Hey Smurf - the walk was good. Beautiful weather, lots of talking, it's amazing that with over 20,000 people you still see others that you know. It is always an emotional day for me. How was your day with your family? I read that your kids got sick - bummer!! But the good part was that you took some awesome pics - right?? And you made all the evil family members look like they had an extra 20 pounds or so - right??

As for what I do - I work for a Labor Union. We have around 2500 members and I take care of all the pensions, insurance, contracts, and dues billings and postings. And in my spare time - I get to do whatever else they can find for me to do. Sometimes I just love my job and other times I would just prefer to not be here. I have been here 24 years and can retire next October. Now I'm trying to decide if that is the right move for me. Anyway, I know this is long and I'm sorry. Guess I'm just trying to get a lot on here since I won't be able to after today.

happy - remember last go round... at the beginning, everyone felt the same... that the chat thread was awkward, and there were too many people posting to really get to know everyone...etc. By the end of it, some real bonds were formed. It was the same thing the challenge before last too. At the beginning, there are new people to the challenge and some people who haven't really let their guards down yet.... things'll get rolling along. We're just in the beginning stages of the challenge. Give it a few weeks and we'll all be settled in nicely.

I know that I have been a lot busier this time around too. Even though school has finished for the semester, I find that I devote that time to my training or to my kids.

Smurf - I, too, am a photographer. The hubby and I do wedding photography. Our goal is that by this time next year we are able to be completely supported by our photography. We, so far, have 7 weddings booked before years end and another 3 booked so far for next year. In the mean time, my hubby works for a landscaping business and I stay home with the kiddies and am a student trying to get my associates in business.

I am an administrative assistant. BORING! I am stuck doing this until my husband finishes his degree and gets a job. Then I can have babies and stay home!

I think that is awesome that you and your DH work the weddings together, and that business is thriving. I just moved to a new state and left all my clients behind-it has been hard to get things rolling again. I just started with weddings last year and right now we have a LOVE:HATE relationship. I love shooting them, and don't mind editing them but HATE the ordering dealing with cheap people part. I shot 2 last year and will shoot my 2nd one this year in June. I am hoping that by this time next year my business is thriving and we can get into a new house

I love to read what others do for a living-it makes us all seem a little more real life

chiquita: I am glad the walk was good. I was on a Relay for Life team a few years ago with people from work (we walked for 24 hours straight) and it was very emotional and I at the time didn't know many people with cancer let alone lost a loved one to cancer. Yes our pictures turned out so good (if I do say so myself) although I am still not convinced it was worth all the stress.

I normally do the Relay for Life too. I can't this year as it's DBF's birthday weekend. But I am very active in the fund raising activities.

I also like to hear about the others in this challenge - be it about their daily life, their hopes and dreams or just about their disappointments for the day about something. I know, speaking strictly for myself, that it helps for me to put it in writing and say it so that I can then deal with it and sort it out.

Anyway, it's storming here so I better hop off here. I just got home. This site must be addictive!!

I am a full-time accounting student and work full-time as an Acct Asst. I am surrounded by numbers 24/7! I work for a company that manufactures miniature microwave transmitters and receivers, mostly for the 3 letter agencies, broadcasters and sports stadiums. So far it has been a great job! Eventually, when I am done with school, I want to work as a Forensic Accountant, investigating accounting fraud and embezzlement and such. I am jealous of you photographers...I LOVE photography, I wish I could do it all day long! I do it as a hobby, when I have time, which isn't often with work, school, bf, working out, etc. Once I am done with school, I am looking forward to 2 things: having some free time to get creative again and having BABIES!! Wait, once I do the latter, the free time will be gone, huh? Oh well, kids are worth it!!

Hope everyone is having a stupendous day! I am off to the gym to sweat!

Just checking in with everyone - hope you all had a good weekend! I spent mine watching the Indiana Jones movies

Had a sucky weigh-in this week, but I wasn't feeling well most of last week, and I made poor decisions (too much salt, not enough water). I'm feeling great now, so hoping to lose a ton for next week!

See you all soon!

I am a stay at home mom right now with a home child care. In my preivious life I was an tour co-ordinator. I love to plan the vacations that retail sells to you! I dont like retailing myself. I rather stay wholesale. But alas the kids can not have two travelling parents as DH is a truck driver. My youngest will be in school full time in 1 year so I am preparing/researching what I would like to do. Maybe special event management or incentive travel!

Today was my first C25K and I used Robert Ullrey (or however it's spelled) podcast... Took out my iPod that's been sitting on my dresser, charged it, and downloaded podcast for the first time. :P
The weather was BEAUTIFUL here in Detroit area today, which was AWESOME, because it's been raining this week..and I really enjoyed the walk and the run.

Then, I don't know what I was thinking... Instead of letting my legs rest and do strength afterwards, I went and did Cardio Overdrive DVD for 45 minutes. My thighs are hurting... sniff sniff... I'll do some strength tomorrow and let my leg rest little bit before I get back to C25K I think.

Yeah I love photography as well but it is only a hobby nothing special.
As for my job and hobbies.

I supervise 9-10 convience stores of which includes travel everyday but home every evening. I do alot of paperwork, and auditing all books, payroll, grocery invoices, set up monthly and weekly store specials, I have to review all annual evaluations for each employee at each store, let me tell you the paperwork is never ending.....

So what does everyone like to do for fun (hobby)?
Me I really enjoy riding my motorcycle whenever the weather is nice. I also enjoy camping, and watching my 18 year old race cars. These are summer hobbies. Winter hobbies are of course snowmobiling and skiing.

I would also just like to say congratulations to all that lost weight this last week, and if you didn't that is okay because you will try that much harder this week. I didn't even loose a full pound so I am there with ya and will try alot harder this week

I'm a Qualified Mental ******ation Professional/Administrator.
I run 3 houses in a care facility. A house=6 residents + staff.

So...
Last week I didn't get my badge and was bummed... left all of my exercising to the end of the week. This led to my feeling not OP all of Sunday (even though I was) and a binge on Tues. ARGH! Well, I think if I kick butt (and cut the ice cream) I may still show a loss next week. I have to really get in gear if I want this week's badge. I made portobello fajitas. It's my favorite meal that feels like junk food but isn't. Well, next to homemade pizza, but I don't want to spend the cals.

Ah yes but babies make the BEST models-they are my all time favorite to photograph!

So what does everyone like to do for fun (hobby)?
Photography-while it is my profession it is also my hobby.
Writing-I am working on a book that I hope to get published next spring. I am also trying to revive our town newspaper.
Gardening-this is a new found hobby as out old house did not allow for it, but this one does
Movies-I love to watch movies and am always looking for suggestions (hint-hint) DH and I don't get to go out to movies very often anymore
Blogging-I have a few blogs but no weight loss blog that is what this is for
Sewing-but I cannot follow a pattern to save my life I have to come up with them on my own
Cooking-but like above cannot follow directions and have to do my own thing.

cheetara: portobello fajitas? oh do tell more-they sound yummy! Ice cream is my weakness by far-I cannot turn it down!

It is so cool to hear all of the many professions. Before I went full time photography I worked 9 years in a Physical Therapy Clinic as an Aide for the first 2 years and then as a receptionist for 2 years and an office manager for the last 5 years. I really liked it, but was getting major burn out and hence the career shift.
