That makes more sense now:)LOL!
|
Haha - I'm born and raised in Hawaii, so I'm down with the roaches. It's something we get used to having around. Now that I'm in Alberta, it's SO NICE to never, ever feel that *crunch* under your foot in the middle of the night!
You girls are TOTALLY chatty! I am so not keeping up! My good news is that this morning was my WI and it was good. (Down 5.5 from starting weight!) Also on the topic of bumper numbers - I have more than one. Is that allowed? 242 was HUGE for me. I kept staring at it for so long. I'd gain, I'd lose, I'd end up right back there. Now I'm dealing with 220. That was my pre-preg weight. I got back to that 6 weeks after giving birth. Now that my son is 17 months, I'm FINALLY moving away from it. I don't want to see it again! 185 is my lowest weight ever, so that will be a huge one for me to surpass. You know how it is - when you can break into new ground... I can't wait to get back there! jaime |
WOOOOHOOOO Jaime!! Way to go on that 5.5lbs!!! Excellent job this week, keep it up! 242 has been a thorn in my side as well! I should bust it this week! Then its bubye forever!
|
Whew, 4 pages since I posted last night. You guys are amazing! I really enjoy reading everyone's posts!
Question of the day: My comfort foods are red wine and dark chocolate. Fortunately, the current research says that both of them have some health benefits :) I use a very small (3 oz) wine glass that is tapered to look like it holds more than it does (thank you Brian Wansink - Mindless Eating) and I buy extra dark, rich (usually European but not always) chocolate. I repackage it in small portions so that I am not tempted to eat more than I should at a time. Good day for me - I posted my weight which is down 3.4 lbs from my starting weight :) We had a "snow day" at school, so I was able to get a lot done without my phone ringing off the hook. What a blessing! I promised myself I would start my exercise routine by 5 tonight, so I'm off - I will try to check back in later :) |
Sorry for not posting sooner, it's just been crazy busy.
My weigh in went well yesterday I am down a total of three lbs from when I started last Monday so I guess that's OK. I just pray and hope to God it contineus and I don't plateau again. I need all of your opinion, I've being doing LA since last January and I am paid up until this March, either than the break I took right before Christmas I have been on plan and pretty faithful until I plateaued. I stayed there for so long 175 that I guess I just got discouraged and depressed and took a break and let go a little, which led me to 183. My question or what I would love is if you think that sometimes if you are on aplan does your body get so used to it that it needs a change? I don't eat the same thing everyday but I do stay on plan....I know I probably don't make any sense, I guess what I am asking is if you think I should explore different ways such as calorie counting or weight watchers. Has anyone been on a plan for a long time, done well than plateaued and switched to another plan and continues to excel and lose weight? Well unfortunately I have to run, and I am sure there are plenty of spelling mistakes, so I do apologize. By the way you guys rock, your post are truly inspiring. See you all later hopefully...ciao! |
Boy, I feel behind on the thread! I stopped in to see what was going on with the team (sorry some ladies are dealing with some personal chaos :( ) I'm sure things will get better. Stay positive! I know you can do it!
I put in my weight for this week. I lost weight! :) I'm so happy, because I really pushed myself. I pulled a muscle in my chest earlier this week. It is especially painful when I inhale (ha ha, can't stop doing that! I kind of need to inhale!) or when I lean forward or backward. Anyway, I still went to every workout, but did "legs only" in the pool. It was darn painful, even two diff't prescription painkillers & some xtra strength tylenol later, but by golly, I really need to lose weight right now. I'm really proud about my week. :D And the muscle feels SO much better already. I'll be good to go next week, I'm sure. As for my comfort food, Dark chocolate comes in #1. No idea how to make that better, other than avoiding it altogether! lol! -Yello. |
Oh yeah, before I head out as far a the question asked personal trainer or chef....I would chose personal trainer all the way. My dream has always been to have one...someone like Jillian that puts up with no BS and says it the way it is. I would love to exercise the right way for my body.
|
As usual, just a quick check-in to let you know I'm still dedicated to this challenge and my overall "mission". Weighing in and posting tomorrow morning. Have a great night!
|
I'm getting ready to head to the gym for my 4th workout of the week:) That means one more on Sunday and I've met my goal of 5 for the week! I'm not looking forward to going out in the cold tonight, but I know I don't want to go tomorrow when the high is supposed to be 6 degrees! I told my husband to just leave the car running when he gets home, so it will be nice and warm and it has seat warmers;)
|
Melissa, I love the fact that you have the Red Team banner on your site! I may have to steal that idea!! Liking your site!
|
So today eating wise has not been very good for me but I was able to go shopping today and get some chicken and salad stuff! :carrot: I also found a salad dressing online that I crave and I am going to be working on it to get it low fat low carb so I dont feel bad about eating it! :D It is a lime cilantro ranch from a very famous place ( i think it is mostly in Utah) called Cafe Rio! It is the best ever! So I am hoping to tweak the fat and not the taste :D. Well will post tomorrow to let you know how it goes!

