Cool! I am scared because I've heard grad school is harder than the bachelors and I had a hard enough time with that. I don't think I am patient enough to be a school librarian, I would be one of those grumpy ones that is always yelling at the kids. Just today in one of my classes, this girl told another girl that she writes in all her library books and I just wanted to turn around and smack her! I totally worship books and to see someone disrespect them gets to me. I am actually hoping to work in special collections at a university so I don't have to deal directly with the public.

JuliaHood: isn't digital scrapbooking fun? I love it, I just wish I had more time to devote to it. It's such a stress reliever and makes me feel so creative.

However, I take them all online because I don't have time to actually go to classes...single mom and working full time at night does that... So I take all of them online and it's been working great as I am on the computer at work and sometimes I can do school stuff at work. =) It's great!

Today, I was dropping of my DD at her grandmother's before coming to work and they were eating Sun Chips. I used to like Sun Chips so decided to have a couple...I grabbed two and took one bite. :barf: I used to LOVE it but guess not any more, since I haven't been snacking on chips...It just tasted greasy and just didn't taste right for some reason. I saw their ad on tv before I started this journey and bought one bag, which is still sitting in my cabinet. I don't think I will be eating that anymore... Well, a great NSV. ;)

I have taken a few classes online before but never to this extent...I am really looking forward to attending class in my pajamas haha. Congrats on staying away from the chips, I am in awe...as I said, I would be all over those Sun Chips. I am purposely not having chips at my party. I tried to have some healthy things so that I can eat them. I am not into wings or ribs, so I won't have a problem staying away from them.

Wow, that's awesome! I can't wait for that to happen to me. Way to go!

Hello to everyone else, too. How is everyone doing? What was the best part of your day? Mine was finding an apartment we want to rent in a safe neighborhood that will accept our pets. That was nice. Now if only we are approved. The WORST part of my day was right after that when we decided to celebrate at the Burger Lounge. We had never been there and my husband suggested it and I was hungry and wanting to emotionally eat to celebrate so we ate there and I did not do well, I'll leave it at that. I don't think I will have much, if any, of a loss this week but I will see on Saturday.

Sleep with the gods.

I am bad when it comes to wings, though. I love anything spicy... well, I haven't had them in a while but hot sauce, spicy bbq sauce... you name them. sigh... Ahh, all of sudden, I got a craving for BWW... sigh... ;)

I did some step aerobics today and going over the step almost made me cry. It's not pain like I"m hurt, it's the good hurt but seriously, I have never had something work my butt that hard...and I didn't even realize it as I did it, it seemed so easy. I will be doing it again :D

Girl, I heard that. I did some bun & Legs Pilates last week and it seemed so easy and I thought to myself that "this sucks, I'm not getting a good workout", then the next day I was soooo sore! LOL! But lemme tell you, my tummy is def my problem area. I am so fat & weak there and I just could NOT do the Abs Pilates, and that made me mad. I don't like when I workout as hard as I do and that little 22 minutes video kicked my abs like that!;)

Anywho,

I am back down 2 + lbs. It's gotta be the exercise is all I can say. I also bumped up my calories since I've been more active. Go figure....I've dropped out of the Beach Hopping because as much as I do exercise, I can't make them numbers and still rest my body, so O'well. I exercised in my sleep too! ;) I dreamed that I was roller skating and having myself a wing-ding! :D

Mugsy, I saw your pm last night and tried to reply but my computer froze so I gave up, but I laughed out loud at what you said! You nut! My question, who did you pay to do that to your husbands??? LOL! JUST KIDDING!

Hi team,

Just dropping by to say that I'm posting a loss for this week! My exercise for the yesterday and today is going to be gardening and yardwork. I've got lots of landscape planting to do plus its time to use the string mower and do all the trim work again.

 about the Pilates. Are you doing Winsor pilates? I love those DVDs. And they do great things for your body.

Sunback~ Congrats on the pants!

So I've discovered that trying to keep a list on a computer is a bad idea as I really don't have any opportunity to get to a computer once I leave school. I did manage to be smart enough to also write my list down yesterday so I could keep track of what I should be trying to finish.

We have a track meet today and it is absolutely pouring outside right now. I'm going to run home at some point and grab some extra clothes along with hopefully an umbrella.

I had my bball girls running sprints last night and decided to join them. I discovered that I actually am getting in better shape as I wasn't dying after one suicide (after the 4th one I was huffing and puffing though). I then decided to stick around for an hour after practice was over and shoot around. I forgot how much work it is to shoot, rebound, shoot, rebound, phew! I miss playing ball though so I'm going to see if there are any local leagues I don't know about.

