ENY
OK~So I was one of the people you sent pm too... I am up to a challenge.
My weight is 212.8 as of today But I am at my week that it goes up and down ...I was 211.4 a few days ago ~Not a actual weight gain just my crazy before my time of month thing.so Envy you can start with which ever weight you would rather.)
Anyways ~Been on my journey since November 11th 2008
Started out weighing 259.9 And I am very close to losing 50lbs And also close to being halfway to my goal so That thrills me!

When ~I started counting calories~I was in it to lose the weight and never look back~To get to my goal be Healthy~All bad habits was dropped!
I EVEN QUIT SMOKING LAST YEAR!

~MY GOOD HABITS~
I am super excited to say I stay on plan and I am determined to get there!
The best thing I have done was figure out that calories made us lose or gain weight and now I know the ultimate weight loss secret for me and Once I get to my goal And possibly beyond I can maintain and be healthy!!!
Also~I walk indoors~Works great for me as exercise~No treadmills no equipment just from one room to the next~especially during phone calls~
IF I TALK I WALK!

I would like to be in onederland by Memorial day But I figure In 6 weeks I can Lose about 9 lbs possibly.
So that would put me around 203 or so.(Not sure how your doing this eny~I will check back in ~ I figure A good memorial day number for me would be 203 to 205.
I HOPE TO REACH MY MAIN GOAL By My birthday December 6th 2009.

Goodluck everyone.

Lori - I just went and looked at your progress pictures! HOW AMAZING! I can really tell a difference in your thighs, face, and stomach area how much you have lost! You also look so much more confident! I'm proud of you!

What plan are you following?

What an awesome idea to walk while talking on the phone! THANK YOU SO MUCH for telling us that! I can talk on the phone sometimes for up to 30-45 minutes at a time.....and it goes by so fast....may as well be burning some calories while doing so...LOL! thanks!

Thanks for the invite back! I really appreciate it. Anyways, I've lost 27.3lbs since I joined 3FatChicks in December. I had already lost a good 15lbs previously and was finally starting to get serious about becoming healthier. It was then that I heard about this site from my sister. I am so very glad she mentioned it! I've found the greatest support and many answers to my questions here. I look forward to getting to know you all better and the chance to help each other along on our journey's.

In response to any bad habits you've dropped or good habits you've acquired, I'd like to share a few of mine.

1) Exercising, and in general moving more!

2) Adapting to eat an organic/all natural diet

3) Making the choice to go Vegetarian

4) Loving myself more each passing day..

I'm starting this challenge at 177.5 lbs, and would like to be just under 170 by Memorial day. My ultimate goal is 128 lbs. I would prefer to accomplish that by the end of this year, but if it takes longer I'm more than willing to work for it!

Hey, DIARY!!! I didn't know you were on this one!

***Diary is my sister, for those who don't know***

Yeah so I decided my end-of-year goal would be to hit Onederland... then I realized that's less than 2 lbs per week. THAT is encouraging.

One bad habit I've pretty much done away with is FAST FOOD. I've gone from two or three fast food meals per week to having eaten fast food only twice this year, and one of those times was on a twelve-hour drive from Indiana to North Carolina. I quit smoking, too, but that was technically last year (12-27-2008) so I don't know if I should count it as a bad habit kicked this year. AND I've started exercising regularly and drinking soda pop maybe twice a week instead of all day long every day. Wish me luck!

Ohhh, I like this challenge! I'm starting my new exercise program tomorrow morning. The good change in my life since January is that I'm back to exercising regularly. I had dropped my routine for 6 months and had the extra 20 lbs to show for it, too.

I like your idea, Eny of giving us realistic goals for the 6 weeks.

I'll be modifying my ticker to show my next major goal for myself--157--that would represent 10% loss. This is not necessarily what I am trying to reach by Memorial Day, just the next major milestone for which I get to purchase some yarn to feed my knitting habit.

Melissa - I love the new challenge of walking across America and making each minute count! Yay!

Eny - Thanks for keeping track of all our weight loss progress!

Lori - Congrats on your weight loss! It's very inspiring!

I still have many bad habits but I am working on them. I want to exercise regularly and stay between 1200 - 1500 calories per day. The one bad habit that I have improved on is drinking soda...I used to drink it all the time every day and I have changed that.

girls!

Thanks for the email Eny. You know I'm with you till the end.

Great challenge, Mel!

I broke my scale exile for you guys and I weighed in at 261.4 so I haven't gained anything since hiding the scale, which is a good thing. Not stepping on the scale again till April 30th.

I promise to be more active in this challenge! I've got a couple of 3FC angels watching my back.

I can't say I've totally broken any bad habits but I have gotten better at skipping the soda. Also, I've been consumed a whole lot of green tea and sweet potatoes the last couple of weeks. Better than soda and candy, right?

Hey all,

So I thought about my habit breaking

1 - I gave up Fizzy Drinks, this was hard, I drank a bottle (small) of Dr. Pepper every day at work, and omg I love that stuff, jsut thinking about it is making me want it

2 - I started to move more, I need to start movign even more though, and walking across america is going to be so cool.

3 - I ignore biscuits at work, I never used too, although last week I didn't as I was super stressed in my new role, so Slap me silly.

4 - I do things for me, I always put other people 1st and I've tried to think about me for a change.

Oh well, anyway It's Easter Monday and I have to go to my parents for Dinner, My mum always cooks a gorgeous roast dinner and I am going to bake some low fat cookies for us to eat.

