S/C/G: Going from chubby to not

Another good reason to use the "jeans" test is that sometimes we get frustrated with the scale, but we are actually improving well because Atkins burns fat. So, we might only see what we consider a "small" overall loss, but the jeans zip up! This also works with "pencil" skirts too. I just bought a slightly too tight one in Target yesterday. Cute and great for work. I purposely chose a fall color instead of a summer bright.

NSV, met a friend for breakfast today, and it was so simple to stay OP. Told the waitress to hold the toast and potatoes even though they were included in the price, hold the OJ too. I didn't even miss them. 2 eggs and bacon, how can you go wrong. Oh and coffee with real cream.

Default Doctor visit!

My doctor must've forgotten to fuss at me! The good news is I'm down a pound since last Friday, so maybe I'm going to have good results this week. Work with me, Atkins Chicks!

Hey all! I kinda disappeared for awhile (was on the 4th of July challenge) but am back to normal now (housesat for over a month w/o internet etc.) ... Anyways... I stalled out for like 3-4 weeks and am just now down to my 4th goal. Slow is better than not at all!! I've been on Atkins for almost 2 months and only had 1 cheat meal (that I planned)... after which I lost 1/2 a lb. Dunno why it's such slow going for me, but I'm hanging in there.

Anyways... my goal for Labor Day will be 10 lbs. Good luck all!

Hey girls! How are you all? I have been working very hard after having cheated a couple times. However this is the most weight I have lost since I had restarted atkins 53 days ago so I am wondering if it may have something to do with it. I have went 100 miles on my trip to Fl (walking, biking, etc.) and I am just 9 lbs away from no longer being obese holy crap! I am so excited!

Way to Lose, Brooklyn! You and your baby are so beautiful!

Handling cravings? They come and, thankfully, will go. There's some research that says if we work through a specific craving for a couple of minutes, it will go away. It's true. I try to distract myself. The easiest way is to change locations, just moving from one room to another will work. Another way is do something else. If you're watching tv, walk outside for a few minutes or do something that keeps your hands busy...cross-stitch, scrapbook, tidy up a junk drawer, pluck your eyebrows, chat online, anything will work. A few minutes will pass, and you'll be okay.

Use visualization. Picture yourself at goal; try several different things to see what works for you. For me it's geography or activity. Hope your day is better, Jamie.

Hi! Just a lurker popping in for a comment. One local restaurant used to have a low carb breakfast and they took it off the menu. Bummer. I hate that when you ask them to hold the bread and potatoes you still pay full price. Our restaurant will substitute fruit or juice for the potatoes, but what good is that to a low carber?

My feeling is that we can't think like that. You are not going to eat the potatoes or the bread, that is your choice. I choose to tell them to keep it off so I am not tempted. I guess you can ask for a doggy bag and bring it home for someone else.

Slmn11- maybe as for a free coffee or iced tea in place of the juice to replace the carby food . Personally I would try to order a la carte or maybe even ask them to sub the starches with broccoli.

Hi Ladies! proud to say I lost the 5 pounds I retained from the weekend. Tomorrow is my official weighin for the week, I am hoping for a pound loss. Been hot all week, 104 out today. I spent most of the morning in the garden, weeding and pulling the fruits of my labor for dinner. So far 1 zuchinni and 1 grn bell pepper.

Congratulations, Harleywoman! Way to Lose! You're brave to go outside as hot as it is...we're looking at heat indexes of 105-115 today. Yikes!

Thanks Sandy.. I was a little toasty for sure, but we have the dry heat so it's barable.
Weight in today and the scale sits at 264 I am at the original weight from last week before our trip.. I refuse to NOT lose.. So it's on again, with no road trip slip ups.

Brooklynn- you are doing so good. Way to Go

Hi! I joined the challenge on the 16th and my computer went caput on the 18th. I am finally up and running again.

Everyone sounds like they are doing well! I have remained status quo, but that is my own doing.

Still keeping the eye on the prize.
