Just wanted to say that I added up my daily calorie average for this past week and it was 1772! My goal is 2000-2100. Yay! I have a weigh-in tomorrow (week 2) as well, so I'm excited to see what happens.

yay on the lower calories...good luck on your WI today, keep us posted!

So...no applebee's today,i went on there website and they don't have nutrition facts listed. DH and the kids want to go to sonic now, i should be able to get something good there with my higher calorie day today. Plus im doing a full body weight lifting workout.

Staffytaffy-Nice job on focusing on maintaining. Its hard to do that when there is so much good food around.

It has been a few days since I checked in here, so Melwolfe, I didn't see your cake recipe in time for my family reunion. However, it looks delish, and I love strawberries, so I have copied it out for the next occasion when I have to take food, which is a charity brown-bag auction near the end of October.

I survived the reunion Saturday without too much overeating. I did sample many different items, but small portions of everything. However, just having things like banana pudding and cheese potato casserole left me in a craving mood. Yesterday I just kept going to the kitchen wanting to eat.

Fortunately there wasn't anything too unhealthy in the house, and then this morning I weighed and found that I had not gained weight, so I feel as if I have avoided what could have been a real stumble.

Saffytaffy, I am so with you. Getting back to the regular grind keeps me on track. Special occasions are great, but having a routine definitely makes it easier to avoid trouble.

Hi Ladies Today was grocery day, I'd like to share my goodies with you.

Apples, Strawberries, Mandarin Oranges, Red Grapes, Bananas, Cherry & Grape Tomatoes, "Regular" Tomatoes, Cucumber, Green Peppers, Leaf Lettuce, Broccoli, Frozen Mixed Vegetables, Garlic Cloves, Onion, Russet & Sweet Potatoes, Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts, Lean Ground Beef, Salmon & Pollock, Chicken Breast Deli Meat, Black Beans, Skim Milk, FF Sour Cream, LF Cream Cheese, 'Partly Skim' Mozzarella Cheese Strings, Marble Cheese, Yogurt, Eggs, 100% Whole Wheat Spaghetti, English Muffins, Bagels, 100% WW Bread, WW Mini Tortillas, Brown Rice.
And in the way of "packaged" foods, all I got was: Whole Grain Breakfast Bars, Almond Bars, Pudding Cups, ZERO Calorie Drinks, Crumpets (which I'm thinking about ditching), All Natural Peanut Butter (100% Peanuts), 'No Sugar Added' Jam, Low-Sodium Chicken Broth, Mustard, LF Mayo, Sugarless Gum.

First time EVER that I didn't buy 10+ frozen dinners and a truck load of chips and chocolate, I'm very proud of my choices, I think it's nicely (and realistically) balanced.

Good Morning Ladies

Hope every one had a nice weekend,I know I did,as I lost 1 lb at this morning W-I.Now if I can just bottle what I did to lose the pound and continue during it that would be the best. The only thing I did differently was to up my calorie range[1300/1700] a bit,and not be so severe with my low/high range.[500/1400] as the latter didn't work.

MISS PRISS-The 100 lb over calorie mark is not going to hurt, just add extra activity and you'll be fine. I down thing I as severe with the measuring and weighing like you gals are doing. I use a variety of small to large black plastic plates that I saved from the froz entrees and I use my liquid measuring cups & spoons.

EARTHY WITCH-Don't understand your logic of weighting peanut butter on a food scale. I use TEDDIE Natural PB where you have to stir the fat before using and 2TB is 190 calories. My PB spreads nicely that I use 1 TB instead of two cutting my calories in half. Congrats on your 3.4 lb loss.I guess your doing great measuring all your foods did pay off. Happy it working for you,I can't live like that.

EMILIGH-Congrats on maintaining while being at the reunion. I know it can be hard passing by all the foods but it paid off with your portions that you stayed the same. I'm sure you have a great W-I next week.

Hope you all have a great day,as for me going to hang & veg as I woke up late is going to put a everything I plan for today on hold for tomorrow

Earthywitch..congrats on the losses!
I love your list of fruit and veggies!
I also weigh all my meats and even my veggies. I find weighing my cut up veggies easier than measuring.

Starzmom - Thank you! I find it much easier as well. I like the accuracy, especially with those high calorie gems - like peanut butter, or cheese - that add up. I'm a number lover anyways, lol, I'll probably use my food scale forever.

Hi everyone! I'll be posting here more... I'm a fellow CC. Slowly trying to lower my daily intake from 1800s down to below 1700... I tend to zig zag and today (1306!) is the lowest I've gone since I started!

I find myself eating tons of carbs and I'm trying to correct that. Any tips for high protein foods that are filling, good for you and also low carb? I'm trying to cut peanut butter out of my diet since I find myself eating out of the jar most of the time when I eat it...

loquaciousjogger - Hi I'll assume you are asking for snack suggestions since you mentioned peanut butter. Some good foods to snack on that have decent protein are: Tuna, Cottage Cheese, Hard Boiled Egg, Chicken, Edamame, String Cheese. Hope this helps you with some ideas, I'm sure others will give you lots more.
