Well, I also married my highschool sweetheart 15 years ago last year. We have 2 girls ages 12 and 8 but birthdays are in a few short weeks, which means I'm about to have a teenager. I'm a fulltime mom and student at the University of Montana majoring in Accounting and Psychology, I graduate in May!! Huge football fan and I love to read! I was always a skinny kid who thought at 130 pounds that if I'd lose 5 lbs I'd be perfect, and I dieted my way to 250 lbs. I've lost it, and gained it and I'm gonna lose it again for life! Diets just dont work you've got to change your lifestyle to something you can live with. so thats me!! |

I have a son that is 2 and I want to lose weight so he does not get embarrassed when he is older. want to be able to keep up with him as he grows and play with him. 1. What do you prefer we call you? Jen 2. What weightloss plan are you using? Counting calories - I'm also following Jillian's plan from Winning By Losing. 3. What is your favorite exercise? Walking. My sister and I have walked almost every morning for the last 10 years (even through four pregnancies). We got out of the habit for a few months at the end of last year, but we're back on track this year. 4. What is one area that you struggle? Eating too much sugar--particularly ice cream 5. What is one area of your weightloss journey that you excel at? I think I have put together a comprehensive diet, exercise, and support plan that will bring me success. I also have a pretty positive self-image--i.e. I don't see myself as a "fat person". 6. What is your short term goal? I want to train to walk a half marathon to motivate me to increase the intensity of my walking. 7. What will you reward yourself with when you reach that goal? I haven't decided yet. But when I lose 50-57 lbs. I'm going to reward myself with a cute swimsuit for this summer. I want to look great when we have pool parties this year. 8. Best weight loss tip? Focus on your behaviors more than just on results. When we judge ourselves only by what the scale says, we sometimes get depressed that the results don't come as quickly as we want. That's when we're tempted to give up. But if we focus on the consistent behaviors that do work when applied over time, we'll be able to see where we need to tweak things to be successful. 9. Bob or Jillian? Jillian because I think a member of her team has always won the competition. She must be doing something right as a personal trainer! 10. Tell us about yourself! I'm 34. I've been married for over 14 years and I have four kids ages 3-10 that I homeschool. I'm a SAHM & a part-time grad student working on my MA in Education. I just need to finish writing and defending my thesis. I also teach classes for my college, for homeschooled teens, and for my church. I enjoy being with my family, reading and discussing books, singing, playing Wii, and quilting. |
Melissa - I too am an accounting major. Congrats on the upcoming graduation! I have a little over 2 more years til I graduate....slow and steady. I will get there.
Kari - I know exactly what you mean about trying not to blow the entire day after slipping up. I am working hard on that myself. I am trying not to beat myself up after making a mistake. It is a lot easier said than done. I have really enjoyed reading everyone's answers. I can relate to so many of you. |

I suppose I excel at planning, when I'm not too lazy to do it. 6. What is your short term goal? Break back into the 100s. 7. What will you reward yourself with when you reach that goal? An Enell bra. Stepmom to 3. 1 lives with us, the other two think they are adults. I'm between day jobs and teach knitting on the side. I've been fat all my life. In 2003-04 I made it down below 200 but I got married and moved to Canada... Gained back a bunch (but not all!) I'm originally from Hawaii. |