Yello - Congrats on the weight loss
Roni - Sorry to hear about the school issues. I've been right there w/ you Tina - way to go on the workouts!!! Muse - so sorry to hear about your sprain Nicoya - wow 4 hour walk?! You are my hero!!! |
Sara....I switch plans too often to give you any of my own personal experience but sometimes we just need to shake things up a bit. I'm not familiar with the LA plan, so I cant tell you what I would personally do. But I do know the deal with plateaus is that your body is comfortable right there, and something needs to happen to mix it up. Could be more calories for awhile, could be less, could be more carbs or less. Or it could be exercise. Are you losing inches during all this? Stinks that you are paid up for so long but I suppose getting to goal is more important than the money. sorry I'm not more help!
|
Barbara...that ranch sounds fantastic! I love ranch! Great job today!!!
|
Utahgirl - here's an awesome cilantro-lime dressing recipe that you can make. To make it healthier and creamier, you could probably substitute some fat free sour cream or plain yogurt for the oil, and it would make it more like ranch (haven't tried that, though I'll tell you that the regular recipe is INCREDIBLE).
|
Counting...way to go on your loss!!! that is fantastic news!! What a successful week you had! Keep it up!!!
yello...and Congrats to you too!!! WOOHOO! Love to see all this losing going on! I love dark chocolate too, dove is my favorite, I've got to just not have it in the house. Way to go this week! You are doing GREAT!! Lady...good to see you  hows everything going? Tina...you rock!! You are an exercise Hero!! Excellent job meeting that goal, I just knew you could do it!! So I am counting my shoveling today as exercise. Normally I wouldnt but since I had to do it twice I'm gonna go ahead and count it as doing extra physical activity. I have a feeling my arms are gonna be SORE tomorrow! Stuck to points all day but I think I'm gonna have a little treat tonight. Its okay I still got my extra ones to use so its all good! Plus, tomorrow will be my first meeting YaY! have a wonderful night everyone! |
Okay ladies, I am really in need of a bit of support right now. I had a light breakfast, and brought some homemade butternut squash soup for lunch: a HUGE bowl is only a little over 200 calories! However, as usual on Fridays, there was a ton of free food at the office, so I found myself tempted by the pasta bar and salad. I left the soup in the fridge for another day, and didn't do too badly with my choices though: about 450 calories, which is just over what I like to do for lunch (400).
However, near the end of work, I got sucked in by the Friday afternoon cocktail hour. I went downstairs to take a quick break from work and have just a glass of wine (which would have been completely within my plan). However, because I've been losing weight and also drinking less than I used to, I get drunker a lot faster... and I found myself very buzzed and not caring what I put in my mouth. There were tons and tons of pastries and cheesy hors d'oeuvres, and I ate about 1900 calories!!! :( I am so disgusted with myself. That's way more than I would normally eat in a whole DAY. I honestly feel so gross, I really want to throw up right now (but I am definitely not bulimic at all, don't worry). I'm a little scared of myself for thinking that though. I know it sounds silly to get so upset about one screw up, but I screwed up yesterday as well with the dessert I had when I went to lunch. I made up for it yesterday by working out and having a really light dinner (100 cal salad), but it's scary to me that I've messed up so badly two days in a ROW. On Sunday I'm heading to Boston for two days to visit a friend, and I'm really scared of the choices I'm going to make there - it's even harder to eat healthy when you're visiting someone away from home. I'm not going to be able to cook healthy meals, and we'll probably go out to eat, where I find it really difficult to be good. Tonight I did just 45 minutes at the gym - a normal amount for me, but I really should have done a lot more in light of what I ate. I'm planning a 10 mile run in the morning before work (yes, I got stuck working tomorrow, which sucks a lot). But, I was counting on the 10 mile run to make up for the junk I know I'm going to be eating Sunday/Monday. I also have a potluck dinner tomorrow evening, and while I can bring something really healthy, I have no idea what other people are making, and I'm really going to have a hard time not trying stuff, as most of my friends are not domestic at all so it's a big deal that they're cooking! I think I am going to have to try to just go for salads with light dressing on the side when I am in Boston, and other really light things. Not fun at all, but I ate too much "fun" tonight to make up for a while. Hope I haven't let you all down when I weigh in on Sunday morning :( |
Hi all! Just wanted to check in and share some cool news!
