I think I would pick a Personal Chef. If I could get a Personal Chef that cooks what I can eat on my diet plan, I would take them anyday. When I am at the gym, I watch some of the other personal trainers with their clients and I steal some of there workout plans so I can do it the next time I am at the gym. Works out great!! The thought of when it is time to eat, someone else cooking and cleaning the kitchen for me sounds sooooo good.
I'd choose a personal trainer over a personal chef. I know how/what to cook, the workouts I'm still iffy on.
Sonja - I slacked on posting this weekend. I tried a belly dancing class about a decade ago. If I remember right it was fun, I think I'll start looking into finding another one. I love your costume.
My big one pound loss for last week has been stolen by TOM. I hope I can reclaim it by this Saturday.
I went for my first workout at my new gym this morning. I seem to be the only one who exercises at 6am, and that works for me. They have the Curves-like circut of hydralic machines, regular weght machines, cardio machines, a lovely heated pool, and two pilates stations. This morning I did the circut which turned out to be much harder than (my old) Curves and then 30 mintues on the treadmill. I think the Curves I used to go to was set up for old ladies, not that the old girls didn't rock those machines, but I'm really feeling the workout today. OMG, maybe I've become an old lady?
Good morning Bluesers & ex-teamies! Just wanted to pop in and say hello!!!! Remember tonight is weigh-in 11:59 (EST) so all you other time zoners please get'em on time.
Rhonda, how cute is it that you do a question of the day? hehe I'd choose a Personal trainer because I need someone to kick my butt into shape. I know what to eat and not to eat, so I am good there. BTW, I've 6.6 since posting my starting weight! WoooHoooo!
Hope the scales have gone down for al of you too! Well not more than the black team, hehe!
I would totally choose the chef! I hate cooking and everything that has to be done after it. I would love to have someone who could make yummy but totally healthy foods. Food is my biggest problem, and I feel I can have any trainer I want through DVDs!
Congrats on 4 lb. Krispie
Rhonda--What is it about weekends that gets you to slip up? I'm sure there is a solution...it used to be my problem as well, but I would assign more calories to those days, and put my lower calories on days during week I knew it would be easier to stick with. Then there are always extras for the week...right? you are going to do this, your comittment to keep trying shows me one day it will happen for you.
Dixie--The gym sounds great..and having it to yourself even better! You are not an old lady...give yourself a few weeks and you'll be whipping those machines and upping your weights
Thanks Ladies
I'd go for the personal trainer! I love to cook and have become a junkie for meal planning! The gym, I'm still the one walking around each machine and looking at the stickers on the sides with instructions on how to do it!
But I have to say I actually wake up excited to work out! For those that are new to this TBL, I did it last year after losing some wieght and was up to 251lbs.. so it is doable...not easy but doable and you really feel so much better.. so keep up the great work..we are all going to be really big losers!!
to all of our losers this week so far! I just got done making the weigh in chart and it looks like we only have 13 people that we are waiting on to weigh in today. Not bad for 57 of us on a team.
It looks like we are going to have a fantastic number to post up at the weigh in!
I weighed myself this morning and I had lost another half a pound. Kind of wish I'd waited to post my weight but thats another half a pound for week 2 and who knows... we may need it! So I think in total since moving from the apartment to the house I've lost 4 lbs.
I started a new ticker for myself cause I lost the link to my old one. I also started using FitDay again so that's all updated for the day. I'm about to leave for lunch so I'll be updating my lunch stuff when I get back.
Tonight I have planned some yummy chicken and broccoli for dinner, just need to get another side together. I'll probably get some exercise in cleaning, unpacking and painting some more. It's a shame I can't post it in the exercise challenge.
Well I better head off... I need to go get some gas and get my sammich for lunch! I'll be back for personals later!
Mommytoacacia...hope the little one gets to feeling better soon.
Zinkemom...I love the WATP and have the walk & jog myself, I think it is one of my favs. Also have the 1 & 2 mile and the 3 mile. Wanting to get the 4 mile next.
Chelle...hope you are enjoying your new home. How'd you like that game last night?
Rhonda...as much as I hate to cook I think I would prefer a personal trainer over the chef. I need someone to keep me in line with the exercise, keep pushing me.
Marianne...I too am a bath & body person and like to pamper myself with the lotions. I also love polishing my nails...makes me feel pretty for some reason, lol.
I was doing well with the exercise but I think I jumped in too soon before letting my back get back to 100%. I was just getting antsy from sitting around too much, ugh. So today it is a little achy. I will try and get a walk on the treadmill but with it like this I'm not sure how far I will get. Might wait a couple of days. I need to go add my past few days of exercise to the thread.
CONGRATULATIONS, on the loses. I know that I have been missing in on all the chats. I hope to get back to normal especially after I go back to the doctor tomorrow. I have a lose of 8 lbs for this week.
On a side note for those of you that pray please send up a prayer for my father in law. My MIL just called a little while ago to let me know he was in critical condition in the ICU. I had to make the phone call to my husband who is in Malaysia until the end of the week. I hate making phone calls like that. Not that anyone likes them. It was just an out of the blue thing that he got sick. I worry about my DH being so far away and now knowing he has to worry about his dad. Please send up a prayer and I thank you. I will try to post an update soon.
Dionne - I'll send up prayers for your FIL and your family.
The reason I asked about what you all do to show yourself some love is that I've decided I'm going to "break up" with my body. I am tired of the stressful, dramatic, angsty relationship we have, so I'm dumping that old relationship and starting a new one, full of love, respect and TLC! In the interests of building a strong relationship, I need to take my new self on "dates", and other than exercise, baths with yummy smelly stuff, and the occasional pedicure, I'm a little stumped for ideas! I know, this sounds silly, but I don't know what else to try to get my head and my body working TOGETHER.
Rhonda - Great question today! I think I would choose the trainer, especially if they had Jillian's "beatings, beatings, and more beatings" attitude. DBF is a wonderful cook (his dad is a chef, he learned well!) and I'm a decent cook when I actually try, so we're okay in that regard. I sure could use a trainer/drill sergeant though!
I'd pick the personal chef I don't seem to have a hard time working out, although I could use a personal trainer too...but I think I have a harder time with cooking meals - the chef would also be responsible for cleaning the kitchen too
I just have a sec to say howdy. Lots of MLK activities with the kids today, then we leave for Great Wolf in OH tomorrow and come back on Thursday. I will take the laptop, but I don't know if I will have a chance to post.
