Y'all have motivated me - I'm in!!!
Thanks for the inspiration! I am a little late, but what the heck. I am setting a goal of 5 lbs by VD.
Background - I have struggled with weight since becoming an adult, ranging from 111 (too thin) to 17? (Far too heavy). I was sitting comfortably in the high 130's, low 140's for a while, but have been slowly gaining after making some huge life changes. At the beginning of this week, I was 16? (blocked it out). I started an elimination diet four days ago to address health problems and, although it is not the point of my "diet", I have been losing quickly. I have been involved with 3fc in the past. I figured now would be a good time to jump back in. I am going to continue on the elimination diet looking for food allergies and not worrying about weight. Once it is over, however, I would love support in keeping what I may lose off and maybe losing more. 1/17/09 - 157 1/24/09 - 1/31/09 2/7/09 - 2/14/09 - Goal - 152 |
finally getting back to posting. Way To Go for all of those losing. I'm down 1lb this week

:cool:ok girls!!! We will get rid of the weight and feel great. That is my new cheer this year. (I know, way too much poetry)
So, here I am at work the other day and I meet a a person who had bariatric surgery a few years ago. Lost a significant amount of weight and has a new lease on life. They no longer have diabetes or blood pressure issues. They have not quite reached their goal though. Had some trouble with their surgery and is now relying on their own willpower to continue their weight getting rid of journey. What an inspiration. :carrot: Now, I am not advocating surgery. But, their positive outlook and strenght are so inspiring to me. :D Add that inspiration to all of the support that is here and BAM!!!! I know that this is the last time I will get rid of the extra weight.:) I want to say thanks for listening and thanks for all of the encouraging words. I talk about my new friends all the time now. Everytime I think about reaching for the "wrong " thing I think of this forum. Down another 0.5 today. to you all!!!! |
jellofer- I am so glad to see you lose that .5 pounds :woohoo: I also had a friend who had the surgery and she motivates me too ...I know we can all do this and I think having this forum has been a lifesaver for me too :D

Hey there girls!
Just wanted to drop in and see how everyone is doing!!! Lene....Im sure you guys are fine! I love ice cream, that is seriously one of the foods that I could NEVER give up. We try to buy the smallest kind of container they make, so that even if we have some, you really can't have that much. I weigh in on Fridays because over the weekend is when we have our little splurges but then you have the rest of the week to make up for it!!!! you guys can do it!!!! Christian...how do you like your wii fit? I was looking at getting my boyfriend a wii for his birthday next month, but then getting the fit for me. The pictures.....they weren't that bad.....well I mean, don't get me wrong, they were BAD. It's definitely a motivator, also at the same time, I really know now where my starting point is/was and I can't wait to be able to compare them to the thinner/healthier me!! baliey...:wel3fc: Didn't have the best day....not too bad though. I did have a koloche (sp?) this morning with 1/2 a cinnamon roll and some "chalk-it nilk" (compliments of my son) But again, this is why I weigh on Fridays! No big. Took measurements today...WOW! Again...starting point!!! Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday! |
Hi everyone!
:bravo: keeperofthehome! Awesome job on that pound!!! :high: jellofer2 on keeping the positive attitude & on the 0.5 pounds! Did you direct your friend to 3FC? I think there is a forum for those that have had the surgery. :welcome3: baileyseg! We're :) to have you on the journey with us! 5 pounds by :val1: day seems totally doable. (Of course, I'd totally like to do it too!!;)) Buns~:cheer: for getting those workouts in! You are being really dedicated and I'm sure it will payoff! We are having yet another :coolsnow: day here today so I am probably going to get on the elliptical later. to all! |
5 LBS left!
You know, the sad thing is that I'll get to 135 lbs and I'll still think I'm fat...or out of shape. Seems that nothing is working on getting a flatter tummy, does anyone have any suggetions as to how to flatten the tummy???? I do lots of crunches and it doesn't seem to do anything :( Just recently I started working on the ball for this also and I just don't seen to see any difference.
Right now I'm 140 LBS, and my belly is 37" and my waist is 33", that just seems wrong considering I'm 5"7", I really want to concentrate on that area for the next couple weeks.... HELP!!!! |
Oh, backatit, the dreaded, sad belly.....
Unfortunately, the only thing that really works is a combination of ab work (crunches, esp. obliques) and cardio. :( We women cling to that belly fat like it is the last ice cream bar on the truck. It is a direct reflection of your BMI. So, to really get at it you have to reduce your BMI. And to do that, esp. once you have reached your goal weight, you have to trade your fat for muscle. :strong: |
backatit....hey there girlie. So I'm actually reading this book "Making the Cut," by Jillian Michaels (Biggest Loser)... I really think that it might help you. It has a exact plan of workouts and eating, we're talking day by day for 30 days. It was designed for people that are serious about losing that last 10-20lbs of weight. The thing is, "it is physiologically impossible to spot-reduce fat. Fat is systematically across the body, according to patterers established by your individual unique genetics. Target exercising to one region of the body or another won't make fat disappear from the particular region of the body. In fact, it can be counter productive and create the exact opposite of your desired effect. If you do tones of crunches in attempt to flatten your tummy, you can actually build muscle mass underneath the fat, making you "problem area" look bigger. The only way to flatten that tummy is to shed body fat."
