As part of the National Body Challenge, we'd like to give you some quick nutrition tips to help you succeed on your weight-loss journey. For starters, get in the habit of reading food labels. That exercise alone will help you improve the quality of food you put in your body.
Here Are Four Other Things You Can Do:
1. Check the Serving Size. Read the nutrition details that are based on a single serving. In many cases, manufactures will increase the serving size per item to conceal the bad news.
2. Review the Macronutrient Details. Compare the amounts of carbohydrates, protein and fat the item contains with your per meal requirements as displayed in your Nutrition Analysis. If you hit your target with the macronutrients, the calories will be right on.
3. Limit the Sugar and Saturated Fats. Try to limit the amount of sugar per meal to 12 grams or less. Also, try to keep the amount of saturated fat you consume as low as possible. If your per-meal fat target is 8, look for a product that provides that with the Saturated Fat being 2 or less. The lower the saturated fat numbers the better. Your body requires unsaturated fat; it will help you look and feel better.
4. Review the Ingredients. Food manufactures can produce a less expensive product by using nutritionally inferior ingredients and fillers. Flour is just filler and provides no nutritional value. Try to restrict or eliminate those items that contain partially hydrogenated or hydrogenated oils as they will cause your cholesterol and blood pressure to rise. If an item claims to be FAT FREE, verify that the label doesn't list mono and di-glycerides as ingredients. Both are fats so don't be fooled.
I realize that making changes with your eating habits can be difficult. But once you make that decision to do so, I will support you all the way.
Woo-Hoo!! Our new grandson is here. Shawn Alan weighed in at 6 lbs. Of course he is the cutiest little thing that we have ever seen. Mother and baby are well! ( Ellis, the ex-monster had gone home by the time we got there ,thank God! What a relief!!!)
Irish, congratulations! And I am SO happy for you that you missed meeting up with the ex. All that worry for nothing, huh? Well, at least you were ready for her!
Did you find a good outfit?
Jennifer, isn't it enough that we have to listen to the intimate details of Ruth's bowel actions without hearing YOURS!?
Hope you've managed to let loose.
Congrats Irish!!! And glad you didn't have to see the ex.
Jennifer - Hope you feel better soon.
I am done with class, ao I am here to play! Things here are pretty normal. My fingers hurt a bit, but are getting much better. I am hoping for a quiet day at work. I have been so far of plan but really need to start trying. I think I am going to try some yoga today after work. Plus my living room needs to get cleaned. I still have one box of decorations I haven't taken to the basement. I just keep moving it out of the way instead.
Have a wonderful morning chicks!
And for the Canadian chicks, and the rest of us up in Northern US - stay in doors! We need a hot chocolate icon.
One more thing- Love the site without the ads. Not that I mind the ads, but it is nice to not have to see them for a while.
