Joyce~
3.5 lbs is an AWESOME loss!!! :bravo:

Supposedly I'm up 4 lbs this week. I'm frustrated because I know that can't be right. But I weighed myself Sat, Sun, and this morning to double check. I haven't been eating perfect, but I haven't been pigging out either.

I'm considering doing Nutrisystem because my mom and sister just signed up for it. Has anyone here used it?

Have you been eating salty foods or not drinking enough water? I notice when the weather starts getting warmer I start retaining water, so I uped my intake.

i lost 2 pounds this week which i am semi happy about but i have been sticking to my lean for life plan and working out and the scale hasnt moved since last tuesday.
maybe i am overreacting but i feel like i should have lost more. but im still OP for 8 days now! so i am just going to keep on trucking.

I'm on a protein day in my diet cycle so no fruits and veggies for me until tomorrow and this will look kind of weird.
B- cottage cheese
S-turkey breast
L- chicken
S-protein shake
D-tuna
S- egg
S- fat free cheese

Your body might just be adjusting to the program, kwim? WTG on being OP!! :carrot: What is the Lean for Life program?

I am at least a week behind in reading the posts, and I apologize. I will try to catch up. We have been in Florida for abut a week now, and visiting a Hospice each day is kind of draining. I am also dismayed and disgusted by how the thought of receiving an inheritance is making the family act. It is making me sick.

Have a good day Ladies, I will try to check in again soon.

 Vanetta
so sorry you're dealing with that. we're here for you!!

Jay – Yeah to you on the 50 lbs lost that’s awesome. I’m hoping my two kids stay around their current weights – Nicholas is about 54 pounds (my ½ way goal) and Christopher is about 110 (my goal) – it’s a good visual for me.

Counting down – you are doing great – see, now you know what to expect – pack that purse full of good treats!!

I'm back in the game with you ladies -- amazing how I can go from feeling like crap when I got up this morning to feeling great after a day OP and with my exercise intact. I promise to kick butt for my next weigh in and make you all proud!!! :D

On a side note -- One of our resident male members is hosting his second 5K for 3FC this coming weekend -- check it out if you are looking for something to do :dizzy: -- I did the first one, very motivating and you can take all weekend to get it done (walk, run, crawl, whatever gets you there)

Hope everyone is doing great!!

I just finished my last shift at work. I am done done done! Did you all hear me screaming from the rooftops? LOL Seriously, I wanted to dance a jig on the way out, but alas, I restrained myself. :D

Now that I am "jobless" I am hoping to use this time to kick my own butt and get on track with eating and exercise and lose some weight for real. This maintaining crap is for the birds and not making me feel better at all.

I am excited to begin the new challenges that Mel has set up for us. I REALLY REALLY need it! I know we will all kick butt and earn lotsa dough! :)

On top of everything else, I have a cold. Sneezing and coughing...blech. I've coughed so much in the last 2 days that my sides are sore. Think I've burned any calories doing it? lol

Anyways, that's me for now. :D

♥danielle

:dancer:Dancing a jig with ya Danielle!! Feel better soon!!!

Yep, some bonehead scientists did a study and have decided since "obese people eat so much" it causes more food to have to be shipped around the country causing more emissions to be released. And obese person is responsible for 18% more emissions than the not fat person.

So I guess thats another reason for us to lose?? Save the planet?

Ugh! don't get me going on this global warming :censored: Ya know 30yrs ago we were headed for an ice age

Honestly -- doesn't it matter that I recycle, try to conserve fuel and don't use those darn hairsprays, etc. that ruin the ozone? Apparently the fact that I have, in my 37 years, probably eaten 10 to 20 pounds more candy than a thin person means I've ruined everyones life! What about the packing and waste of the fast food places, SUVs etc. Anyway.....

I guess you can tell from my attitude I just finished a horrible week. My weigh in this morning at WW was up 3.8 lbs :( -- to be honest, I told the woman before I got on the scales I would be happy if it was less than 5 pounds. But, I am so back on track and ready to get my act together -- nothing is more depressing than having to lose the same weight twice!!!

Hope everyone had a great day and I apologize in advance for bringing the team down next week, but I promise to make it up to you the week after!!!:D

Just shake it off and move on girl! We'll do it this week!!!

I had a VERY good food day - I have a conference at a world-class resort for 3 days this week. I KNEW that this would be an incredible challenge. While I can't plan ahead (don't know the menu, I CAN bring some food with me to help with uncontrollable menus)

WARNING - FOOD PORN below

 you did awesome with all that there.

Well I'm caught up and off to go watch CSI Miami finale. :) Have a good evening, sweetdreams, talk to ya'll in the morning.
:grouphug:

jay41 05-19-2008 10:19 PM

you guys are awesome!! Thanks for the congrats!

Now I'm going to do Jillian frontside and keep it going :carrot::carrot:

I never would have thought I could lose 50 pounds. I've done so many diets in the past and never got anywhere. This time it just seems right that I do this for me...

Tina30 05-19-2008 10:25 PM

JAY- WTG...that is something to be really proud of:) Keep up the great work:)

As for the whole fat people causing global warming thing, I think whoever said that should be shot! That has got to be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard in my entire life, and I've heard LOTS of pretty dumb crap;)

Okay I'm off to shower and watch a little tv before hitting the hay! I've had a rough day with my mom and sister, but I'll talk about that tomorrow. I don't have the energy to go into it anymore today!LOL! Have a great evening ladies~

Hey team!

I just got back from my kids' play tonight. They did a very abridged version of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. It was about 45 minutes long and set in the 1950s. My oldest played Hero, my next daughter played Friar Francis and the Sexton, my son played Borachio, and my youngest was supposed to play Margaret. It was a ton of work for everyone, but so much fun!

I was worried after our dress rehearsal since the kids were forgetting their lines, but they really pulled it together tonight at the performance. I was amazed at how great they were. In three weeks, these kids (ages 4-13) memorized Shakespeare's words, learned their cues and blocking, ran all the back stage area with props, costume changes, etc. and did a fabulous job on their acting. They were terrific. The only sad part was that my 4 year old woke up this morning sick. She threw up all day so we had to cut her out of the play. Dh brought her with him tonight so she could watch. It was so sad when she said, "Mom, that's my line!"

Sorry for bragging. I'm just so proud of my kids tonight! Thanks for letting me share.

jlbake 05-20-2008 02:37 AM

Thanks for sharing all your thoughts and experiences about NS. It means a lot to me to hear what you all think about it. I never would have considered it except that my mom and sister already signed up. I'm more into whole foods and have never done a diet plan before.

I am still considering NS for three reasons: 1) my mom, sister, and I can support each other doing it together, 2) I haven't had tons of success lately with calorie counting and whole foods mostly because I get busy, don't stick to the plan, and then just eat whatever is available, and 3) convenience, convenience, convenience -- since I will continue to be very busy for the next few months If I do NS, it will only be temporary to get me through the next couple of months.

I kind of want something that's a no-brainer for the next few months because I have so much on my plate right now (no pun intended). Anyways, I do appreciate the input. Thanks so much!
