trooworld: Congrats on getting the apartment! That is a huge relief!
We are looking at a bunch of apartments tomorrow. We are planning on moving about an hour north so that my husband can finish his teaching degree. But I am so stressed out about finding an apartment and a new job. Hopefully tomorrow will go well and we will be able to find something! |
So I ran around at the track meet for 5 HOURS with very little stopping in-between. I am counting 2 hours of walking and 30 minutes of running since I must have run across the track over a hundred times yesterday. I was the only girls coach at the meet so I had to try to make every event, which let me tell you, is pretty dog-on hard. I only missed the high jump, but managed to catch every running event, see every jumper jump at least twice and watch every thrower toss at least two throws. Believe me, when I got home, I passed right out.
BF wants to take a bike ride down some national forest trails tonight which should be fun. I just sent out six teaching applications, wish me luck! It's starting to feel like summer!!!:flow1::flow1::flow1: |
Almost time for a New Black Team Thread! :carrot:
|
Trying to push us over into chat #3...we certainly have some chatty sisters over on the other teams...WE on the other hand, are too busy EXERCISING!!!! :tread::bike2::exercise::swim::strong::trampo: :bike: :boxing::yoga::running:
GO BLACK! OK team..still OP and still doing my exercise. I did make it to the park last night after work, stopped after 47 minutes however, because it was getting dark and I wanted to get dinner underway. But, the good news is that I actually jogged for 11 minutes! This is huge! I can't believe I used to be able to run 4 miles! I am determined to get there again, slowly but surely! I ended up being so proud of myself for doing the extra session last night, even if DH and I were eating dinner at 9pm...so, yeah, whatever, in the long run it will be worth it! It is supposed to be 96* here today, a freakish heat wave, but it sure is a pretty morning. My parents are coming in on a delayed flight from London tonight and we are still waiting to see what flight they will get on when they reach San Francisco. I think they might be home at 1 am at this point. I'm going to dinner with a friend and a concert tonight while I wait. We're heading to a Greek restaurant and I have already decided I will have Greek Salad and some sort of kabobs and no bread. Don't know why the fierce:s:determination switch in my head has turned on, but I'll take it! Probably thanks to you all who keep me motivated to stay OP no matter what! This weekend is party, party, party for me so I will be challenged to do just that! A bridal shower luncheon on Saturday, dinner with friends Sat. night, and a baby shower dinner on Sunday--at a Spaghetti place! eek! :T Wish me strength! That's my check in for the day, have a great weekend everybody and don't forget to log your weights by Monday!!! |
WOW quite a few chicas looking for new jobs-GOOD LUCK to you all!
We too are having a heat wave but not 96* :wow: we will get up to 90* tomorrow-I am SO ready and excited! Got my yoga done for today-I need a different yoga workout any recommendations? I have Yoga Zone-Fat Burning which I love and is 40 min. but it is getting old-then I have Yoga Earth which is 45 min. but it leaves me too relaxed and ready for bed  Any recommendations? |
Thanks for all the support over my eating off plan...I am sticking 100% to plan today and feel better already. A little headache and some ovulation cramps, but otherwise I feel really good.
Manick--congrats on running 11 minutes...you'll be back to running miles pretty quick if you stick with it. I wish your parents a safe and speedy return home, but you have fun plans to get you through the waiting. KimL--I am tired just from reading about your day! Hope you rested up...bet you have sore legs. smurf--it's only fair hubby eats the fries...even things out since men lose quicker than women :p What are you going to do with the $50? Angeline--congrats on the lb and have fun on your trip. I don't know about DVDs in hotel rooms, if you know where you are staying you could call and ask...otherwise, it won't hurt to take it with you. Terri--landscaping is hard work, but it is so fun. It's my favorite hobby, I am researching plants, shopping around, reading about gardening, composting, planting, all year round. I planted two new rose bushes this spring and they are blooming like crazy...been sitting out on the porch swing all morning just inhaling the aroma and beauty. I would come help you if I were closer :D Diva--one ice cream won't hurt you, it's the overall accumulation of time that matters, so keep on track and forgive yourself the special treat. Maybe let that man know that there are other "special treats" you'd rather have, though. |
Hi Everyone,
Just a quick check in to say Hello and to offer encouragement to everyone. We had lots of rain here for the past 2 days and when it rains my computer gets super slow or simply won't connect to the internet at all... This was a never connect period for us this time... It's great to get back online to catch up with everyone! I'm on my way to run errands and plan to get some exercise in afterwards. I've been able to stay on plan but I continue to have trouble with the exercising. I'm sure I'll do better though. Here's wishing everyone a great day! |
Hi everyone!!
Just checking in between cleaning and making supper to say hi. You're all doing so well, I'd be surprised if we didn't mop the floor with the reds and the blues. :) I didn't get much exercise in this week, still nursing my sore calf muscle. Hopefully I'll be back on track tomorrow. |
Just checking in! I can't believe how busy everybody is. New apartments, hunting for new jobs & homes, all the landscaping and gardening. WHEW! I'm tired just reading about it.
