Cathy
The kids looked great bet they had a good time.

Hun
Darn girl, what is up with you lol.

Tina
I went through the same thing with the family, the neighbors, the people at church. 1. I was wasteing my education because I didn't work. OH NO sahm's don't work. I sometimes dreamed of going to carpet land everyday and only having to put up with my kids a couple of hours a day lol. 2. I had time to do all the things " working mothers " didn't have time to do. For heavens sakes, all I did was sit at home and watch soaps. 3. I was a free babysitter. Once again, I didn't do anything but sit at home. When I was needing to work many moons ago my children still needed someone at the house for before they went to school and after they came home from school before I got home. Total 2 1/2 hours. I had to PAY my mother 55 dollars a week to stay with my kids. She lived 10 min from my house. She did not work outside of the house, heck she didn't work inside the house they lived like pigs. She has done everything for my sister all her life and yet my sister is still the low life she has always been and will always be. I on the other hand paid the money because I knew I was never going to have to hear how she did anything for me. She never has and she never will. I am telling you loud and clear. Stop it now, it will never stop if you don't.You have been so nice to help your sister out. Sahm's have enough on their plate. We have arranged our life's for what is best for our family and we don't have all the time that others think we have to sit around and watch soaps lol.

Thank you guys...it means a lot to me! Even though I know all this, and I'm fed up I still feel guilty for some reason! I hate that after 28 yrs. my mom still can get to me....I'm so sick of her crap though. I feel like I've done pretty good for myself and my family, but yet I'm still the one to take all the heat. I moved 45 min. away to not have to deal with all this crap. I've come to the point though that my mom can be pissy if she wants! I'm over her bull and trying to make me feel bad. I have 3 children and a husband that come first to me...not to mention my own sanity! I really do appreciate your listening though and kind words. I just needed to get it off my chest:)

Hun.e.B 05-20-2008 12:40 PM

Tina...you get those guilty feelings because you are a good person and WANT to help whenever you can. There comes a point though when you've got to put yourself first (another reason we get those guilty feelings) Its okay to not let people take advantage of you. Do not let that guilt guide you back to doing something you dont want to do. Thats exactly what everyone is trying to make happen for you, but you are stronger than that!

joylove26 05-20-2008 12:47 PM

Jay41- I’m sooo happy for you. 50 lbs is so awesome. Congratualtions!!!

I totally can’t believe anyone would believe that ozone thing. Anything to blame us for the world’s problems.

Andi- I wouldn’t worry about 1 lb. It most likely is muscle building since you’re doing so much exercise.

Sugar n spice- congratulations on your last day of work. you must be so happy. I hope you get over your cold soon.

Countingdown- yay for a good day, especially when you’re being challenged.

Shelby- I think I might join in on the 5k this time. I know I can do it.

Jlbake-I’m glad the kids’ play went well. Thanks for sharing the pictures. I love theater. I hope you do well with ns if you decide to go with it. Good luck :)

Diva- good job staying op. I know that feeling you’re talking about. I kind of used it as my security blanket or, maybe, a wall to keep people away cuz of fear. Now, I feel the safest I have in my whole life (life has not exactly been rosy up to now) and feel like I can finally let go of this weight. Not that I was holding on to it consciously, but I’ve now realized what I was doing and am trying to undo it.

Tina- I’m so sorry for what you have to go through with your mom. I think you should do what’s best for you and your family no matter what your mom thinks. You know how much you can handle and, really, your kids need you to be at your best. Your sister needs to work out her own problems. Let your mom handle it if she thinks your sister needs help. There’s a reason I moved to Florida, away from my family. Best decision ever! At least you got a good workout out of it :)

Mayness- good job on getting back to exercising!

Jayohwhy- Congratulations on being the biggest loser!!!

Oh yea, and Yay!!! We tied the blue team!

If you won a shopping spree to any store in the world, which store would you pick? And what would you buy? Probably and circuit city or best buy. I love electronics. Also, could be a bookstore since I’m a book nut too. Yea, I’m a nerd. Oooh, actually, I take both of those back. I want to go on a shopping spree in a fitness store. There is all kinds of equipment I would love to have. I want a home gym.

But, I am so back on track and ready to get my act together -- nothing is more depressing than having to lose the same weight twice!!!

I'm right there with you. I have had 4 days of AWFUL eating and little exercise. I just bought a bunch of smaller clothes this weekend and now they are tight (also TOM, but eating has been a big contributor!) I have a feeling this week's weigh in will be BAD!

Jen - your kids are adorable! I loved the play pics!

Tina - Your story (and sister's life) sound like a soap opera! I agree with Melissa that you feel guilty because you are a good person and want to help. (she worded it perfectly). I'm not good at sticking up for myself which I really need to work on. I think you have every right to feel the way you do.

MonteCristo 05-20-2008 01:51 PM

Congratulations jayohwhy on being our biggest loser!!

I'm so proud of us that we tied for first place this week. Now next week..... ;) :D

For which store would I like to win a shopping spree? Does Amazon.com count? I LOVE Amazon, I probably buy something from there every month, if not more often.

shelby897 05-20-2008 02:36 PM

Danielle – Yeah – nothing like leaving a job to make you almost feel like you won the lottery! Hope you feel better.

Jen – You kids look so cute – I bet they did an awesome job. My oldest (8) does a talent show every year at school and some other stuff – I also get amazed that they do so well, when rehearsals sometimes are terrible! They definitely always surprise and make us proud!! So cute – I usually get kind of teary when I watch them!!

I hope NS works well for you – it definitely makes a different when you can follow a plan with someone else – that little extra support is awesome.

