Yes, my name is Kitty (for real). I would like to change the Unrepentant. Its too long. Thought it was kind of funny at first. Once I figure out how to change it, I will. I have a dog and a cat - Marty and Milo.

Right now I am trying to figure out how to lose weight while going through menopause. These hormonal fluctuations are making me nuts. I settled on a modified Paleo diet (just cut out sugars and starches) hoping it would help with the water retention, but so far it hasn't. I don't use any added salt, but some of my food choices are naturally salty (cheese, turkey bacon). I can't give up everything!

Maybe when the weather gets cooler (if it ever does) things will be better. It's been one long, hot summer for me in Big Rhody (RI).

Good Afternoon to all! And Welcome to you Kitty. This is a great bunch of people! Years ago ( I was like 16) I worked at a Burger King in Colorado Springs with a girl named Kitten... yes it was her real name. We were pretty good friends at the time and now I wonder where she is and how she might be doing.

It has seemed to be a busy week for me here but I don't really see that I have accomplished much! Tuesday was jury duty, set for 1 1/2 hours and they resolved it before they called us. It was a criminal case where the guy pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal assault on a child. Glad that I didn't have to listen to that. Yesterday was Bible study and then lunch afterwards. Today we are still waiting for this company to get back to us with an estimate to enlose our patio to make it a sun room and in general not doing much. Tomorrow I told my sister I would babysit her grandkids for a couple hours in the evening. She told her kids she would watch them, but forgot she and her hubby had a "gig" playing and singing at the Souls Harbour. So that should be fun. They are both good kids!

Well, guess I'd better get myself together and I know I need to go to Walmart.. who knows what else for the day! Have a good one!

Good morning goldies,

Happy birthday Donna!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing much going on today. Work as usual. Getting ready for the camp this weekend. I'm going open camp and clean it. I went to lowes yesterday and bought some odor ban to spray and freshen up matresses and it smells so good. I sprayed my carpet in my living room this morning to try it. I love a clean and fresh smelling house. Can't stand when things are out of place. Usually it's always kept up but......the one time I'm behind ........that's when company shows up. Lol.

Gotta run
Hugs

I am prepping for the jewish High holidays and not stressing out. My house will not be immaculate but it won't be in violation of any health codes either. I will be hosting two nights in a row and I am preparing low calorie nutrition dense vegan foods for myself. I won't be baking anything tailored for my diet b/c I have no self control when it comes to baked goods. since I don't eat white flour or eggs I'll be fine, the baked foods won't be a problem for me b/c I am also staying away from booze.

Happy Bday Donna!!!

Welcome Kitty

Kitty I use a product called Dr. Millers Holy Tea that really helps with water retention. It's also great for sugar cravings . It's a detox- but you decide how it effects you- how much to take- can get at amazon ot type into google. Yes, many claim weightloss- but I can't honestly claim that because- I cut calories, drink water and added exercise to my life same time I started it again- so- of course I'm loosing weight.

Karen31: I just love sunrooms. We had one in our last home with skylights and I miss it so much. I "live" in my living room now- that has 1 wall of glass leading to a garden patio and another wall with double floorlength windows onto my front porch. I read- hang on computer- meditate and exercise in here- nap a lot also. LOL! It's as close to sunroom as I can get. We had a sunroom on original house plans-but that went when we had to convert to single story ( therby saving 30% cost). So enjoy!

Cajun: What was that odor ban? we have a "doggy" smell problem in one bedroom-I can't seem to get rid of with dog cleaner products.

Lucinda: nice to meet ya. I could never stay on eating plan and bake stuff. I've warned my grown kids that I'm either going to my bro's for Thanksgiving or we can book Reservations for our family I'm not cooking this year. Good luck at your celebrations

I'm In tears for you Rosey. My prayers with you. Our pets really are family and we grieve for them as such. a decade ago when our Sandy said goodbye after 16 yrs raising our children I grieved so I could no longer sleep in our bed because she had slept there next to me. A friend sent me this story of how as you go over a bridge into Heaven you pass through parks filled with pets playing as they waite for thier family to come home to them. It really helps me to think of her and all our pets being with me again someday. What a great way to be welcomed to Heaven. BIG HUG!!

Hi Everyone else! Been down with flue couple days- can't seem to drag myself to exercise today- my joints hurt like crazy. staying good with water and calories- though wanted to comfort myself with food- I called my sis instead. Been feeling a little let down -missing grandbabies- after being home since Sunday. I really got spoiled with baby smiles those weeks. Penny is trying her best to give me lot's of puppy kisses to cheer me up. She thinks the whole world revolves around her. Ok, I admit, it kinda does. Thinking of Rosey has gotten me sappy.

Good morning ladies,
TGIF. It's been a long week. I have to pack for the camp today. I talked to ds yesterday. He fighting ulcers in his mouth. He asked me what causes that and what can he do. I didn't tell him stress can cause that. So last night he was at the store and on the phone with me trying to buy meds.
I just talked to him a few minutes ago. He said the meds numbed it.

Kitty~ welcome. These Goldie's are awesome people.

Karen31~ I have been lucky with jury duty. They post in newspaper if jury duty has been canceled. I never had to go. So far. I'm sure they will get me one day.

Lucinda~ I also have a hard time with baked goods. Last weekend I made a dessert and what they didn't eat I sent with them. I washed to pan and was done with that.

Ginger~the odor ban is made by zep and I got it from lowes. There are 2 kinds. One is for air and fabrics the other is stronger and kills lots of viruses and bad smells. They are 10$ a gallon and both are awesome. I sprayed my carpet yesterday morning in my living room and when I got off work I went to wal Matt. When I got back last night about 8 I smelled it when I came into the house. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Hello to all I missed.

Hugs

Happy Birthday, Donna, a little bit late, I think! And Jane, yours is really late, but still heartfelt!

Karen31-I can't even read that Rainbow Bridge poem without bawling my eyes out! I keep picturing my 5 doggies waiting there for me, wagging their tails. I'm tearing up just thinking about it.

Kitty - Welcome to the board

Quick Good Morning, Goldens!!

Just about ready to get rolling... I'm glad it's Friday! I'm in the mood for some good gorking!

Thank you all so much for the lovely birthday greetings. I had a WONDERFUL day! The work ladies outdid themselves and made me feel very special (Queen for a Day!). It was fun. I took a picture of my 64-year-old self, and it doesn't look a lot different than the 63-year-old self. Gawd, HOW did that happen??????????????

Bobbi - any news?

Rosey - how ARE you?

Cajun - I'm SO glad OSHA is involved with your son's refinery! What a mess that place is... and I hope his mouth ulcers heal. Stress, you're so right!

Gotta get these old bones moving! Everyone, hope your day is a good one. Newbies, welcome!!

Nope.
Sorry, too tired to chat. I pulled out most of the garden today and I'm pooped. Tomorrow I'll take the carrots, beets and butternut squash.

I 2nd the motion to have a happy week-end. I'm on my way out the door to harvest goodies. Our raspberries are really plump and juicy this crop, but I've been watering the heck out of them due to our drought.

Howdy...It may still be full Summer down here but I want soup. Started this recipe and it tastes soooooo good. Stupid simple, too.

3 10.7 cans of chicken and rice soup
3 cups of chicken broth
1/3 cup of lemon juice
3 egg yolks beaten lightly
1 cooked chicken breast shredded
1Tbs fesh chopped parsley

Simmer 1st 3 items. Temper yolks with some hot mix and then stir into soup stirring constantly. Add shredded chicken. Garnish with parsley.

Less than 200 cals per bowl and smells lovely.... BBL k3