Bumper number! Looks like many of us have them. Mine is the 220-230 range, so I'm at that pivotal point right now. I messed around in December, but I've lost most of that this week, so I'm ready to move forward PAST that bumper!
I didn't have a stellar food week, but luckily my new running program is helping to make up for the slack there. I was down 4 pounds this week (although only 3 from my challenge weigh in) So close to the half way mark I can taste it. :) 1. What do you prefer we call you? Most people call me Muse online 2. What weightloss plan are you using? Mine. Basically calorie counting tracking it on Myfooddiary.com and 6 days a week exercise. 3. What is your favorite exercise? Turbo Jam! 4. What is one area that you struggle? Food lately keeping within my target range has been a struggle post-holiday. That and getting enough veggies. 5. What is one area of your weightloss journey that you excel at? Been great with the exercise. 6. What is your short term goal? To get below 200. 7. What will you reward yourself with when you reach that goal? Nothing planned for the short term one. 8. Best weight loss tip? ( http://moon23.etsy.com ) who makes blank books and works in metal. I've been obese since high school and haven't seen under 220 since before college. I live in Chicago with my husband and 2 cats. I started my journey once again last May and I've lost nearly half of a daunting 152lbs that I was aiming to lose. I was never athletic but now I'm learning to run. |
Melissa - I have not taken Tax yet. The associates (Office Managment Technology) that I earned years ago did not require me to take most of the basics, so I have had to go back and take them. I will be a junior in May. I have taken some financial and cost accounting courses but not tax.

Bumper numbers are so tough... I definitely hit a plateau at a certain weight, and I'm still trying to drop below it. However, right now I'm supposed to be at my high weight in my cycle, with next week being due for a big drop. Yet right now I'm on the low end, so hopefully that means I've crossed the bumper number threshold and will be under it next Monday! We'll see... |

Especially if its a mint gum, mostly peppermint its supposed to help get rid of cravings. It helps me from time to time! Not a daily chewer though!

Good Morning RED LOSERS:hug:! I hope that you all have a great on plan day today....Yesterday I was pretty sick felt terrible. Today I am feeling much better and actually ate! I had a turkey burger! It was so yummy. I have fallen in with with the ground turkey meat cause I think it is much healthier than beef and does not taste too bad either!:D Since I am feeling much better I am going to do some walking with my son so that I can get us closer to the moon! Well will try to post later! :)

Well I went and weighed in :rolleyes: and was up 0.4lbs. :rollpin: But I know it was from not feeling well all last week and not working out. Sorry to start the challenge that way, but this will make me work harder on completing all my workouts I have scheduled for the week. I know I could probably wait til next week to post my WI, but I need to keep it honest for me and this week was that .4 gain. It doesn't show that on my ticker when I put it in for some reason.

2. What weightloss plan are you using? My own. Calorie counting, no fried foods, lots of veggies and fruit, only whole grains, at least 80 oz of water a day. One cheat meal a week or every two weeks. 3. What is your favorite exercise? Interval training cardio workouts! 4. What is one area that you struggle? In the beginning this was so easy, but now I find my cravings for things I shouldn't have are creeping back up, which hasn't happened to much since I began my journey in May 5. What is one area of your weightloss journey that you excel at? Exercise, I kick my own :censored: in the gym!!! 6. What is your short term goal? FINALLY, make it to ONE-derland 7. What is one area that you struggle? Eating enough calories each day. 5. What is one area of your weightloss journey that you excel at? Planning and logging everything. 6. What is your short term goal? For this challenge, 18 lbs. 7. What will you reward yourself with when you reach that goal? None - I plan to buy a new wardrobe when I get to my final goal :) 8. Best weight loss tip? Little changes add up to big results. If you haven't read Mindless Eating, I recommend it. It has lots of great info about why we eat what we eat. 9. Bob or Jillian? I like them both! 10. Tell us about yourself! Another person that married their HS sweetie (29 years ago - does that make me the old lady around here?) We have two DS - one is married and in seminary in CA. The other is struggling through college. I am employed for a k-12 school district as the technology coordinator. I am very active in my church. I just got back from a nice sweaty workout at the gym, and I feel great:) I've had a great day so far with eating and exercise. Just have to finish off the day strong and I'll be good to go. I weigh-in on Fridays, so I'm excited to see how my hard work will pay off;) Have a nice night girls~

I am so proud of myself. I did my first 3 mile walk/aerobic video tonight. My lungs really give me problems and I have only been able to do 2 miles videos before. :woohoo:
