  • Thanks Gayle, I know how to upload pics from my camera to my computer, so I'll go from there with your instructions. If anybody can screw it up, that would be me. Ha!

I didn't get a darned thing more done yesterday after I made the curtains for the door window as my oldest son came to visit and stayed till 8 PM. By then I was all stiff and settled in to my chair, so I just cleaned up and put my PJ's on and watched TV till 10 PM, then went to bed. My chest muscles were super sore last night and I can't figure out why.
I don't know if I'll do any work today or not. I really should because I wanted to start on the dining room next week. I don't know why I'm in such a hurry. I have the rest of my life, .... however long that may be, but, really, no need to rush. But, I only have the curtains for one window left and the trim around the doors in the kitchen, and I'd kinda like to say, "all done".

For some reason this coffee tastes really good this morning.
    Happy Sunday everyone! ..... Carbie
  • Happy Sunday............below a picture of crew tearing up the yard, what a mess.
They finished yesterday and Bruce seeded in everything, including the large hump in the corner where it looks like a dinosaur is buried. At least it's not noticeable from the road.
Rosey...I don't blame you for not getting another dog yet. When my SIL's dog died, she wouldn't even look at another dog. She felt like she was betraying her lost pet.
We had another showing yesterday, no offers yet. While Bruce was seeding in the yard, I put all our deck furniture away. Then decided to do it all, pulled 2 of the bird baths, everything. I'm not looking for any offers the rest of the year, we're content to stay the winter.
The problem I have with resizing picture is where to put them. After resizing I can't find them, so I put them on my desk top after resizing, then delete them after posting.
Sorry I can't do personals, but I do keep up with everyone.
Carbie...my grandson is looking for a room or cheap apartment in Rochester, he goes to school and works there. Everything is so expensive and he's a poor college kid. DH told him to check out Stewart or byron, hope something pops up. He's driving back and forth from Albert Lea right now, then his car broke down on the interstate. $90.00 tow charge and $400.00 auto mechanic bill. He just can't get a break.
Have a good one girls, will post the new Oct. later today. Yes October already.

  • Hello Goldens!

The race is over and I don't have another one for a month. The comedy night was a blast except I had too much wine and chocolate maybe that's not possible but I sure tried. My ds volunteered to play taxi for us so we could drink without concerns and I sure did. Tee Hee

I visited a friend at another bazar, put in an appearance at a charity car show and did some work. This week starts pool league season and I am looking forward to it Time to get my stroke in line and SMOOOOOTH. LOL It might affect how many posts that I can do because I am gone at least two nights per week - not counting tourneys.

Donna, I did the apples Friday night as I was waiting to cook pepper jelly. I had to get them done as they were starting to go bad. It was quick - I didn't peel them or anything. I just used the apple core/slicer thing and tossed them in the freezer. A few bags I just put in about 2 cups and the others I spread on a cookie sheet to freeze so they don't stick. I have 2 bags of them. So, over the winter I can use them in smoothies and such.... LOL on the energy. I have a lot to get done but today is read, watch football and gork day. We are predicted cold weather this week and I need to get the camper winterized but I am going to be lazy and make some calls tomorrow about having it done for me.... I will pay someone rather than do it myself this first year.

And, Hugs to you Donna for the baby afgans! That is wonderful.

Bobbi, wow, that yard work is extensive. I am sending good thoughts for a buyer.

Carbie, the "LOL womens night of comedy" was associated with the event this weekend. It is a wine, desert and standup comedy night for women only. Lovely. it was kind of spendy - $50 per person but it was a really fun night. I took my mom and aunt, and joined several girls from my work. I hope you find a way to connect with friends.... sometimes you just have to pick a night and go with it.

Karen, what is wrong with the girls?

Karenfl, I wish I was there for shrimp and veggies. LOL sometimes I shudder when I think of the cost of the "free" trout that I bring home. When you consider gas, equipment..... Oh well.... good job on the bridge win!

Rosey, apple pie is my favorite. Your crust looked so good! Sorry that your heart still hurts.

Cajun, I am so glad that ds is doing better. That is really good news!

Gayle, any more monster bugs at your house? Tee Hee

Carol, I never thought about the raw vs cooked veggies. I will have to think about that. I never eat carrots if I can help it.... I hate wasting carbs on something that I don't really like.

Well gotta go.... my ds is cleaning aquarium and needs a little help. Have a great day!

    Rie

  • We went to a wedding yesterday and I did something really really stupid and I want to share. They brought a plate to our table with these little flowerette thingys that I thought were mints and I ate one. It was butter! LOL I felt so stupid. You can dress me up, but you can't take me out! No one saw me do it or they would have really got a good laugh out of it. They had been bringing out all kinds of hors dvors. I never saw fancy butter like that. The wedding was at a country club and I should have known they wouldn't have those little foil wrapped butter pats.
  • Rie - My DIL told me she thinks WW considers all fruit and veggies, cooked or raw, to be unlimited with 0 points. The exception is the starchy veggies like corn and carrots. I like cooked carrots, but no raw ones unless there's dip, which offsets the benefit of eating veggies! LOL
  • Rie, the girls are OK. They had dental work done. Ginger lost a tooth before we went to Colorado and since they had dental month at our vet where you would get 15% off we took them both in to have it done. Ginger had 3 more teeth pulled and Sissy had one tooth pulled. They are doing good today and enjoyed their scrambled eggs for breakfast and then they split a small can of Mighty Dog after we got home today from lunch. I'm sure they would like that every morning for breakfast but I don't even do that for Tim!!! But they seem to be eating good and don't seem to be in too much pain so I will probably give Ginger another dose of the pain med tonight and that should probably do it... we'll see. But they will take all the antibiotics that were sent home with them. Like the vet. said--- it makes them see "pink elephants" in the room!! We'll see how they do tomorrow and if they seem like they need more I have it to give them.
  • October thread is up and running, you're welcome K3
