January 2012 Challenge:

1. Stay ON PLAN through the month of January. Be sure to come here to the board if you feel like you are going to go off-course and need some support!
2. Set a weight loss goal only if you feel comfortable doing so.
3. Set a goal of how many days you’d like to do some form of exercise every week.
4. Set a goal of how many days you’re going to VISIT THIS THREAD and check in with us. The accountability is important and a great way to stay on track.

Anything else you’d like to track here for the month, please do so! Feel free to track your daily eating, daily exercising...anything you'd like! We are here for each other because we're all here for a common goal: to be healthy and happy!! Let's all have a great month!!

Default My January 2012 Goals

I am so excited to be going into January. November & December weren't the greatest for weight loss for me. I am looking forward to having a great month of January and I hope everyone else does as well. Hopefully at the end of the month, we'll all be able to report a good weight loss.

Here are my goals for the month:

1. Get back to being 100% OP with my eating
2. Workout at least 30 minutes five days a week
3. Cut way down on sugar
4. Eliminate out junk food snacks (except for popcorn & almonds)
5. No eating anything after 8PM
6. Lose 5 pounds in Jan
7. Post here daily and log my food each day
8. Drink 6-8 waters each day
9. Take my vitamins

YAY- January here we come!!

SO I'm still a little queasy...giving myself a break but expect to be back up and running no later than the 1st.

My goals are::
1. Lose 12 lbs!
2. Workout in some form every day (30 minute minimum)!
3. Stick to my newfangled hybrid diet. (Combo of the Wendie diet and restricted carbs but not super low)
4. Plan my meals for each day at the beginning of the week!
5. Take it ONE OP day at a time!

2012 is going to be a big year! Moving into our new home between March and April, going on our overdue honeymoon in October (cruise pushed back due to buying the house), and at that time (of the cruise) we are going to start trying to conceive our first little lovey!

YAY for New Year!
Anyone else have plans in the new year?

Gettinfit, your original post under 1. states December -- that threw me a bit until I saw the posting date -- just in case you want to edit that.

This is just what I was looking for. I say Nov and Dec are in the past and lets leave them there.

I managed, part luck and part new habits (yay for those) to maintain since Thanksgiving. I've been on vacation for the last 2 weeks of December and it is reflected in my lack of progress--well, playtime is over!!!

1. Follow my "back to work" menu for weight loss.
2. Walk at least 2x per week.
3. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water!!!
4. Diligently take my daily meds and multivitamin.
5. Lose 3 pounds by Feb. 1st.
6. Most importantly, maintain a positive attitude

I think these are all achievable doable personal goals.

I wish the best of luck to all of us! It feels really good to be participating in a challenge again with you lovely positive folks!

Default Is it okay if I jump in?

1. Plan meals for each week on Sundays, and prep for them the night before
2. Bring breakfast, lunch and snacks to work
3. Diet soda only
4. Minimum 64 oz. of H2O/Day
5. 45 Min. Elliptistrider 3x/week
6. I will plan on visiting daily, but as I work 60-70 hours/week, I will set a goal of 5 days/week
7. Lose 8 lbs.

I could probably come up with another 5-10 things I should aim to do this month to start things off, but I figure I should try to start small and expand from there. Goal #3 will be the hardest. I have a 4-6 can habit of regular soda EVERY day right now. Gross and sad, but unfortunately something I have slowly built up over the past year. I've already replaced all soda in the house, and plan to eventually eliminate soda from my life all together. I'm afraid if I go cold turkey, I might end up going over board later on.
Anyways, sorry about the rambling! Any grand plans to bring in the New Year?

Hello ladies and welcome KimL. I am so excited and ready to get off to a great start tomorrow. Everyone's goals are awesome!

Welcome Tabby, Nice to have you join in the challenge too.

I went food shopping today to restock my pantry & fridge with good stuff. All the leftover junk food went in the trash.

Tavvy, sounds like you've got some exciting things happening this in 2012. I know you will do very good and by the time you go on your cruise you'll be way down. My cruise is the first week of Dec and I'm hoping to be close to 165 by then. I am going to work so hard to make goal this year.

Thanks Chickslicker, I made the correction. I'm glad you're back with us and I look forward to hearing about your successes in Jan. We are all going to rock it this year

I did my end of year W/I and I was 212 instead of my Nov low of 204. That makes my total loss in 2011 23 pounds and I need to lost 47 more. That's a little less than 4 pounds a month to make this goal by the end of the year. This is very doable.

I hope everyone gets off to a great start.

Glad to see we have so many new people joining us!

Chicksinger, good to see you agian.

KimL, My Hubby gave up cokes cold turkey a few years ago then went back to them because they are always there at work. This past year he kicked the habit again! I'm sure you can kick them as well.

Tabbycat, welcome, glad to have you join us!

We took April to the park for her walk, and are trying to get some things done around the house such as pruning, cleaning out the unused dog house, painting trim; you know, the fun stuff!

Good morning ladies,

Alright, how is everyone doing so far? I know today will probably be challenging for some of us but we CAN make it through! Let's make a pact that we are going to stick to whatever plan we're following today and be able to report being 100% OP.

Here is my plan:

B: 2 clementines, coffee w/ 1/2 C skim milk
L: 1 C LF Chilli
S: Greek yogurt, 100 Cal pk almonds
D: C LF Chilli, salad w/rf dressing, 1 sl LF apple dessert
Exercise: Firm or WATP
Water
Vitamins

Morning everyone. 2011 ended on a really bad note for me in my personal life, but I still have my drive and determination to continue getting this weight off. I was hoping to start the year off under 200, but alas, this morning I weighed in at 200.6lbs. I'm still happy and ready to see that 1 at the beginning of my weight next week. =) Good luck to everyone! I hope you all have a great first month of the year.

Good morning, chickies!

I started the day by drinking a glass of water and walking on the treadmill for 10 minutes. It's a manual treadmill I bought from a friend with teenage sons, and it is very hard to walk on. I don't have the directons to adjust it. So it's quite a workout to use, much harder than the ones at the gym. But I can do 5 or 10 minutes at a time, and let them add up. Doctor advised me to stop jogging due to advanced osteoarthritis in the neck and spine, but said walking is okay.

Yesterday I cleaned out the kitchen cabinet and fridge, and today I plan to shop for healthy stuff. I'm going to go heavy on the Mediterranean/Sonoma plan with fresh veggies, whole grains, and healthy fats.

Happy New Year!

I'm taking this month ONE day at a time And today was an OP day!! Despite EXTREME carbohydrate cravings I did well!
If (and WHEN) I stick to my planned dinner I will have had:
1349 calories
99 carbohydrates (this is total carbs, not net)
97 proteins
I also burned about 360 calories doing a dance video for 30 minutes.
