Just nine days in and I blew it!

Yesterday I had my cholesteral and blood pressure checked. In Feb I was diagnosed with diabetes. I have been making major changes in my life since then. My cholesteral had dropped to 150 from 208 and my gloucose numbers are much lower and I had lost 27 pounds. However my blood pressure was still 132/90. I was so upset that my blood pressure had not dropped, but actually went up from 130 to 132. I went off the deep end and ate I bunch of stuff I should not have. Before bed I got my head back on straight and did 40 min of exercise with my dvd. This morning I am on plan and already walked one mile with my 13 yr old.

Why is it I let one thing get me down when all the other signs are good? URGG

I could use a little encouragement today!

Lori

Hey ladies, I've missed the weigh in but it was intentional, I really wanna save it till monday when I am due to weigh in for g2009, Sorry :dizzy:

So been pretty good, though I did have pizza of friday night, after I got back from the hair salon, I got a new cut and colour so am happy, I also bought a home manicure kit and did myself a french polish but it's a little messy but hey from a distance it looks pretty ;)

Been on plan otherwise, even on the pizza day I only had 1480kcals so I'm happy with that. I jsut wrote myself a weeks plan for exercise and some mini food challenges to get me pumped again. looking forward to the week ahead - not felt that for a while.

hope you ladies have a great mothers day

Friday I deliberately went over calories because DH and I had a long awaited date to a movie and an Ethiopian restaurant. I didn't overstuff myself but was good and full by the end of the night.

Saturday I tried to keep my weekly calorie intake instead of doing my weekend plan, but went over. And I didn't drink all my water. I have been keeping with the Shred every day though.
Even today - Sunday - Mother's Day, I got up and kicked myself in the butt with that crazy video. :exercise:

Today has been good. I had a small breakfast, veg chili for lunch, and tonight we're having both our parents over for pizza and some cranberry torte thing from Trader Joes. I will have a small piece of that with no ice cream.

Also, my pants have been falling down so that every 5 steps or so I have to yank them back up. So I bought a belt :) It's a bit small but I'm looking forward to tightening it even more. :)

I got my 5 mile jog/walk in today. I did it in 1 hour 4 min. That is pretty darn good. I am pleased with myself. It was quite a jump going from 3 miles to 5. My butt hurts.

Now if only the scale would cooperate.

Hi can I join in on May bootcamp? These look familiar! Glad the boot camps are still going strong... Today I'm decluttering, dyed my hair, doing nails, getting back in "boot camp mode"! I bought a new six month exercise/diet journal and I'm starting it tomorrow. I went through some personal "stuff" and missed a month, ok more, of exercise and eating right so gained a few pounds back. I really want to stop yo yoing! Today Sunday I'm going to jog on my bouncer some, tonight, then will start the week strong. Also I'm cleaning the kitchen and am writing list. And of course flylady, back to THAT as my clutter got out of control in no time without a system. Best wishes for a good week for everyone!

#1 - I am going to calorie count and do Biggest Loser Pyramid plan for eating, I'm going to limit calories to about 1250 per day
#2 - I am committing to 4x per week of cardio (at least 30 min) and 3x per week of weight training (similar to what I was doing with the Body for Life Plan.
#3 - Relaxation - I like hot baths and quiet music. Also I have a Relaxation dvd to unwind with at night that includes relaxation techniques and yoga.
#4 - Water - I will drink a lot of water each day
#5 - Decluttering - back to flylady daily program for my again messy home, I can't eat right, exercise or think all cluttered
#6 - Pamper/Grooming - I'm going to organize my closet, and dress cuter, I got lazy lately. Also attend to nails and makeup better.
#7 - Other Area - There's a relationship issue I'm working on
#8 - Motto - "Positive, positive, positive"
#9 - Goals - To lose the last 15 pounds, 4-5 the rest of May
#10 - Reward - Just fitting better in my clothes is reward enough. But a massage would feel great.

Sorry I've been MIA. I didn't realize we were suppose to weigh in on Friday, and I usually do it on Monday, so I have an update today.

Starting Weight - 154.6lbs; 29.0% Body Fat
Current Weight - 155.4lbs; 28.4% Body Fat

Okay, that looks really bad. I think I know what the problem is, and I'm working to get in under control. I am so close to my goal now that I'm pushing myself too hard, so my body rebels. I may burn 1200-1500 calories for 3 days in a row, then I'll do nothing for 2 days plus eat a box of crackers! So I've decided to relax, and just focus back on slow and steady, instead of trying frantically to drop all my remaining weight instantly. So my new exercise plan will be burning at least 700 calories 5 days a week. With that plan, plus my current diet, I should lose a little more than a pound a week, which should be quite doable (as opposed to the 2.5-3 I was attempting and miserably failing at for the past 6 weeks). I have also revised my mini goals to reflect my new "relaxed" mindset.

Mindy - My book list has over 250 books on it, so I'll just list the first 15 or so. If you would like the whole list, let me know and I'll PM them to you. Of course some of these I've already read, but a most of them I haven't.

Ulysses - James Joyce
Atlas Shrugged - Ayn Rand
Middlemarch - George Eliot
Siddhartha - Herman Hesse
The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald
The Fountainhead - Ayn Rand
Moby Dick - Herman Melville
A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man - James Joyce
Battlefield Earth - L. Ron Hubbard
Anna Karenina - Leo Tolstoy
Lolita - Vladimir Nabokov
The Lord of the Rings - J.R.R. Tolkein
Brave New World - Aldous Huxley
To Kill A Mockingbird - Harper Lee
The Sound and the Fury - William Faulkner

Hey everyone, hope you all had a great weekend and mother's day! I weigh myself every morning and I'm down .6 from Friday. Today starts my exercise plan since school is over, I've already done C25K W1D1 and I'll be doing more when my boyfriend gets off of work at 1. He's decided that he's going to join me in getting healthy, so I'll finally have an in-person workout partner!! I usually do soo much better when I have someone with me. So I'll be going jog again later with him.

May 11, 2009: 178lbs

4lbs down and 11 to go! I have started using Slim Quick packets which are giving me the energy to get on that elliptical! Tonight I hope to do a half hour on it.

Back on track TODAY! Back in boot camp mode to lose in May and June! Updating my Calorie King program now so I can count every morsel that goes in my mouth. Today is upper body day for me, so will do weight training. Was off about 6 weeks so it might HURT. We'll see. Happy boot camp day everyone!

Stupid late night twisties on Saturday are still having their effect, and I'm a bit peeved. Grump.

Drinking water like a crazy person to try a flush out the salt and bloat.
