Well... avoided the bagels and donuts at work, but we went out to lunch and... success/fail moment. Success - I had a chicken taco salad, no sour cream, no cheese, didn't eat the taco shell. Fail - um, a couple of handfuls of tortilla chips and salsa (it's veggies, right?). Didn't have any afternoon snacks but when I got home, DH and his buddy decided to BBQ some hotdogs, so I had what was supposed to be my lunch (bbq chicken and steamed broccoli). So I went slightly off track but I don't think it was a disaster.

Tomorrow will be horse riding (hopefully before it hits 95) and then buying a new BBQ - ours doesn't light easily (you need a 14 inch lighter and steady nerves) and I want one that I can use when DH is back in LA. I'd love to be able to grill fish and chicken but I don't use the BBQ as I hate lighting it. So - a new one is on the cards. I think we can spend around $200 and get a pretty good one - the current one was $100 five years ago and still works just fine if you don't mind risking your eyebrows every time you light the thing!

Love2b - green tea is full of catechins (gotta love Google!) which are anti-oxidents and help with your skin health and various other health benefits. Also has EGCG which is some long Latin-sounding thing that's supposed to assist with weight loss. And improve your good cholesterol. Seriously - Google green tea benefits and you'll see how much it's good for! But like many people, plain green tea sort of reminds me of warm pee, so I only buy the kinds with additions such as lemon, or as I mentioned before, honey, lemon and ginseng, which is my absolute favorite.

Hi chicks! I had a woosh! 2.1 lbs, I knew it would happen, just didn't know when. Today I had 1390 cal. , still didn't go over 1400 cal limit, but close. That is plenty for me, I actually have to search for more food to eat and I'm not even hungry, that's the only way I can keep my calories from being too low. 1300 is actually where I usually end up, that's perfect. But, I guess I still lose weight at 1300 cal, not maintain. I think the spurts of jogging in with my 40 min. power walk every morning, after breakfast really allows me up those calories. Plus, I'm burning some of that huge breakfast I just had! Yes, I eat a 600 to 700cal. breakfast, the biggest meal of the day for me!

Hello Fellow Challengers!!!
Today is a great day. I finished my workout for the day...30DS Level3!! I feel wonderful. Almost a week into the challenge and I feel progress coming. I've been enjoying the running I'm doing but not thinking about becoming a "runner".
Fruitlady - That is a great whoosh. Keep up the good work.
Jules - It doesn't sound like you did too much damage. Salsa is only 10 calories for two tablespoons. If you had a huge cup and a large bag of chips you're good. Only thing you may want to consider is the salt intake may cause water retention. On the green tea, how about the lemon flavored green tea made by Lipton? I like them but wasn't sure how good they would be for me.
M3 - I understand how you feel. I would be over the moon. You are exactly right though you are looking good!!

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:Let's keep the progress going we will be happy as can be at the end of the challenge!!

LOL, thanks that made me chuckle, it does look like pee. My son and I were talking about that the other day. I have read/heard about the weight loss part, but I don't see where it has made a difference for me. I have been drinking green tea for years. Do you think that it helps with weight loss? I even bought that Wu-Yi tea that didn't work either. Maybe the other benefits of it work and I just don't know it :D. Thanks again

This is so inspiring!! Didn't weigh myself this week but I already feel so much better. I did an awesome job of counting calories everyday, and increasing my exercise.

CorinneIrene 07-10-2010 10:15 AM

Morning ladies. I seem to have taken a slight hiatus this week- bad idea for me!

Jiggle- Congrats on your progress!

Fruitlady- I love whooshes! Congrats!

Jules- Sounds like you did well! Salsa is a nice snack to have. I'm sure you didn't do any damage. Enjoy the riding!

Lori- Glad to hear everything is going well! And major congrats to your son and daughter!

Mermaid- Looking good girl!!

Everyone I missed- Keep up the good work!!

I have had a terrible week and I'm just going to lay it out because I need to feel accountable and break this cycle. I only exercised 1 day this week because of my crazy work schedule- but, that's not the worst thing.

