I bet you're good at them too! I'm awfully uncoordinated...therefore I HATE the balance games. I really should practice more...

I pulled a muscle in my neck so I've missed WiiFit for three days. I will try tomorrow, I miss it.

Great job everyone!:carrot:

hello

Hello wii chickies.
I am new to this thread, got my wii and wii fit for Christmas. I have been using it regularly, in addition to other exercises. I read thru some of the earlier posts, and was interested to see people really getting into some of the exercises I haven't bothered with at all yet.
I generally warm up with basic step then advanced step. Then do some strength training and balance. Right now, since its winter, I have been doing the ski and snowboard balance games only, tried the penguins, but prefer the ski stuff.
If I am not doing other aerobics things I do a run. Have lugged my nordictrack out of the closet after years and use than for the free run, I have got up to 20 minutes. SOme days I get out to cross country ski or have a long walk with my dog instead, so I don't do much on the wii. For January, I racked up 20 days of exercise, out of 31, so that is a big improvement on virtually zero. (and that was with my aging parents having health crises, that had me spending days in hospital by their sides, or driving for hours on end between them and my home etc, so I am pleased with myself)
I am pretty out of shape and getting back to fitness.
I moved to the country 1.5 years ago, and its too far to drive to a gym. I do yoga and pilates classes in the village once a week each, but no aerobics. I like the winter activities, (cross country skiing and walking are my only voluntary aerobic exercises) so using the nordictrack fits well for me.

I am glad to hear there are other programs for the wii fit available. To me that is going to be a real advantage over going to the gym etc. Are there programs two can do? I can imagine couples or family teams (mother daughter for instance) wanting to work out together, two balance boards, one program.
We also have ddr, my daughter uses it alot. I got her rock band as well. So the wii in general gets lots of use.
So I am here to be more accountable, make sure I am exercises most days.
I am not at work the first 3 weeks of this month, so I hope to get really regular now, so I can keep up the habit when I start back to work.
:D

I did 14 minutes of free step with the balance board on top of my small step. It hurt!

Nope my balance is awful! Ive always been a clutz and my MG makes me terribly off balanced too. Thats why I do like them anything to strengthen my balance. And Ive gotten better and its really fun!
Right now Im on a aerobic step kick. Ive been doing that one a lot.

fatmad 02-09-2009 11:04 PM

I have managed to keep it up. I haven't tried much new for a while though. One thing I wish I could do is track exercise I do without the fit...like my yoga and pilates classes or if I go cross country skiing. That way I could track my exercise all in one place. But c'est la vie. Now that the weather isn't so good for skiing, I am back to my nordictrack and the free run.
Duin....good for you to join ww and get exercising. I didn't really start with fitness for a while after I made some diet changes.
I only do the skiing balance games so far, don't like the others much

I just got my Fit last night. Did an hour and a half playing around with it. My goal is to get 5 hours a week in. Definitely a fun way to work out!

fatmad - There actually is a way to track yout activities outside of wii fit on it. It's somewhere in the graph page I think.

I've only been using it about twice a week. It's better than nothing, but I need to get more disciplined.

Hi girls, I just got my wii and wii fit saturday and figured I would come in and say hi and introduce myself.

I really love it, My goal is to still keep the current traditional exercise I am doing (treadmill and upper bod strength training) and have the wii as extra. My Dh loves it and thatmakes it more fun for me but I beat his scores today and I hope he finds time to beat me to keep it interesting, lol. Anyways, I was wondering, those of you who had it awhile. do you find yourselves getting bored with it or is it keeping your interest?

Once you unlock everything on the screen, is that it? for exampl, I unlocked the free step (last thing on aerobics). I lvoe the hula hoop you guys and I love the step.......just love the aerobics. I heard a few of you say your bank turns bronze, what happens then? hope there are some more suprises.

Well girls, hope we can hang a bit... nice to meet you all.

back again, i just saw a post there. fatmad there is the activity log in wii fit where I beleive one can post activities outside of wii and record it there on the graph.........I have yet to do so as I personally record all of my activity in a journal and only the wii stuff in wii but I know that you can record some of your extra curricular activities in wii via your graph and then activities log in wii fit.........good luck. Night all, catch you soon.

I do the wii fit, I really like the boxing. It makes me sweat. I dont really bother with the balance games though, I just dont find that they do anything for me.

Hi everyone!

Haven't been by in a while and have been only doing my Wii Fit about once or twice a week for the past month, but I'm also doing loads of "outside exercise," which is paying off too.

Just wanted to pop in and say hello!

Keep up the good work, everyone! It's so much fun to have a little PLAY in the workout. :carrot:

I'm finally getting back to playing after being sick for over a week. The 3 minute hula hoop left me so exhausted that I can't imagine doing the 10 minute one. Hopefully it won't take too long to work up to it.

I got DDR for the wii to add to my exercises. It's a lot of fun and really helps get my heart rate going. I don't like the songs as much as some that I've played before, but I can find a few that I like.

Hello, I have not been on this site in a while(since 2006) however in reading the prior messages lets me know the wii can help me lose weight. I just got mine. I used the wii once so far and I loved it. I am usually home after 10p four nights a week very tired. I have to motivate myself to exercise daily in the morning. I usually wake up very very tired. I sleep well however I have little energy when I actually lift my head from my pillow. If I can get past this, I know I can be more committed to exercising in the mornings.