So! Some of you may know about the Biggest Loser tour that is coming to 5 cities? Well, one of them is only 15 minutes away from me (Wichita), and I'm going to see them either tomorrow or Sunday I think! Julie and...one of the twins; I get the names confused, from last season will be there.:D If I do make it, I'll make sure to take some pics. In OTHER news...I ate too much today; around 2,000 calories which shouldn't make me gain, however, I'm pretty sure I had too much sodium. *sigh*...I don't know, guess I can asses damage tomorrow...fingers crossed that there is none, lol. I did buy the 2 newest Biggest Loser DVD's today though..they're only $10 at Wal-Mart.:D |
Laura-
I'm sorry you had an "off day", girlie...but please don't sweat it too much. You'll in no way let me down on Weigh In Day! I know this is a competition, but I think that the support for situations like these and the motivation is what really makes this great. You had a bad day, we all do...but you have to forgive yourself and move on. |
Today I only did cardio, I did 3.68 miles on the ellitpical, which is so far from my monthly goal but it was only for 40 mins. As far as food, I had the usual oatmeal for breakfast, egg salad sandwhich for lunch, and cooking spaghetti for dinner! Not too bad, I don't think.
|
Laura...I think you've just got to chalk it up to a learning experience. We all have days like that where we just let lose and then we regret it later, but the worst thing you can do is beat yourself up over it and get stuck in that negative self destructive hole. Besides that with all that exercise I think you are just fine. Things like that happen in life, we acknowledge and move on and hopefully next time remember how it made us feel so we make better choices. Dont be so hard on yourself. You are doing great! Just remember those girls and get back to kicking butt! You can do it!!
|
Cassie....TBL was in phoenix recently I dont think Danielle made it down to see them. Wouldnt it be grand if Bob and Jillian were there? You didnt do too bad today at all! Let us know how you like that dvd!
OptimistiK...wow way to go on the exercise!! Thats GREAT! Sounds to me like you are just kicking butt!! Excellent! |
Well I bit the bullet and posted photos.
(gulp) If I did it so can you. Hop to it! -muse |
my pics are posted on my million pound site, I think I'm gonna be good with that LOL, I have measurements just havent posted them. Why? good question LOL!
|
Hiya, Red team! I'm in a particularly good mood today for two reasons: one, I fit into a nice blouse at a "skinny girl" store. (Okay, so it's a big deal for me, if not for anyone else. lol.) AND two, blueberries were on sale tonight for 99cents at the grocery store! Awesome night for me! :D
Melissa -- I agree on counting the shoveling as exercise! It is tough work! And doing it once is punishment enough, never mind twice! We don't have snow over here yet (Canada) which is really odd. Congrats on trying weight watchers - you're braver than I am. I'm too chicken to meet with other people in the room. Is it true everyone has to weigh in together? I knew someone who did it (way back when) and said they had to weigh in as a group. I guess that can be pretty darn motivating though! ;) lol. Laura -- We all have those days. It can be SO hard to get over (mentally, we tend to keep beating ourselves up about it), but you can do it. The fact that you're sticking with exercise just goes to show how strong and determined you are to stay on track. Don't worry about one tough weigh-in, it could go either way, you just might surprise yourself! You rock! :carrot: -Yello. |
I dunno about the group weigh in, but I would think that if you didnt want to you wouldnt have to, otherwise that is just cruel and not what WW is all about. I'll let you know though! I cant imagine many people enjoying that! Way to go on your great day!! Skinny minnie!
|
Laura-- Don't beat yourself up. And don't be scared of food. Food is not an enemy. Food is our servant. It's there to nourish us and give us energy. Just chalk this one up to experience. Now you know to watch the alcohol since you get buzzed easily and don't make the best food choices when buzzed. Enjoy your weekend with your friend!

i'm going to agree with the others, don't beat yourself up for having a bad day today or yesterday with food. You are human, it's going to happen. Now just don't let it drag you down over the weekend. Do something about it. Go for a walk, go to the gym, go for a swim... and hopefully you will get to enjoy a 3 day weekend!
|
Wanted to say hello. I am not even going to try to catch up posting lol. Computer is rebuilt until my new parts come in. Used a bigggggg bandage to fix all the old parts for a few more days lol. Why is it I build these darn things and MINE is the only one that is ever falling apart. OH YA THATS RIGHT my kids get all the good stuff and I get the old junkie hand me downs lol. I had the newest processor and mother board but my darn drives were about 5,465 years old and have just taken all the abuse they can take. I had three of them go POOF POOF POOF in three days lol. THATS IT I am building me a 64 duel core and and getting me three new drives ( they really didn't want braces on their teeth ), if they don't like it they can go smoke co co puffs lol.

Wow, I am way behind and tried to catch up on the thread. This is the first time I was able to spend any time on here.
