FB, I'd wait till your back is healed. After that, though, I'd still recommend you learn it, because you're already DLing at home. DLing is picking up a dead weight off the floor, usually a weight or size that requires two hands to lift. If you pick up a baby, or a kid's toybox, or one end of a couch, off the floor, you're DLing. If you pick up a box of books or 45 lb weight plate, or something else that is heavy, then you'll be glad you learned to do it with proper form using a BB or DBs, because you'll learn to lift heavy things without putting your back at risk. DLing is a fun exercise in the weight room, but it's also a truly functional lift that everybody does whether they know it or not. The difference is, do they know how to do it safely with a heavy weight? That's the value of learning the DL, but yeah, wait until your spine isn't being pulled out of place by a tweaking muscle!
Everybody else ! Wow, you all are doing so well! I don't have much time, so I can't do individual responses right now, but just know I'm reading and thinking of you all today!
My report: I made myself sick yesterday. Too much time in front of the computer monitor, because I left it on even when I wasn't using it. Just killed my eyes and made me nausiated last night. I ended up going to bed early, because I was dizzy and felt like puking. I did the latter before falling asleep, but it didn't help. No workout last night, then I woke at midnight and had a crazy craving for a PBJ. I woke this morning, hoping it was a bad dream, but there was the evidence in the sink...ugh. Back to normal this morning, though, and feeling fine, plus the scale held steady, so the worst of my indiscretion is a minor headache this morning. I really can't eat bread, and I know I can't eat bread, but in the middle of the night, it's like my old self is in control, and the POP Cheryl is napping somewhere, lol.
Today's agenda has me fixing fence at my sister's, then I have to work on the van wipers. Realized there might be a relay or fusible link somewhere, so I'm going to check that before I install the $72 wiper motor I bought. Maybe I'll get lucky and not have to take the dash apart to install the thing. Wishful thinking, probably, but worth a try. I'll check in later!
rodeogirl, I actually added the muffin as a meal instead of as a recipe. It seemed easier. Sorry.
No problem I will too. I tried them tonight the lazy way - they didn't burn at all but I think I filled the cups too full because they didn't cook all the way. I dumped them into a baking pan and am baking them a little longer so the runny parts firm up. Using smaller baking cups is probably a good idea.
I like them and I don't know if I just don't care for the bleu cheese I bought or what but I might try them with a different cheese next time. Normally I love bleu cheese. They are pretty good though and I will def. make them again.
I added Cayenne pepper, sage, thyme, salt and pepper.
I started off with a killer spinning class at the gym (I LOVE LOVE LOVE Spinning!!)
I finished the last of my pre-assembled home-cooked meals. I tell you, after eating the same thing 6 days in a row, even I, the queen of the microwave leftovers, was pretty tired of it.
So tomorrow is going to be a big kitchen day. I'm going to continue the pre-assembled meals because even though it gets monotonous, I think it really sets me up so that it is easy as it can be to stay on plan (all I have to do it say no to the meatball subs at lunch meetings!!), and I really don't have the time (nor the energy!) to spend all Sunday evening cooking more than one lunch dish and more than one dinner dish.
Just to give you guys and idea what my menu looks like:
Meat:
1) Foil Wrapped Side of Salmon with Lemon and Rosemary (food network recipe)
2) Baked shrimp (for the ceasar salad)
Sides
1) Ceasar Salad
2) Cauliflower Fried Rice (Linda's Low Carb website)
3) Revolution Rolls (its a no-carb roll I found on Linda's Low Carb website- I haven't tried it out yet, but we'll see!)
Breakfast
1) Bell Pepper & Broccoli Quiche Muffins
So pretty much I will cook and portion of all the meals for the week into my trusty bottomless supply of tupperware (my housemate must think I have a tupperware fetish), and then that's it for the kitchen for the week!
week two looms- good luck to you all, here's some will power dust to help us get by ladies: GO challenge sweethearts
YAY!

I kind of agree rodeogirl... while the muffins were pretty good, I think it will be even better if I use another cheese. I'm doing the muffins again this week, but will different veggies & cheese for the filling (most likely parmesan cheese).

Evening, ladies! Went skating with some friends tonight. Our usual rink is closed, so we tried another one. Pretty decent music, nice floor, great workout...my feet and legs are toast!

I pretty much live on broccoli, salad, salmon, chicken, an orange or peach, a yogurt, then a protein shake on my lifting days. Makes grocery shopping simpler, at least!
The scale is sticking at 182.4. grr. Well, it has to move eventually, and I should be grateful it didn't rocket up after missing my workout Friday, right? This is me, being thankful for small favors, and all of that. Stupid 180s!
I weighed myself today, thinking I would be at about 162 (I'm SW165) and I was 155 already??!! What?? I'm thinking its because I got my SW at the Doctor's office. I was wearing my shoes, all my clothes, had eaten breakfast already, etc. I'm still grateful! My pants are a tiny bit baggier so I think I'm losing, just not 10 pounds. I think I'll change my goal to 150 now.
I went to the mall today and I'm a SIZE 10!!! and loving it.
On to my next goal... 2 miles without stopping. Oy!
But great job staying on plan everyone!!!!!!! Only a little more than a month until we meet our Valentine's goals!
Today was an on-plan unplanned day. I really didn't plan today, and it ended up working out well. I made shrimp alfredo with spaghetti squash, so dinner ended up being a whopping 762 cals! However, my brunch was only 453 calories (flax roll with cream cheese and smoked salmon- yumm), so in the end it all evened out. I know I should have spread my calories out more throughout the day, but hey, I'm not even gonna sweat it! I enjoyed not planning my sunday- it was much more relaxed than a counting day- but until I get an intuitive sense of how to eat in my calorie range (which I don't have as yet), I should stick to counting every day.
I however did get my cooking done- made the salmon, the cauliflower fried rice, and instead of tuna salad I made salmon salad with the leftover salmon. I tasted and it was delicious! I have a light day tomorrow, so I'll make the revolution rolls & the cheese crackers in the afternoon. I decided to skip on the quiche muffins- right now I'm tired of them. Instead I'll make omelets a few mornings (there really is nothing like fresh cooked eggs!) and see how it goes.
Challenge sweethearts... the week is upon us. Let's muster up all that is within us to reach our goals...

Hi everyone! Just got back from traveling to Texas yesterday... what is it about funerals and eating? I tried to snack on mostly veggies and fruit, but those darn Texas sheet cakes that people bring over were the bane of my existence! And the Mexican food... oh, the food. I did get in one workout at the hotel gym, but that's all. It's back to the grindstone today. I am looking forward to having my first training session with my new trainer this week. Despite having to travel, I did meet my exercise goals, but not so much on the food goals. Oh well. Back to normal life this week!
And YUM - I just discovered the most awesome breakfast. Kashi Summer Berry granola... sooo good when warmed up with a little milk. Delish!
