I think NS, Jenny Craig or any other preset kind of programs are great for a person to learn portion control. Once that is done it is probably better to fix our own meals with our own food. Which is where counting calories, fat and carbs come in. I personally started this journey eating lean cuisines. I had to learn proper portion sizes. I wasn't eating enough most days and to much other days. I thought counting and measuring would be a pain in the bum and I sure wasn't going to do all that. It is so easy. I like being in control of what goes into my body. I think if a person wants to do those preset programs that is great as long it is healthy for them but they need to understand unless they are going to stay on the program forever they are going to have to learn what they are taking in and keep to those amounts when they get off the program. Kind of like Alli. If a person wants to use that it is fine but when you stop taking it you are going to have to lower your fat intake 15% because the product won't be there to get it out of your body anymore. Joylove Fantastic. You are doing great. Remember baby steps and I sure don't think 3.pounds is baby step by any means. Vanetta I have been there. Honestly -- doesn't it matter that I recycle, try to conserve fuel and don't use those darn hairsprays, etc. that ruin the ozone? Apparently the fact that I have, in my 37 years,probably eaten 10 to 20 pounds more candy than a thin person means I've ruined everyones life! What about the packing and waste of the fast food places, SUVs etc. Anyway.....
I guess you can tell from my attitude I just finished a horrible week. My weigh in this morning at WW was up 3.8 lbs :( -- to be honest, I told the woman before I got on the scales I would be happy if it was less than 5 pounds. But, I am so back on track and ready to get my act together -- nothing is more depressing than having to lose the same weight twice!!! Hope everyone had a great day and I apologize in advance for bringing the team down next week, but I promise to make it up to you the week after!!!:D |

One has to wonder where they come up with all this stuff. You get yourself back on track and you will see the scale going in the direction you want. Do not beat yourself up. Get back on track and things will be great. |

Shelby, sorry about the bummer weigh in, but at least it's out of the way and now you can move forward. Boy can I relate about hating to lose the same weight twice. Especially when I think about how hard I have to work to lose anything in the first place!! Oh well, onward & upwards, right? :)

Jay, congrats on 50 pounds lost!! That is awesome!! Congrats to those that lost weight this week. To those that gained like I did this week, we are in it! I printed off the poem from the last thread "Don't Quit" and am going to have that near my computer at home and work, and in the kitchen. We can do this ladies!! |
Hi all - OK, we need to stay strong. Some blips on the road, a few gains - but - c'mon team - we NEED to stick together and do this. We CAN have an awesome week! Let's DO IT!!!!!
I had a VERY good food day - I have a conference at a world-class resort for 3 days this week. I KNEW that this would be an incredible challenge. While I can't plan ahead (don't know the menu, I CAN bring some food with me to help with uncontrollable menus) WARNING - FOOD PORN below OK, you were warned ;) Breakfast - full fruit bar, and home-made (well chef-made) French pastries - 3 full tables of them - I ate a small plate of fresh fruit :D Snack - More fresh pastries - fruit tarts, Danish, giant cookies, brownies - unbelievable - I ate my LF string cheese that I packed in my purse as I watched everyone else eat PLATEFULS of this stuff Lunch - wraps, pasta salad and berry cheesecake with chocolate candies on the side - I ate the veggies (I requested vegetarian) out of the wrap, skipped the pasta salad and ate half of the cheesecake and the fresh berries (I AM human) ;) Afternoon snack - soft pretzels with real cheddar cheese (not the canned stuff), popcorn, brownies, 8 kinds of giant cookies, Crackerjack bags, peanuts, more pastries - I ate another LF string cheese and baby carrots (brought from home) - my splurge was a can of Diet Pepsi (I don't drink soda hardly ever) OK - I KNOW I need to take snacks and possibly an entree with me tomorrow! |