Michelle- I see you are a Montana girl too. I get over to that side of the state on occasion, we may have to get together one of these days. 1. What do you prefer we call you?Deb or Debster 2. What weightloss plan are you using? LA Weight Loss 3. What is your favorite exercise? The Firm workout tapes, treadmill, but I really hate exercise right now. 4. What is one area that you struggle? getting in enough exercise and drinking all my water 5. What is one area of your weightloss journey that you excel at? planning out my meals 6. What is your short term goal? To get back down to my all time low of 165 7. What will you reward yourself with when you reach that goal? Haven't really thought about it. 8. Best weight loss tip? Stay hydrated 9. Bob or Jillian? I like them both. 10. Tell us about yourself! Been married to a wonderful man for 18 years this year. I am a professional picture framer and love what I do. I can't have children, so we have 3 very spoiled chocolate lab "furbabies". I teach beading classes where I work and have to hit every bead store in every town I travel to. I also enjoy photography, traveling, scrapbooking, watercolor painting and just about anything crafty. |
Deb, welcome! I'm really impressed with how far along you are in your weight loss journey; it's really awesome! I'm always looking for new exercise DVDs... how much space do The Firm ones require to do? Lots of dancing around the room, or more doing stuff in place?

Good Morning girlies. Well We decided on burger King for dinner last night and although I could have chose grilled chicken Salad, out my mouth came Whopper, fries and a shake!:o So I ate it. I went WAY over calories and I felt like poo for doing it. Then I wake up this morning and my tummy is KILLING and and I am thinking y'all can figure out the rest. My body is rebeliing against fast food. I think that's cool but a painful lesson for me, lol!
Anywho, back on track today. Apparently this wedding thing is REALLY going to happen. The fututre in laws up in PA are steadily planning things so I need to get on the ball! It's going to be a a family camp ground that we go to and celebrate every 4th of July, up in the Pocono mountains and is an outside wedding. I am going to get me a cute little bathing suit and teehirt/ shorts with bride on them because we are doing a pool party/cookout reception and below is the dress I am aiming for. Not doing fancy shoes. What's the point? It's outside and I can't see myself climing up a grassy hill in high heels lol! THAT would be comical.:D They have cute bridal tennis shoes too, but I thik Flip-flops would work... Dress & Shoes- http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...ding/Dress.jpg http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...ding/shoes.jpg I like this dress too, but it's more form fitting and I'll do good to be at 155-160 lbs by July 5th. So I think Dress #1 will work better. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...dingdress1.gif |
Good Morning all! I got myself up bright and early to go to a WW meeting, but then read on the thing for your first meeting you've got to arrive 30 minutes early, so now I have to sit and wait for the 10am meeting. Kinda throws a wrench in my day but I'll get it figured out. Priorities right!?
Shy moment...your post made me laugh! Ha, go smoke cocoa puffs! Braces are overrated anyway LOL! I hope you get your computer up to snuff very quickly! Deb..we should totally get together sometime! You have come so far in your weightloss journey, that is really impressive! Way to go! Diva....the king is a terrorist! LOL! I hope your tummy is feeling better now. that stuff just isnt even worth it. I went to costco last night and they were sampling Turkey burgers, they were really good so I went ahead and got them so I can indulge in a burger guilt free! I love that first dress! And with flip flops how cute. I wore white isotoner slippers when I got married and I decorated them to look weddingish. Still have them LOL..so i can pass down the wedding shoes to my girls LOL! JK! So Diva got me thinking, I should shop for my graduation dress! Give myself a little something to work for. I wont be at goal but I'll be a heck of alot closer! The scale showed me up 2 lbs this morning which doesnt thrill me, but I know its just got to be normal fluctuations. Or perhaps my meal was a bit too salty. I dunno. I was a little over my points last night but I had those extra ones to use. Stupid scales are for fish! Not gonna let it bother me, onward and downward! Have a wonderful saturday everyone! Its cleaning day around here and boy does it need it! |
Well, I will never be able to stay up with all the posting. But, thought I would introduce myself.
1. What do you prefer we call you? M23BC 2. What weightloss plan are you using? My own (less process foods, more veggies and healthy protein/fats. 3. What is your favorite exercise? Walking or anything fun that I do with my kids. 4. What is one area that you struggle? getting in enough exercise and eating enough veggies. I am not a cook, so it is hard to find ways to eat veggies. 5. What is one area of your weightloss journey that you excel at? When I put my mind to it, I can eat the right amount of calories (hence not too many). 6. What is your short term goal? To loose at least 5 pounds a month. 7. What will you reward yourself with when you reach that goal? Umm good question. When I reach my long term goal, I am going to reward myself with a clothes shopping trip. I get $100 dollars for every 10 pounds. 8. Best weight loss tip? Don't eat alot of carbs after 5:00 p.m. unless they are veggies. 9. Bob or Jillian? I like them both. 10. Tell us about yourself! I am a stay at home mom of three. I am blessed with a wonderful husband, 3 beautiful children, and great friends. I am lucky enough that I can teach my children at home. |