My dad was diagnosed with lymphoma last year and has been treated, he is also Hugely overweight, and I want him to lose it, he cant just give up on stuff because he has cancer, that may even be ok. He went for a CT scan and they found what they thought to be fibrosis in his only functioning lung, turns it its fat and the Thoracic specialist recommended weight loss (YEY HIM) at least my Dad listened to him, so he was advised to get referred for a gastric band, My dad knows I dont agree with these, (personal choice nothing against people who have had them) and decided to try himself, I think he may be getting xenical though. So I am helping him with meal plans and idea's and busting his butt if he looks at bad foods, so far he doing ok, but I want to give him a treat as he usually gets chocolate this time of year. I really hope he sticks to it.

Anyway enough of me depressing you guys, have a great day

I can't wait to get going on the Walking Across America mini challenge. I love to walk...it gives me lots of time for reflection on my plan.

I have a lot of bad habits and I'm trying to deal with one at a time. My big one is that I am a night time snacker. Before you could catch me eating at any given hour of the night. (I don't sleep well and I fill the hours with TV and snacking.) I have tried setting cut off hours and have slowly made those times earlier and earlier. Where I used to be snacking yet at midnight, I am down to 9 PM, with very few slip ups. I want to make it 8 PM someday. And I will!!

I'm at 203 this morning. I've got to lose weight to fit into my mother of the bride dress that I bought a couple of weeks ago. You gals have all inspired me to work hard to make it happen. Let's-do-it!!

Hi, Everyone!!! I'm one of the dropouts Eny PM'd, and so here I am. Thanks for bringing me back to the fold Eny.

I started a great habit (or new addiction I guess it is) January 6th, RUNNING! I love to run, and got pretty fit quickly. I have trouble cutting my calories while I run, so my weight loss has been minimal, but I'm happy with improving my fitness. In September, I was wearing a size 32 Seven jean, and this weekend I bought a replacement pair, size 29!! Yay!

I still have to lose some weight, so I will need to focus on my diet, which has been slacking the last few months.

I'll post what your weekly loss goal is for the challenge and where it will make you end up in a moment.

I need to join you in the no fast food! It is probably my biggest downfall! Have you seen the billboard that says "You say potato, I say Awesome" and has a picture of a Medium fry... yea, that's my mindset! UGH!

That's AWESOME that you quit smoking! It counts... I for one know that smoking is SO hard to quit! I swear everyday I feel like I'm quitting all over again - especially when I'm pregnant. Apparently I crave things that I CAN'T have just because I can't have them! I've wanted a pack of smokes and a beer for 2 months now!

WAY TO GO on the That's AWESOME! You'll be great at the challenge to get across the US then! You don't have to cut a lot of calories, especially if you're regularly running... just a little bit will make a HUGE difference! Slow and Steady....

Ok I'm off to post the weekly weight loss goals for everyone who's signed up so far!

REFLECTIONS/MEMORIAL DAY CHALLENGE GOALS

Ok girls - I'm setting your goals for this challenge. Your goal stays the same through out the challenge... EVERY WEEK this is what you need to hit. If you lose mor ethen this - AWESOME - but it by NO MEANS gives you the right to slack off the next or following weeks. If you DO NOT hit your goal loss then you start over the next week WITH THE SAME GOAL IN MIND! I have taken where you are NOW and looked at where you want to be at the end of DECEMBER and figured out how much you need to lose EVERY week from now til then to hit that goal. KEEP THAT IN MIND - IF YOU HIT THIS GOAL EVERY WEEK FROM NOW UNTIL THE END OF THE YEAR YOU WILL HIT YOUR GOAL... AND THEY ARE ALL ACHIEVABLE!!!

  • NAME/WEEKLY GOAL/END CHALLENGE WEIGHT IF HIT
  • bjeweled/.9/179.9
  • ChopperChick355/.7/183.6

Like I said NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO SLACK OFF IF THEY HIT THEIR GOAL ONE WEEK! THE WEEKLY GOAL IS SET FOR EVERY WEEK OF THE CHALLENGE. IF YOU MISS IT - THEN YOU HIT IT THE NEXT WEEK. I WANT EVERYONE TO WORK HARD - AND HIT THESE GOALS!!!

Anyone that signs up for this challenge after this point - that's fine as well. I will PM you your weekly goals so that you're sure to see them.

ALL WEIGH INS ARE DUE TO MY THROUGH PM BY MONDAYS AT 11:59 PM (EST). IF YOU MISS 2 WEIGH INS IN A ROW YOU'RE OUT OF THIS PORTION OF THE CHALLENGE... OTHERWISE IT'S JUST TOO HARD FOR ME TO KEEP UP WITH WITH STATS AND SUCH. FIRST WEEK WEIGH INS ARE DUE APRIL 20TH! STATS WILL BE POSTED ON TUESDAY MORNINGS.

If for some reason you do not feel that your goal is attainable anymore, please PM me and we will readjust. I know there are a lot of ladies that can lose #3 & #4 a week - but most can't, and this is NOT to discourage you... it is to get you to where you need to be!

I started thinking last night about where I was a year ago when I was dropping weight consistently, feeling great, wearing a size smaller, and just in general happy. I remember some daily habits that I had then that I have gradually let go and I have started them up again today. I got up at 5:50 to do Gilad at 6...used to do it every single morning and it felt normal today, like back to the old normal routine.

I have my own detox plan of sorts and am doing that through Wednesday, hopefully I can still come close to my 235 goal for my own WI on Thursday.

I feel really good today and just focused. The fun with the kids last week got something out of my system I guess because I went to the store and had absolutely no desire anything but what I went for....fresh veggies and grapefruit!

I will catch up you all personally in a bit...on a tight schedule today and want to get some bulbs in the ground before the rain hits.
