Practice and Nixmom, emotional eating is what caused me to regain 15 pounds since July. I'm over that (for now) and on track again. But I'll bet you've got loads of company with emotional eating. I'd guess that a great deal of the weight adult women gain is from emotional eating. (No stats on that, just my opinion.) I've found there's not much I can do when I'm in the middle of a trauma but as soon as I can think straight again I find menu planning really gets me back on track. I have all my dinners planned for the month and posted on the frig. I count calories so everyone eats the same in my house (only DH right now). We rarely eat out so I don't have the problem of trying to calculate restaurant food calories. I do the menu out on my computer and print it off. Right now I've got September, October and part of November planned out. I never have to wonder what I'm going to eat for dinner because it's there posted on the frig. It really keeps me on track.

Anyone else have any strategies for dealing with emotional eating? Let's hear what helps you.

I just popped in for a quick message. I'm just about to go for my first couch to 5k programe! i'm excited and a little nervous hehe.
i'm wearing all blue too even blue socks lol. hehe

day 1 week 1 of couch to 5k programe, goes something like this
5 minute brisk walk to warm up.
and then 20 minutes of alternating between 1 minute jogging and 1 and half minute walking. hope i make it! hehe i downloaded this free podcast to help me, cause i dont like to look at my watch when i'm running. in the past have only managed to run/jog between 1-2 minutes. with lots of walking breaks in between.

have a super day girls!

I had the same kind of day you had... Although I didn't have the breakdown part as badly - just a bit disappointed with myself... But today I am on plan and have already done my C25K workout (W5D1) before work. I think I will plan an walk on the treadmill this evening too OR get myself on track with the situp and pushup challenges... Must hunt down those links again!

Have a great day everyone! GO BLUE!!!!!!!

Just poppin in to say hi!

Had a really good weekend. Only went over cals by 150 each day which is unusual for me. Weekends are really hard I like the accountability thread cause I know I am going to have to fess up so it really kept me in line.

Retired-Great job on foregoing to chips. YOU ROCK!!!

Marianne-Forgive yourself and move on. I like that you already have a plan for today. You are going to do great this challenge. I can feel it.

Good morning Teamies!

Excellent job those of you doing the c25k! That's an excellent program to get you runners going! I've tried it several times and never get past week 4 due to my hips. I've just come to the conclusion that I've never been a runner and I will probably never be one, and I am okay with this. LOL! Maybe when I get to goal I can try again, who knows...

I fell victim to the Emotional eating last night too. *sigh* I could blame TOM showing up and thus so did my scale, but I should know better than to "give in" to that by now. O'well, it's a new day and girls, WE NEED TO GET BUSY! We don't want the Red team to beat us on the first WI do we?!!!! We have our first one coming (no later than Monday), so let's rock-n-roll! Come on!!! We can do it!!!! Plan those meals, get your exercise done, drink that water and if ya feel bad or need to vent, get your butts in this thread and do it! Typing has to burn more calories that emotional eating right? Well, we can try it. hehe!

to everyone. Let's get this done!

{P.S.} Twilightwing: I borrowed your Blue Team sign. I hope it's okay.
