good, haven't gone off of plan, and I haven't had chocolate in a month! I made myself a bargain - no sweets, etc. until I'm under 200 lbs. Still have those 2 pounds to go. Of course it doesn't help that someone is unwrapping a piece of chocolate in the cube next to me as I type this! Makes it hard, especially since I pass a candy jar every time I get up from my desk. Willpower!!!

Hope everyone is doing well. I really hope this cold ends soon! I want to get back to my routine and I have to start training for those 3 miles!

    Have a great day everyone!
  • Hi!

Well, can you believe it, Bubba weighed in and was down another 3 lbs!! That is 14 pounds in 10 days and a total of 30lbs. What the h***! Sorry. I weighed and nothing.........nothing! So, I am caving and going on the LiveFit with him. In the last 3 years, nothing has worked for him and this is working wonderfully, so I am game. We will see what happens! I know it's a great and healthy product, so should really help me. It includes a Muscle Enchancer Blend, Energy Factors Blend, Muscle Recovery Blend and an Herbal Water Eliminator.

Dance........I love Cream of Wheat! Did you get some? It is filling and is good for increasing iron. Yummm. You day sounds great do so far - very productive! Good for you! I do agree with getting bored with stuff, because that is kindof where I am at. I need to change some things around too. Have any ideas?

Maddiesmom, your clothes sounds wonderful. Have you worn some to work? How are you feeling? Up some Vitamin C - maybe that will help. Hey, and maybe Jeff can just sweat it out of you! LOL **** You posted at the same time, so wanted to say I am sorry your nose was clogged, but glad you are doing better as the day goes along. Maybe take it easy today and just eat some nutritious foods. Kindof funny my nose was athe same way this morning ;-)

Hey Burgund! How are the pooches? I know they were thrilled to see their mom! So, you didn't much care for our heat here huh? LOL..........I know totally sucks! Ugh! Whats the temp there?

Well, no gym today, but the pool instead. When Bubba gets here we are heading to the store, then the pool..........

    Bye for now!
  • mygrits - don't get too discouraged with your hubby's progress - guys are just built differently than we are, I swear. And since he's right at the beginning, the weight always comes off more quickly when you're first getting started, right? Curious to hear more about the livefit stuff... By the way, your avatar pic is so elegant with the light catching you like that - you look like a woman of mystery!

maddiesmom - such a bummer about that cold. I'm so impressed by your no chocolate discipline - all hail to the will-power goddess! You will be zooming into onederland any minute now...

burgundy - I bet you are having a snuggle-fest with your doggies - how did they do while you were gone?

I'm taking the day off tomorrow and am going for a run first thing and then doing some yard projects with my mom, then some much put off furniture shopping in the afternoon before picking up my nephew for his overnight at my house.

I'm off to dye my roots - such an exciting life over here, folks Hope you guys are up to something much more interesting....
  • Dance-wish I could get up at 6 and be as productive as you. I am not a morning person, but have gotten better at getting up earlier. The lady at the kennel said the dogs did just fine. Bandit jumped up when I called his name when we got there and started his little monkey noises(its so funny).

Vicky-My pups were so happy to be home. Lizzy was scratching on the door when Chris was trying to get it unlocked. I was happy to be home too. Its always nice to be back in your own home. You are such an inspiration to me, working out even when sick, no chocolate in a month!!!!!

Sandy-congrats to Bubba and dont get too discouraged. You have already lost so much, be proud of yourself. You are amazing!!!!!! The heat doesnt really get to me down there cos I lived there most of my life, but poor Chris, he was miserable. He stayed in the ac most of the time.

Looks like all the newbies we had have dropped off. I cant believe our group has gone from 9 down to 4 now.

I got 2 miles in tonight, waited it about 8pm to go. It was much cooler. Lizzy got tired cos she hasnt been in so long, but she made it. They are sleeping now. Got some groceries today, lots of fruits and veggies. Thinking about making some stir fry tomorrow. I have some japanese wheat noodles I think I will throw in there.

Got some errands to run in the morning, then gonna clean my house up from all the unpacking. Still have the suitcase to unpack. UGH!!!!!!!!

When we got home I was at 196.2, this morning I was down to 195.0 So I am hoping to be down even more tomorrow. I have been drinking tons of water so I hope that helps.
