Well I weighed in and didn't lose an ounce. I was discouraged at the time but I'm over that. I kind of went out of control on Saturday night but even then it was all small servings of ice cream and nachos and cheese, albeit three servings each. Yesterday was totally on plan food and exercise wise and I'm over my little fit of over-indulgence--like that helped!!!

Looks like some of you are doing just great and I guess the rest of us are too but the scales are not showing. There are other indications of weight loss that we need to look at sometimes--loser clothing, bones showing through, shoes not so tight, etc.... Those really count too.

So on to week 2

Looking forward to be able to call everyone a "loser" at the end of the week
A great week you have had. Congrats on the 4 pounds! Keep up the good work. You are over the roughest part, you know. That first week can be a killer.

I hear you. I snacked a little late, last night. Too much sodium and so forth and I am really puffy, this morning. I am such a moron, doing that the night before my weigh in day. I knew that it would reflect badly on my number. And boy, did it. I only showed a 3 pound loss. And I know I lost more, from the way I look and feel. *sigh* Let us raise a toast to lessons learned.

Hi everyone...
I lost 1 pound last week, even with higher maintenance calories and less exercise... I'm going to tweak my exercise routine this week (take out some cardio, put in some weight training) and see what happens.

Rain - 3 pounds is great! But, I hear you when you say you now that you probably lost more than that if you hadn't ODd on the salt the day before weighing...

Kelly - I was doing the 1200-1300 calorie rounding thing for a while, and I know I let myself get too low with the cals sometimes, and way too high sometimes too... Had to get a food scale and stop with the rounding...

dgramie - congrats on the loss!

shy -

ready2lose -

retire - hang in there, you will get back on track!

I have been snacking on 100 calorie bags of microwave popcorn the past 3 nights and feel bloated... and have not seen anymore weight loss although I feel like I could have lost another pound or two... I think I will ax the popcorn before bed.

Hey, everyone. I had an epic bad day, yesterday. I woke up knowing it was going to happen. And I knew there was nothing I could do to stop it. So, I just let it roll. It wasn't because I was hungry or feeling deprived. It was a response to inner pain, turmoil and depression. It didn't help. It never does. But, try telling my brain and heart that when I am in the throes of it. One good thing, because I have been working so hard on my weight and proper eating, a binge day isn't what it used to be. I doubt I did any real, lasting damage. Nothing that a good workout, lots of water and a few days on track won't fix.

I am back on track, today. I am not punishing or beating myself up for this. It is counter productive to do so. I am happy that I was able to go so long between binge days, this time. I made it a solid seventeen days in between. And I know that a lot of that is because of all the wonderful support I find here. And I am so grateful for it. And for all of you.

Sorry for the self absorbed venting.

Rain: Don't beat yourself up... this happens to all of us... but you are correct... having seen that we can do it, we recognize that our binges are not what they use to be. My binge days do not consist of all day eating but just one, sometimes two large treats I cannot have like maybe a pint of ice cream... before...this would have been several treats during the day and three huge meals of whatever I wanted to eat.

YOU SHOULD BE FINE!!!

Hi chickies, can I join you? I was doing WW Flex (with some success) but then reviewed the budget, and it was either the gym or the WW. So WW went, and I am using CalorieKing (which is free here in Australia, apparently you guys have to pay for it?) to track my calories and nutrients.

I am doing the C25K as well. Up to week 2 (go me!) and I haven't stopped yet. It's a bit of a struggle to do it, not the actual jogging, but I'm a chronic procrastinator, so there's always something better to do than go for a run. But I'm sticking with it.

Seventeen days is impressive! And look at what you did - recognised what was happening, and didn't let one slip-up push you off the healthy track you have chosen for your self.

Way to go, Rain Dancer!

Just stopping in real quick to say Hi!

I was gone a long time I know but it was horribly busy the two weeks before vacation, then I was gone a week and its been crazy busy the last two weeks which means I have been gone a while.

I see some new faces and I see my buddies that I have missed OH SO MUCH! I see Tinky left without me for CA. What a stinker.

Besides the craziness at work and vacation I gained but I am losing again. I am having major feet problems that are under control for the most part as of today. Love the chemist who created Niproxen(SP?). I took my first pill last night and today the pain is bearable.

I would love to be able to go back and read everyone's posts but I don't think I will have enough time so I will just go on from here and check in daily, except weekends as always.

Off to update my ticker and back in a while.

I am a big believer in calorie counting, it's the only thing that has worked for me! I've been counting calories for 8 weeks tomorrow & I've lost 29 lbs! I eat between 500-750 calories a day, sometimes more when I slip a little, which thankfully isn't all that often. Keep up the good work people!

I don't mean to butt in here but 500-750 cals can't be nearly enough! How are you feeling?

I feel amazing! I'm not tired, I'm losing weight. The first two weeks were pretty tough, I was hungry all the time, and fact of the matter is, it was simply a habit to eat. Once I got over the first 2 weeks, it was a breeze! Here is is 3pm where I live, I've had water, coffee & 1 x 100 cal pack for food today, and here's the kicker, I'm not hungry! When I'm hungry, I do eat. Something sensible with no to low calories. If I want a snack, I have either, yogurt, 100 cal pack or air popped pop corn. The weight is coming off quicker then I ever imagined when I started 8 weeks ago. I know it's not the "ideal" number of calories one should be eating, but I'm a little bit more determined to be my teenage weight of between 140-150.

Just be careful.... you can't possibly be meeting your nutritional requirements on that many calories. I know we all want to lose our weight quickly but it's more important to be healthy.

In college I lost 60 lbs by seriously restricting and I'm not even joking when I say it came back in less than 2 months when I started eating "normally" my metabolism is a HUGE mess now.

ETA:

Things like 100 cal packs and popcorn are fairly void of nutritional value. If you're going to restrict that far you need to make sure you're at least eating foods that contain nutrients!

I'm no doctor but I've been here and back down again enough to know how it all works.