I'm with Manick & Smurf and all you other Westerners . . . I'm thrilled to finally be in a heatwave. The tulips on my street didn't bloom this year until Mother's Day. I'm so glad spring is here I'm about to jump out of my skin! Everybody in the Black Team Challenge - don't forget that tomorrow is the $$ bonus for crunches!! :) Hope everybody has a GREAT, healthy, and on-program weekend!! |

But I'm doing OK. I'll be able to make the rest tomorrow. |
It is SOO HOT!!!
Well, maybe I can sweat off a pound or two! :flame: |
I must have overlooked it, what is the bonuse $$ for crunches thing?
|
Good afternoon all,
Well, I went back to my lifting program this morning, and yikes, do I have balance issues with some of the moves. I'm also having major problems with the planks. I suspect that last one is just because of my body weight, but ouch, ouch, ouch. Having said all that I'm going to head outside and do another 30 minutes of walking around the pool before I call it a day. Purplefirefly - I don't know why certain milestones seem to bother us. I know that the first time (and even now), getting below 300 seems harder. Maybe it's because it brings up issues about how much further I have to go. So track your calories, which will make your exercise worthwhile and just head for Onederland. Hope4me - same kind of advice, get the eating under control and you're going to see lots of improvement. I even find though I'm not where I'd like to be, I see physical improvements that help me keep going. Diva - I feel for you on the social evening. I've got a meal planned for Wed night with friends that I'm pretty much going to use half my daily cals (on a high cal day even) for one meal of ribs, corn... and alcohol. And now I find out that one of our neighbours wants us over for a meal on Sunday (fireworks as it's a holiday weekend). It will be harder as I'm not cooking, so I can only guess at the calories. I'm tempted to be unsociable, but I'm really working on getting to know the neighbours more (heck, I've lived here 10 years). So, I'll keep the cals low on Sunday (a low cal day) and hope for the best. Terri - if nothing else, your chores sounds like they'll be good exercise. :) Angeline - I always have the best of intentions, but I'm not sure I trust myself with a menu in front of me at the moment. I may be going out for dinner on Sunday (although a home party) but I kind of don't want to go since I will have to test my resolve. Good luck on your trip. Hotel gyms can be hit and miss with equipment. I'm not so sure about the DVD players. They're easy to pack though just in case. Smurf - very good giving hubby the fries. He should really spot you a couple of pounds, since men almost always lose weight faster than women. Laurie - maintaining, especially during audits, is a good thing. I know you're likely talking financial audits, but I've been through lots of manufacturing audits (process ones) and they're definitely no fun. Good luck. Beth - I decided the last time we moved that I just wasn't moving again. Or I was going to get rid of 75% of the contents before it happened. We even went from a bigger house (my mother) and an apartment (me), and got rid of things, but still too much stuff. Good luck on both the job and the apartment hunt. Kim - that's what I'm hoping will happen at some point with me, I'll just become more active. I really have to push for the scheduled exercise, and I have to make a point to move around more in between. Hmmm... another person looking for work - good luck! Manick - we're back to cooler again today. I know once the weather gets killer hot I'll complain about it, but boy it would be nice, even for a couple of weeks. Oh, and good luck with the temptations this weekend. Gambura - although exercise is important, getting the food plan right is strangely more important. Eventually the exercise will come. It took me over a month to get back into the exercising, even though I'd been big into it before. Halichick - I don't know about others, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to have a good weigh-in myself this week. Oh oh, I shouldn't jinx it. :) (nah, I don't believe that, if it's going to happen it's going to happen) ggmugsy - I might skip the crunches, but we'll see. Did we define if they had to be on the floor, or are swiss-ball crunches acceptable? Well, although I started this in the afternoon it's actually after dinner at the moment. I just leave the text editor open and come back to it. So I did finish off another 30 mins walking/jogging today, and decided I really need to replace the shoes, so I'll do that this weekend. And I need to go to Costco tomorrow, and I maybe have a party to go to Sunday. So I'm going to suck it up tonight and colour my hair in a little while. I'm getting tired of playing 'hide the white' every day. Hope everyone is having a good day, and will be having a great on plan weekend! To anyone I didn't cover, just a big  |
To Anne (RealCdn),
Thank you so much for your encouragement. I love reading your posts and how you find the way to help make each one of us feel special! Thanks again!!! Gambaru (My real name is Ann too but I don't have an 'e' on the end; Mom says I'm not a princess or a saint so I didn't get the 'e'. She loves me just the same though! :-D By the way, "Gambaru" is a Japanese word which translates into having the determination to succeed even when all the odds are completely against you.) |

I'm glad you told me what the name means. I was wondering. It's a really good choice for a weight loss journey. Well, actually any journey. |