The only advise that I give to you is that you might take a little closer look at your diet and find out how your body metabolizes the food that your eating, so that you can eat for you're type. Many times, weight that stays right there in you belly area (man I hate the word belly) is because your body is holding on to it. You might not be eating enough or at least not frequently enough. You should be eating EVERY 3-4 hours and alternating 300 cal meals and 100cal snacks. OK OK OK I'm sorry, I got carried away....I've been consuming myself in reading about the way our bodies work lately....Just some ideas! I know you can do it! Just keep up the hard work! You are doing great!!! EVERYONE....GOOD LUCK THIS WEEK! WE ARE BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, HARDWORKING, STONG WOMEN (AND DH).....WE'VE GOT THIS! |
Hi everyone:wave:
:welcome:Bailyseg! mlholston: Is that your son in your avatar? He is adorable! :congrat:keeper!! :congrat:jellofer!! Wow, Christian you are kicking some wii fit butt! I haven't been on mine in a while. I love my treadmill and "The Beast" (elliptical) I am trying to love. I think hormones are a bit confused lately. I felt down on Saturday for no particular reason and totally unmotivated to do anything. Then I saw TOM (only a little) for the first time in three months. Sunday I felt better and was more motivated. I am just pushing through it. I did lose another pound so that makes 2 of my 10 goal. I don't think that I will make the 10, but that is ok. As long as it goes down, I am happy. Is everybody NOT eating peanut butter right now? I have a jar of natural Peanut Butter and am not sure whether I should throw it out. I might try and go out today and see if I can get a smaller pair of pants for work. Then again...I might talk myself into staying home and reading. NO..I really have to go out. This is what I have been doing to myself all weekend! AAAGGGHHH! Ok...talk to you all later... |
OMG, My weekend was HORRIBLE, I am up 2.5 lbs and I cant stop eating. Someone needs to kick my butt. Today is a new day, I will do better
|
Good morning girlsssss, hope you all ha d a great weekend.
Things are going good here, I will be back soon to give you an update andmore info on my plan, etc. and to do personals. Hattie? I can always tell when TOM is coming from a few days to several days before based on my emotions alone! My hormones do jumping jacks some months and I will get down for no reason, tearful, etc. (like happened this month) but then as soon as TOM comes, it goes away (it is only prior to tom). It is an awful terrible feeling though! If it is still lingering with you , it will pass....hang in there. Hattie, good idea gettingout for a bit. Definitely go my lady, buying those new smaller pants and getting out a bit will give a lift....speaking of which, I have been in a lot again and should get my tail out for a bit too! lol : ) wtg on another lb. lost. Ladies, I have much more to tell you and catch up on but I will be back soon. Mads, I love the new pick you put up. Girls congrats on the weight loss and hard work...hope you all had a great weekend. Talk soon |
Neast~ :kickbutt: As requested!
Everyone else~Well, I am trapped in the house for the 3rd straight day. DD#2 has been running a fever, DH & DD#1 were away all weekend at a volleyball tournament, and now my truck in being serviced. We have gotten 16 inches of snow over that period and I will be spending my day shoveling out my mailbox, back door, trash cans, etc., knocking snow & icicles off the roof, stocking wood for fire, and generally digging out. TOM hit yesterday and I am going completely crazy :dizzy: with cabin fever. OH, and DH left this morning for Miami!!!! :beach: Today would be THE perfect day to ski but I can't because a) I can't get there, b) DD#2 is still sick, and c)DD#1 has mid-terms starting tomorrow so she has to stay home and study. OK, that's it. Just a little whine-fest. I don't know if I am going to get in any regular exercise as I am on snow patrol. Think I'll look up how many calories that burns. Hope everyone has a good day!!! |
Neast- You are worth this....dont forget it, you have made a commitment to yourself sis, and dont let yourself back down, you keep your word to everyone else dont you??? Then keep it to you, you are such a sweetheart and I know you will pull yourself out of this ;)
Hattie- I love that you call the elliptical the beast  Cause it sure is one! Madi- Your son is a doll  I LOVE the wii fit!!! You will love it too, I cant hardly make myself quit and that is a new experience for me  backatit- I had the same problem before I did the Micheal Thurman plan, it really is about reducing the bodyfat by eating as clean as possible, I couldnt get the results I wanted with crunches, I got it by eating ....sounds strange huh?? But the truth is in the pant size and I went from a 14 to a 11-12, and only weigh 10 pounds less, and used to be a 14 at 156...so the diet really is 80% of the body fat loss for me. urockmom- I want a snow day :( I havent had but 1/4 inch of snow all year, and I just LOVE it, not ice mind you, but I love the look of snow  Oh and being on snow patrol is exercise for sure! Be sure to count those minutes ;) Also saying a prayer for DD#2 to feel better....enjoy your time with them  Well I already got in my 45 minutes on the wii fit and now I am off to mop and sweep, then rearrange the house a litttle, I am in the mood to get rid of lots of unnessesary items, and bless someone else with them that may actually use them...so after a huge clean sweep this week, it is off to the mission ;) Have a great day ladies!!! |