Diva – I’ve been feeling the same – even though I haven’t lost very much yet, I feel like I’m standing different, being more social, etc. because I’m feeling better about myself. Can’t wait to be down 100 – I think my husband will have a hard time keeping me under control!!!

Tina – Take care of yourself! Family is so good at the guilt thing – you are not responsible for your sister’s baby – you are doing your part! My kids/husband come first – the rest of the family second (of course unless there is an emergency, likes dad’s quadruple bypass last year!!). Do you think maybe your mother is harder on you because she knows you are doing well? My dad is that way. Unfortunately, my mother tends to have a favorite, my sister who has always struggled with everything, even though it’s her own fault, mom tends to assist a bit more in that direction and even when I do something great, the topic turns to her. It’s just our lot in life, I guess – every child has their place in the family – whether we like it or not!! I’m so glad I’m 3 ˝ hours away from my family – if I could just get my husband’s family to relocate!! I’m a SAHM too – amazing how people assume we are just hanging around, waiting for someone to find us a job!!

Cathy – I bet the kid’s play was great – must be that time of the year (Jen’s kid’s did a play too!!). Our school right now is voting on the school budget and “conveniently” they had an open house at the construction site of our new school this week – I’m sure to guilt us into voting yes!!

Melissa – Glad you got your weight posted in time – it would be sad to have our team leader drop out!! My gain for next week will drag us down, for that I apologize, but I promise to make it up the week after – I’m already busting my butt to drop a load!!

Jayohwhy – Awesome job this week – you should be very proud (we are of you)!!

Rhonda – I’ve been working on drawing up my tattoo – plan on being down to goal this fall and heading to a shop up the road – have yours ready yet??!!

Karen – Hop right back on track with me – I hate TOM – I think since I have the two kids I wanted, this should just disappear!!

Sorry for those I missed – you guys are speedy posters, can’t keep up!!

Hope everyone has a great day!!

So, question of the week:
If you won a shopping spree to any store in the world, which store would you pick? And what would you buy?

I’m so boring – probably Wal-Mart – I just love stuff for around the house and we just bought a pop up camper this week, so I need to stock it up nice!!

been busy with things this weekend and working out...so havent had time to catch up on here....hubby bought me a new desk and we sold his old one (since he took my armoire to get the kids out of his computer)...and have been rearranging the living room to make it fit ;) lol
i am loving my watp 4 miles walk slim series :D thinking about walking up to the school in a bit to get our daughter...and push lil man in his stroller...its .75 miles there (and up hill) and then back again..and its in the mid 90s here in TX....so we'll see if i get the spunk for the walk :D that'd put me at about 5.5 miles for today ;) and about 1.5 hours.

update.....
didnt walk....it was too dang hot outside ;) lol so i drove the van....and the a/c finally got cold on the way home ;) go figure...lol

hello

:workout:Hi!
Am hoping to get on here some more and do personals...I will be in town for the next 4 days (rain rain rain ) so that means I have net access....:)
Ive been writing down what Im eating, but havent been planning it much, I will try though for the rest of this week.....
Went for an infrared sauna and massage last week, it was so nice! Now I have a whole bunch of new knots thanks to gardening and such this weekend!
I got the dogs back, and then we went out to our place and they took off again, this time to chase the big buffalo neighbor....so glad they didnt get hurt :dizzy: guess we have to keep them tied up for a while and see if they settle down a bit.
I am going to up my exercise a bit this week, and go to curves and the other gym (to lift weights) so Im dreading it a bit, (for the soreness) but am excited for the results, since I get trim fast with weights added in.:workout:
Im also supposed to start 'beerleague' softball and soccer this week(So excited!!) but am going to give my ankle another week to heal before I jump in to the competitive world.(i get a little pyscho!lol)
I tried the squash mac n cheese. its really good, but i put a WHOLE squash in there, so it was pretty squashy- but for hubby Ill tone it down a little next time( i think it calls for a 1/2 a squash...but i knew I wouldnt eat the other half on my own this time)
Am finally done helping mom move out-now she is unpacking....so I will probably help a little there too.
going to go do some planting, and laundry, but will check out the challenge and do some personals later! Bye for now!

Hi Everyone - It's been a bad week. I am like a few others and don't even want to weigh in this week. What is even worse is i've had this "I don't even care" attitude and I know that is terrible to have. I haven't even been reading any posts or coming to our site and I am going to try to more again for motivation from all of you. You ladies are all so good about that. I did see, however, that Red Team tied for the win this week! Yay!:cheer: Keep up the good work everyone. I didn't help much but hopefully I will soon. Ugh.

Mandey - Is it up hill both ways? "When I was a kid I had to walk to school up hill... both ways... in the snow" haha!

StacyLynn225 05-20-2008 05:02 PM

Oh I just saw the fun question!

I would definitely have to say Best Buy too. I am a sucker for electronics. Plus then I could get a Wii and Wii Fit! Right now I have custody of my friends Wii until she moves into her new apartment and I don't want to give it back!

gaia2094 05-20-2008 05:06 PM

Sorry I can't do personals this time around, just wanted to let everyone know that I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, lol. I was nursing a kitten dumped on our property and dealing with my TOM at the same time. We gave her away on Sunday to someone I absolutely did not approve of, and I've been battling a mild bit of depression ever since. I started my exercise again today and being careful of what I'm eating since I let myself go on the weekend.

lol no. it's mostly incline slopes on the way there, then its all down hill on the way back home....getting there is the hardest part (since i'd be pushing a 31 lb kid in a 27 lb stroller)...but coming back home is easier/faster since its downslope....lol
dont think we'll be walking after school unless it gets freakishly cooler one afternoon (like in the 80s) :D LOL
