A 3 pound showing is great Tonia. Try to remember that it's recommended that you strive for 1 to 2 pounds a week. I think the Biggest Loser TV show sets up unrealistic expectations with these 5, 10 and 30 pound losses between weigh in sessions. I mean don't get me wrong, I'd be doing the happy dance if I was down 5 pounds in a week, but more than likely that would be water and not fat.
"Getting on the beach" refers to the Beach Hopping exercise challenge going on in another thread. Chellez picks beaches around the country and each week we travel from one to the next. She calculates the miles between spots and that's how many minutes of exercise you need to do that week to "hit the beach". For example, last week we were headed to East Hampton, NY. You needed to log 455 minutes of exercise to cover the 455 miles we travelled from North Carolina to New York. Each week she picks a new goal on Sunday.
