Well, I've been on an exercise break for the last two days due to a small physical ailment, which is so incredibly uncomfortable, it's hard to sit or stand. (And I haven't found any exercises I can do laying down yet.) Suffice to say, I hope tomorrow, it's all "behind" me and I'll be back up and pedaling.
BTW, crazy, I think you put the whammy on me!
look at you, your doing awesome.
I have to admit I've been freaking out a bit lately about exercise. I have just reunited with a bunch of my highschool friends online. EEK! I feel like they all look so good and I don't I am going to being meeting up with all of them soon.
does anyone use a pedometer to keep track of your mileage? how about to keep track of WW points?
I have a new pedometer, but it just gives a step count, I don't know how many miles I have gone. I suppose I could measure my stride and figure it out, but wondered if there was a quick way to estimate mileage based on steps? and how to estimate points based on steps? I can plug in time and exertion to the WW points tracker, but my "time" is 8 or 10 hours at work, so that is not very useful.
any ideas?

I have a fantastic pedometer. After wasting $$ on several, my Mom sent me one that is soooo accurate, and awesome. I rates steps, distance in miles, total time, how many steps are "aerobic" and total of "aerobic" time spent, and calories burned. You can put in your stats so I think it is accurate. It is by Omron. I think she bought it online at drugstore.com. I think it was like $20-30 bucks. Well worth it!!!! It is a great motivator.
Anyway to answer your actual question... I know the experts recommend 10,000 steps a day, and that equals about 5 miles. so if you do 5000 steps, it should be approx 2.5 miles etc. You can check out some of the websites. Just google "10000 steps", and several sites should pop up. Hope this helps!
Ok, I had to force it but I got it done...4.1 for total of...............50!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to keep goingof course, and try to catch up to the speed racers that are loggin in the 70's already. I am so proud of us ALL!!
Whoa, I am behind! I put in half an hour on the arc trainer today, and let me tell you, I do not know how they measure mileage, because it only gave me 1.25 miles! Ah, well.
24.25 + 2.5 = 26.75/50... Gotta move 23.25 miles in 10 days...
I don't think I've ever walked this many miles in one month before! So proud of myself! Congratulations to those who have already reached the 50mi mark!

Wow! It seems that everyone is really piling on the miles! I had to go to the doctor yesterday and she asked, "Do you exercise three times/week?" and I got to say, "You bet!"
Oct. 21: 2 miles on elliptical
Oct. 22: 0.5 mile swim
to Lewis and everyone who has made 50!!!