I've made some terrible food decisions- I snacked a lot on my one overnight and ate cake and cookies...and cheese and crackers. It's so tough doing overnights at work because the shelves are stocked full of goodies and there is nothing else to do but snack...I honestly got all of the cleaning done in an hour and when I'm sitting there on my computer, I feel the need to chew. I wish I had brought gum with me to stave off any cravings. On Wednesday, I felt the need to celebrate Spain's advancement to the World Cup final with a big bowl of ice cream- not the normal 1/2 cup serving size. I didn't count calories at all this week either. Thursday I played it pretty healthy until I decided to have a cookie from a local bakery- seriously the best cookies around, and big...I had a smaller one but I'm sure there were a lot of calories. And Friday I had two more cookies from the same bakery, as well as lots of snacking at work. Also had a regular soda...eek.

Okay, so I needed to get that off of my chest to move on! I like feeling accountable and now I know I've got to push it to keep going- I haven't weight myself yet...I'm giving myself a few days to get back on track. All in all I'm settling with myself and not getting disappointed. It's just a little set back that I am entirely in control of.

I've been doing much better today- eating healthily and tracking calories again. I'm doing a 14 hour shift today so I brought my ab DVD and resistance band to get a little exercise in, lol! I also brought in some of my fresh picked veggies for meals.

Alright, off to put in a movie for the ladies on this rainy day, now that I've written a book!

misspriss78 07-10-2010 10:53 AM

Morning

I got
zero sleep last night. It was about 11pm when i went to bed but wasn't really tired, I read until 1am and still wasn't tired but tried to sleep:mad:
just tossed and turned all night...ARG! I think a lot of the problem was that i went to bed kinda hungry. I did munch on some deli meal about 2am. I was desperate at that point. finished my day @ around 1395.
Im proud of myself because my mom came over and spent the night bringing a
Pizza Hut Meat lovers pizza with her and i could smell it as soon as she walked in the door,LOL ( :drool: ) But i didn't have any :yes: I told myself that i could have pizza when i planned for it.

Today's workout will be later...a lot later today. Im doing some upper body weights and maybe a power walk on the treadmill.

To add to the Green Tea conversation, My favorite is Chamomile green tea, OMG sooooo good. I wlll put some splenda in it and its like a calorie free treat. YUM

Hello to everyone..stay cool:cool:

JD-P90x advice...lets see. Have a time put aside everyday just for p90x, make sure to let others know that that time is your p90x time so you won't be interrupted. Take before pictures!!!!! Don't get frustrated! When i first did the plyo workout i was gasping for air and had to stop the dvd...it made me feel like a bum,lol...but i went online and quickly learned a LOT of people have to pause during the plyo workout. Thats all i can think of right now. You can go on beachbody.com and there are P90x checkins on there, there very helpful and encouraging. Keep us updated on your progress!!!(sorry, Im not much for advice on p90x because i didn't complete the program
:( i get bored very easily and have to keep switching up my workouts/instructors :^: I do Love Tony though, he's very inspiring, and not hard on the eyes;))

~~~~~~EDIT TO ADD~~~~~
My workout is done. Decided on a full body weight lifting dvd. Burned 435 calories :woohoo: So glad that's over, now i can get on with my day and its lunch time! PIZZA ANYONE?
ok later gators:cool:
Hi ladies!
So I'm not feeling to great this week - usually when i eat well, I am full of energy and happy. I'm going to make extra sure to watch everything, and make sure nothing "sneaks" by me this week. I don't think I have been getting enough veggies. I'm not subbing with junk food (i don't even buy it anymore) but I think i might have gone over on dairy, and under on greens. Well, I will find out!
Matilda08 07-10-2010 02:03 PM
Hey everyone!
had a busy day and just got home a little while ago. I had to take the car in to be serviced (it took 4 hours!) They gave me a loaner so I went shopping!
Guess what I got!?! SIZE 10 JEANS!! I went to Old Navy and was happy to see they had their jeans on sale again. I got another pair just like the TSP's only in size 10 this time. They pulled up and buttoned and zipped without any struggle! They're a ltttle tight in the legs, but no muffin top. I was all by myself and really wanted to squeal, but I didn't.
I also bought 3 pairs of PJ's two are size medium and one is a size small! I grabbed the size medium and it was too big, so I had to go back for a small! I was just in disbelief! I had a very good day :O)
Now, to see a REALLY GOOD weigh in tomorrow morning. I've been stuck at 184.3 for a bit and really want to see that go down.
Ok, gotta go feed my kids some supper!
Lori259 07-10-2010 06:52 PM
THANKS A ZILLION~So far no more falls!LOL ~
yeah amelia My son is smart on that family Feud! He is quite the helper!
Congrads to u susie!
Hugs to all TTYL ~Still sore Hurts to sit in chair very long
