Quit smoking. Wife went on a diet and I didn't want to binge out in front of her so I changed my eating style as well. That got me going and now I love to eat good & right.

What was the "trigger" or incident that made you decide it was time to lose weight and become more fit? I quit smoking on January 2nd and new that if I didn't diet at the same time I ould gain even more weight.
What do you struggle with the most on this journey to health? I really haven't struggled too much. I eat basically what I want. This time hasn't been too hard. I have had a few days where I have eaten poorly, but I have been able to pick myself up and start over every time.
What are three things in the area of diet/exercise you need to improve? I need to exercise more, hopefully my doctor will release me soon.
I need to do some weight training and not just cardio to build up lean muscle.

What are your fitness/health goals? be a normal/fit weight for my height, be able to run up hills with the dog team without being totally out of breath at the top (or halfway to the top and having to walk), having more energy to play with my son and do things with him, and just not feeling fat and old looking (ever notice how much younger people look when they lose the weight?)
What was the "trigger" or incident that made you decide it was time to lose weight and become more fit? Getting on the scale at my sister's house last week and seeing it read 229, my highest weight ever!
What do you struggle with the most on this journey to health? I haven't been struggling at all, that's the problem. I'm not inactive, but I haven't watched what I've been eating and I haven't done anything "more" in the exercise department to try and lose the weight. I just don't want to keep going on and doing nothing about it, getting 10 lbs bigger every year.
What are three things in the area of diet/exercise you need to improve? I usually don't eat until I've been up about 7 hours, then I throw something in (whatever is quick), then don't eat again till dinner, then probably eat enough for 3 people, then I stay up late and usually get hungry right before bed, and have a snack that would be a normal meal for a healthy person. I think, if I eat normal portions, eat often enough not to be "starving" when I do eat, and then do more exercise than I'm already doing, then I can lose the weight.

What can you not wait to wear when you are at goal weight or size? Just clothes that fit, maybe a belt and a tucked in shirt, without the belly bulge, and a t-shirt for skating, because right now I wear a long sleeved shirt over, and it's way too frigging hot when we're all dancing.

What was the "trigger" or incident that made you decide it was time to lose weight and become more fit? Once again trying to lose baby weight. I had finally gotten into 1 pair of size 4 for the first time in my ENTIRE life about a month before I found out I was expecting again. They haunt me from the closet now. I was basically on bedrest with both pregnancies so yeah a ton of weight gain.

What was the "trigger" or incident that made you decide it was time to lose weight and become more fit? It was a combination of things, having a son who is very physically active, he is a black belt in Tae Kwon do and lifts weights, also a daughter who wants to be in Karate, Swimming, gymnastics, I need to keep up and be there for both of them. But in particular I think it was reading YOU on a diet by Oz and Roizen and having alot of those moments of saying "that is why I'm still fat and have not kept the weight off".
What do you struggle with the most on this journey to health? It was exercise at first and now I love it. It was staying away from sugar and now that is no problem. I weigh myself too often and get disgusted when the scale doesn't move.
What are three things in the area of diet/exercise you need to improve?
Water consumption, stop weighing myself daily, change up my exercise routine, I do the same thing most days

Occupation: I'm a production assistant at a winery (central Calif.) This make the calorie counting a little difficult seeing as sometimes wine tasting is part of the job. Thankfully alcohol laws being what they are, I have to "spit" at work. Gross I know, but it's better than getting drunk on the job.

What was the "trigger" or incident that made you decide it was time to lose weight and become more fit? This is kind of funny. I decided it was time because EVERYONE is pregnant right now (well, a lot of people at least.) We want to start a family in a year or two (start trying that is) and I want to be a healthy weight so I have a better chance at a healthy pregnancy.

Fitness/Health goals: To get my psoriatic arthritis under control so I can work out like I need to. Also, it has been since before birth of my oldest since I could tuck my shirt in or buy off the rack. Weighed 110# when I married in 1989 , and then gained 80# when preg with my oldest. Lost 50# and then gained 20# withn second child. Then up to the 170's-180's for most of the next 5-7 years until I was diagnosed with my auto-immune disease. Started prednisone and a bunch of other meds over the years, and now I look like the Goodyear Blimp! Have not been able to get/stay under 200# for 5 years now or work out effectively. Just walking a mile a day make my legs bruise in clusters around the knees. But I have found lots of encouragement in this place, and I WILL succeed in getting to my goal of 150#, then I will tweak weight down, hopefully to 125#. Looking forward to buying of the rack,and NO MORE STRETCH PANTS!!!!