Food I can't resist~ Italian, especially lasagna or baked ziti

Question
What is one bad habit you have managed to kick since you started trying to lose weight?
I quit smoking!!! I discovered that smoking and physical activity really don't mix...

Good Morning Black Team!
I am so sick of rain! I want SUNSHINE! Maybe tomorrow it sure isnt happening again today! Well at least today is just cloudy so far no rain!
Hope you all have a great day!

smurf2110 05-15-2008 11:16 AM

Oh why is it such a hastle to get my dd out the door to the bus! Only 5 more school mornings for the year-yipee!

I am right there with you sore girls this morning. I had a good pilates workout yesterday morning and a good walk/run last night and my legs are feeling it today! I am going to have a lighter day today exercise wise 1) because I am sore 2) I have a bridal shoot and those are always quite a bit of walking and squatting and I am sure my legs will feel it.

Thanks for the compliment Manick! I think this black team are exercise maniacs and we are all building the muscle needed to burn the fat! Watch out in the next couple of weeks I predict some awesome weigh ins (at least for my sake I hope that is the case)

Tara I have a couple of Zumba workouts, but I have two left feet and can't do them to save my life too much like dancing for me. If you decide you like it I might be able to dig em out for you if you want.

orhtodiva: wow talk about a challenging profession-only one more year!

sunback: Yippe-your jeans fit! That is awesome. I am so jealous of your trip-my anny usually consists of last min. Christmas shopping, I guess that is what I get for getting married 10 days before. Every year we tell ourselves that we are going to do something fun, but alas 7 years later we haven't.

YAY trooworld congrats on the appartment! The best part of my day yesterday was meeting a couple of ladies that used to run the newspaper here-but haven't for 20 years and they are willing to help me get it revived and are going to let me take control of it. Lots of work, but I am so excited to brush off my creative writing skills again! That and taking my measurements and finding in the last 3 weeks I have lost over 6 inches-that was a pretty good moment too!

Diva I love your posts they are always so pretty and color cordinated :)

Kim your job is mine and DH dream job. We LOVE track! DH is in school right now to get a double major in computer science and physics in hopes of teaching one day so he/we can coach. Congrats on your kicked habit!

What is one bad habit you have managed to kick since you started trying to lose weight?

I no longer have to have my evening treat and only have 1-2 treats a week! One habit I have gained is drinking water I still have to make a concious effort and have to add it to my list of things to do everyday, but I am drinking it all.

Well I am headed outside it is a BEAUTIFUL day (sorry to those who are having rain)

I am in South Park near Downtown. So, it's not likely that we can be work out buddies. I just keep trying to make local 3FC weight loss buddies, to no avail! :( Oh well, maybe we can meet up for a movie or lunch sometime. :carrot:

Yeah, with the exercise he is, but with food he isn't. He thinks that exercising makes it totally fine to eat whatever we want. LOL...MEN!

Keep trying...You'll find one! It would be fun to meet up...I'd love that!!

bethbeth 05-15-2008 11:56 AM

Good morning all!
I have 2 victories to report :carrot:
Last night I just wanted to eat chips. We had a medium sized bag sitting there staring at me, but I knew if I opened them I would eat the whole bag. There was no way I would eat just a couple. I thought maybe eating a 100 calorie bag of popcorn would help the craving. It was good, but I still wanted those stupid chips, but they would have put me way over my calorie goal for the day. I made it through the night without opening, and with staying within my calories!
This morning I had to get up several hours early to go to a denist appointment before work. I stopped at the grocery store on way to work to get something for lunch. On my way out I saw the donuts.....what I used to get once in a great while when I had to go somewhere extra early. But I walked on by, drooling a little, and left the store with my apples, bananas, baby carrots, and a Smart Ones lunch.
I'm proud of myself! And the scale has dropped off a few numbers this week already, when it usually only drops one a week. One more pounds and I get to change my avatar to 35. Yippee. I think I deserve another dancing carrot - I love those guys! :carrot:

JuliaDH 05-15-2008 11:57 AM

Trooworld - the thing I love about digital is that I dont have to pack up all the supplies every time the kids get home from school or for a meal. Then I just take my finished pages in to be printed. Much cheaper than traditional cut and mount style. Mind you I am still learning and have not decided on purchasing any software yet.
