Ali, from the Biggest Loser, really did look PHENOMENAL didn't she? It was so amazing to see the changes in her! And inspiring! I hope I have shoulders as pretty as hers when I'm at goal!

If you are already doing that much exercise you can easily start a running program, if you want to. But walking is super good for you too, so no real need to change what you're doing unless you've got a real hankering to be running!

I run so much because I'm following a training plan for a marathon race in the fall. What's amazing is that the marathon is 26.2 miles long, right? Well guess how many training miles have to be run in preparation for that one race? Over 37 weeks I will run 778.5 miles in preparation. I find that totally mind boggling! To-date I have run 87 of those miles. Seems impossible to me, but so far so good!

I hope everyone has a whoosh on the scales tonight!

OMG yes Ali did look wonderful. You can't even tell that she was ever over-weight .... most of the time you can tell when someone loses a huge amount of weight like that.

Tyler- Your right with my numbers. I was just so happy to see 229 that I didn't care that there was a .6 next to it.
Wow! You go girl My reward for getting to my next goal is to join curves. It's a light workout but it's been awhile ...light is better than nothing at this point. Keep us updated on your marathon race...would love to hear how your coming along getting ready for it

Josephine, you're awesome! Thanks for compiling everyone's stats.

I agree w/everyone - Ali looked abso-frickin-lutely amazing.

Alas, I'd lost 4.5 lbs this week, before I joined this board, (so I expect no credit,) and now I'm up .5lb. No biggie - it was a good day. Good workout, good restraint w/food.

Power to the 5lbers!

Leeza

165.5 ... 166...161.5 > up .5

p.s. Mamatoni - my boys are 6/05 and 3/07 - pretty close! Stroller walks are my main way of getting workouts in and keeping them from losing it - they get snack cups, we all get out of the house, and I get my HR up

leeza - do you have a stroller suggestion? The double one that we have is AWFUL and I am toying with the idea of buying another, but don't know if it will be worth the money.....

Mamatoni - it's so tough to find a good stroller! I've got the Phil & Ted's single, with the double adapter. It has worked really well for us - it's not a jogger (but then, neither am I!) It is all terrain, yet narrow enough to go into stores without worrying about taking out a fixture or a sales clerk. Since you can use it single or double, it was my only stroller purchase outside of the snap 'n go that works with the baby carseat. It's not cheap - none of the great ones are They pop up on Craigs List sometimes, and I picked mine up online with a discount. I also LOVE the BOB strollers, and since DH is picking up jogging, we might consider one. Good luck!

Welcome tzfardaha! We are in a race to see who can lose 5 pounds first -- but never worry, whoever wins the race will start the next 5lb challenge thread and we will keep going from there!

Walking while pushing a double stroller has GOT to be great exercise! There is a guy in my neighborhood who runs with a double stroller that seems to be carrying 2 ten year olds -- I mean these kids are HUGE! That has to be double-tough!

Losing4another -- you can get a fabulous workout at Curves, I think that is a wonderful way to reward all your hard work!

Down .2 this morning Everything counts right?

Start Weight: 232
Current Weight: 229.4 (-2.6)
Challenge Goal Weight: 227

I'm going to get myself to a weight watchers meeting this morning. Haven't been in 3 weeks and was kicking around the idea of quitting. Changed my mind ...going to suck it up and go.

Fat chick~ With gas prices you know running would save you money.
I do want to start now.... BUT one more pound and I met my reward. I started out telling myself I would start after 3 weeks of food tracking (my biggest down fall with dieting) then I changed it to 228 or 3 weeks of food tracking which ever came first. Looks like the weight loss will get me there first YAY!!!

Tyler~ YAY! on your weight loss Geeze ten year olds? That makes me wonder ...does the guy make huge kids or is really making his ten year olds get in a stroller for a work out... whatever works.

tzfardaha...jump right in and join the fun

Good morning,
I'm down another pound, so:

217...213...212>1 lbs to go.

What kind of scales do you have that weigh ounces too?

I need to start working out again. My neck and my knees feel better, so it's time to get back to it.

I'm impressed, Tyler, by your running. I'm surrounded by runners. My husband is doing a 10K on Memorial Day, and is training for a half marathon at the end of the summer. My sister does triathlons. Every once in a while I'll get bored of walking and try to run, but my knees just don't like it. I can do HIIT without too much trouble, but as soon as I try to run I just fall apart.

You all are doing great!! Hang in there this weekend! We can do it!!!
