Hi Team,
I've been having a difficult time with staying on track because I really haven't seen any progress in two months of low carb. Not sure why as carbs are LW and I work out 5-6x a week. It just isnt working or me. Maybe it's the stress f the last month at work. Dieting is my negative magnet and it keeps me feeling bad about myself. I'm going to ease up a bit nd stick to the Primal Blueprint and the Perfct Health Diet and see where I am in two weeks. Hopefully I will make my Easter Challenge goal! I realize that i have the luxury of easing up a bit in that my goal is to get from my size 8 to my size 6 jeans in my closet. I will continue to drop by if that's ok. I'm on the hunt for balance in my Easter Basket!

Please continue to drop in Calee and let us know how it's going...and keep us in line! Hope your plan works for you! I'm curious... Did you lose your 100 lbs or part of it on Atkins/low carb?

Happy Monday! I'm up....TOM....nuff said right?!!! Definitely retaining water and feeling all around blah!! I know I will see good things when this is over...and I truly hope Mother Nature will just let menopause take over soon!!

I know is may sound funny but it seems like I had better bathing suit choices at a 20/22/24W than I do now.....that being said bathing suit shopping was an epic fail! The suits I tried on did all the right things in all the wrong places!! And there certainly was not enough coverage!! So I plan to stop at a few places on my travel this week because just like weight loss, it will be a journey for a bathing suit this year!!

Best wishes for an on-plan day!!

Today is the final day of my AutoImmune Protocol (AIP) elimination diet - beginning tomorrow I start re-introducing foods (first up: raw milk, grass-fed cultured butter!). I'll still be most hard-core AIP for the month, though, because in between introductions you go back to the basic diet. Hoping to be eating some normal things like black pepper and mustard in my vinaigrette soon though! Maybe, I dare hope, egg yolks so I can make mayonnaise.

Weight is creeping downwards by around a pound a week, maybe even a tad less. New diet plan coming, but I'll update on that later. I'm swept up in this idea of Nutritional Density (i actually feel so energetic and good and I think it's from all the vegetables on the AIP diet, so looking to keep that going)

I have to say, this challenge has really helped me, in particular the rule I made for myself to track my food daily. I'd started to do that 2 weeks before my diet, and that made the strict diet possible, and will make the tracking of the reintroduced foods possible too.

My major commitments :

- weigh in daily (I already do this)
- keep a daily food log (I've seriously resisted this and it is hard for me to commit to, but frankly I think it's what I will need to do to move through this weight decade that has stalled me for years in the past)

Oh Calee, sorry to hear this is making you stressed.

I understand about sometimes needing to step back and hunt for balance - hope you find it. I like Primal Blueprint, and haven't read PHD but I see a lot of people I think are smart in the paleo community who respect it. I'm moving to Wahls ketogenic plan as of tomorrow, I really want to keep eating all these veggies and I like the way she structures eating well AND remaining ketogenic (although it's a challenging diet, to say the least! but coming from AIP it feels manageable).

I hope one of the approaches you're considering helps you find peace of mind and the size 6...

We are here to support you and cheer you on whatever diet you follow, but also understand that sometimes stepping away from the computer is needed for mental health too...

Hi girls..
Life has been so busy lately for me. Sorry I don't get to stop in as much as I would like. Work been really busy.
Scale moved down 1 lb..
Or maybe its just because I been moving more. weather getting nicer.. Not sure don't matter..
My parents are moving from Ct in 2 days will be staying with me for about a week. Going to try to get my dad to walk with me.

Works been so busy
And my car died. So we are back to a LARGE car payment.

So another reason to cut back on the food LOL

I hope everyone is good..

Sue, I feel really great, actually. I have always thought that vegetables are really healthy, and it's always been one thing that I've struggled with on low carb (been eating this way since 2009) is that idea of limiting vegetables.

I am absolutely 100% certain that my fat cannot be attributed to too many veggies.

I didn't feel much energy difference on this diet for the first 2-3 weeks, but the last 10 days or so it's been great.

I'm a bit frustrated that the scale hasn't moved much though during the AIP diet, and that's why I'm switching to something that is very close but I think will push me into ketosis again so that I can keep losing. Dr Terry Wahls has a new book out, The Wahls Protocol, and her top phase of the plan is ketogenic BUT high nutrition density (the AIP is high nutrition density too, but less specific than Wahls, and not ketogenic). So as of today I'm transitioning to Wahls Paleo Plus as I begin to reintroduce some of the foods I've elminated on AIP.

And Sue, look at all those weights in your history in the 220s! I think this will be your last push over the 23x mark, this time when you get down under it will be forever!

I'm keeping my eye on you girls!

Yes, I did lose my 100 with decades of low carb.

Right now Perfct Health Diet feels like where I should be to learn balance. Lots of veggies, .5-1 pound of animal protein a day, some safe starches. It's not high in carbs except for the sac starch which one can drastically reduce for weight loss. As expected my weight went up a bit with the introduction of carbs but I'm also retaining additional fluids. I hope to be back under 150 before Friday. Both yesterday and today I weighed in at 151. I still have 145 as my Easter challenge weight so I'll be checking in.

Behave everyone!

Congrats Sue on the 220's.

Sarah, I just read up on Whals. It is very similar to how I eat. I am Paleo with the exception of a bit of goat cheese and Greek yogurt. I think that Perfect Health Diet is going to be exactly what I need to help me find balance with food. I am setting a long range goal of consistently being under 145 for this entire year. I want to actually give myself th opportunity to learn maintenance without obsession.

I've been under my WW lifetime goal since June 30, 2011 but I've continued to keep the pressure on to go lower and lower. I've been doing this since I was 7. I'm 63. I feel like whipping myself about my weight and food consumption is part of my fabric. I want to change that. Thu, learn balance. PHD has tons of veggies and more moderate protein so it's something I can do for life.

Have a happy Wednesday everyone.

Ps. Lulu, you can get to that low goal! I'm at 151 and am aiming or 145 for Easter. Let's do it together.

Happy Thursday!! Thanks everyone for the encouraging words!! Calee - you are right - picking something you can do for life!! I don't feel as obsessive about eating low carb and weighing as I did a year ago- now it is more of a routine. If I want to keep fitting into the clothes I have and lose the last bit of weight to my realistic goal...I need to keep doing what I am doing - eat less and move more!! Atkins does make it easier for me to make the best food choices! I have never reflected like I did this past year on what it really means to maintain and what it really takes to maintain...and 1200 to 1500 for this "weight-reduced" person is not a lot of food some days.....I tried on my 34s and they are looking better but. I have to be under 165 and probably closer to 160 for the right look!! Best wishes for an on-plan day!!
