Diva what's your link for myspace....I wanna be your friend:)

Andi- Congrats on the 5k....that was fantastic time! Your son did awesome also, I think it's so cool that he is even interested in doing something like that...my oldest would laugh if I suggested it:)LOL! He much rather push around on his skateboard!

Pintobean- I hope they bring it back...I really really loved that show. I had me a hottie and my husband loved Sophie:)

Mandey- WTG with all the exercise...keep up the great work~

Joyce- Glad the little man keeps getting better. When they're clingy it's so hard to get anything done!

Good morning ladies~ Yesterday Kev bought me a new bike. Mine was a death trap waiting to happen. You should of seen me testing it out in Wal-Mart...I almost ran into the shelves. Kev was cracking up at me. What can I say I'm a little wobbly at first;) We took the bikes out for a little ride last night, but seemings how we didn't go until 9:30 and it was freezing we only rode for about 20 min. I also bought a Biggest Loser workout DVD...it's the second one I believe with Kim and Bob. I watched a little of it yesterday(I like to preview them before I do the workout), and it seemed like it had some stuff on there that would help. Kim had a segment of legs, hips, and glutes that seemed really cool. That is my area of need, so I'm gonna try that today plus some upper body with Bob. Not sure what SIL and I are doing today...outside walk or gym, but it will be one of those. Tonights dinner will be chicken tacos. Okay I'm off to get this day going:) Have a fantastic Monday ladies~

Hey gals!!
I'm back from my long weekend trip up north and am I in pain!! I finished my first official 5k in 40 minutes and 2 seconds. After doing the math, the quickest I have done a 5k on the treadmill is 43 minutes 30 seconds. With this being the first time I have done the 5k on the road, I was aiming for 35 - 45 minutes, figuring closer to 45 minutes so I am very happy! I jogged the 1st mile non-stop (have not been able to even do that on the treadmill) and finished the first mile in 10 minutes, yeah I slacked the last two miles...I wore myself out right away which I had been warned not to do. I was able to jog another mile though, just at a much slower pace.

My 8 year old ran 1.2 miles later in the day for the Youth Run. He was in 2nd pace in his age division for much of the race but then he tripped and ended up coming in 7th (obviously not the most coordinated kid ;) ). He ran the 1.2 in just under 10 minutes. I felt bad for him though because the last .5 mile was against a VERY strong wind, when I ran in the morning there was NO wind. Had there been no wind, I'm sure he would have shaved off at least a minute if not more, that's how strong the wind was.

Now I'm going to have to catch up on the challenges and put in my times. I didn't get to exercise this weekend except for my 5k...and any calories I burned yesterday morning I drank away last night with friends downtown bar hopping. :o

Andi ~
That's awesome for you and your son. Sorry he fell though. Congrats to both of you!!!:cp:

Mel, I took your advice and started Journaling/Blogging. I have 2 now. The 3fc's one and the myspace. I have just found out that on myspace you can make your blog post a Diary, and it'll be private and no one can see it but the writer. You have that option, and also to let friends see and so on...So I wrote out some angry feelers I've been having towards my Mother and a certain ex friend who will not leave me alone with ALL intentions on them seeing it, then I got to the end and saw the "Diary" option and took it. I feel better just getting it out. No need to hurt other peoples feelers right now...if ever.

I tried the blog thing here, I must be an idiot cause I still get confused with it, so I just gave up. I have a journal I write in daily, plus my food log. I never thought about it on myspace, but I dont' go there much anymore..

;) Thought for the day:

Really be there for another

"Listening is a magnetic and strange thing, a creative force. You can see that when you think how the friends that really listen to us are the ones we move toward, and we want to sit in their radius as though it did us good, like ultraviolet rays."

-- Brenda Ueland

How well do we communicate with others? Often, when we are interacting with others, our attention in both speaking and listening is focused on meeting our own needs.

Our communication skills improve when we can open to be aware of the needs of the other person. When we listen, we can release the filters that serve our own needs for security and receive the message with our compassionate heart. And when we speak, we can choose words that the listener is able to receive. True communication happens when we harmonize with the other individual.

"So when you are listening to somebody, completely, attentively, then you are listening not only to the words, but also to the feeling of what is being conveyed, to the whole of it, not part of it."

-- Jiddu Krishnamurti

"The first duty of love is to listen."

-- Paul Tillich

You'll love that workout, Tina. And Kim's cardio segment, :kickbutt: lol I've been looking at bikes too. I really want one, an old timey one though. I have a mountain bike that my 12 yro rides to school, I just want to be comfortable not hunched over the bike. And also to find a little trailer to put on the back of it so I can ride to the grocery store and wherever for errands. I do everything in town and it'd be more economical. ;) Hope you and your SIL have a good workout!

Hola my teammies
Here's my menu for today, and I'll guess I'll copy it over to the challenge section.

B- 1c berries(straw&blue), 1c ff yogurt(mixed vanilla&straw), 1Tbs flaxseed, coffee
S- 1 sm. apple w/ 1Tbs natural peanutbutter
L- Turkey & ff cheese sandwich(light whole wheat, w/ dijon, lettuce, tomato), Light Ruffles chips, Coke zero.
S- 1 orange and yogurt smoothie
D- grilled chicken breast, baked potato(sprinkled with ff sharp cheddar and sprayed with I can't believe it's not butter), salad w/veggies and waldens 1000 island dressing.

either before I go to bed or the next morning I'll put in how much water I got for the day, right now I've gotten in 32 oz. My goal is 120 oz a day. And will also put in my exercise. Which I need to go do right now!! ;)
Have an awesome monday and I'll be back later.

I weighed in at 228.5 this morning. Not quite what I had hoped for but I'm happy with in anyways. I still haven't hit my 40 lbs lost mark yet so I'm just going to have to work harder. Still, a 3.5 lb loss is totally good in my book.

I hadn't thought about that. I'll go give the challenge another look and see what I can figure out.

I use the 3FC one for Diet and weightloss related troubles and successes. I just now started to use the myspace one. I may keep that as a private Diary unless I have something I wanna share with my friends. I am also keeping a hand written journal to go along with Bob's book and any other Diet/Fitness related stuff. :)

Morning, Red Sisters!!

I took a look at the challenge for this week--I don't think it will work since I am doing a different kind of plan.

So instead, I am keeping track of my days totally OP*, and see how many days in a row I can do it.

*OP = consuming foods that are on plan, drinking a minimum of 64 oz of water and moving my body for 30 minutes.

BTW, feel free to visit my MySpace (www.myspace.com/jen41565). If you want me to add you, just identify yourself as a 3FC'er!

Will be back later!!

jlbake 05-19-2008 11:12 AM

I exercised for an hour this morning. I've been doing really well with my exercise lately.

Supposedly I'm up 4 lbs this week. I'm frustrated because I know that can't be right. But I weighed myself Sat, Sun, and this morning to double check. I haven't been eating perfect, but I haven't been pigging out either.

I'm considering doing Nutrisystem because my mom and sister just signed up for it. Has anyone here used it?
