We just heard from the realtor and the folks that want our place can't get a loan for that much. So we'll just wait until someone does have the money. But I got some good news today, DH landed a job! He wasn't really looking but this is a easy job, riding a lawnmower for the city. It's seasonal and will work until about October, then start back in the spring. I also took my sports car off the market. Too many kooks out there and who can you trust. I'm glad to have my car back and with Bruce working, the insurance on it won't be such a hard ship.

Glad to hear about your car Bobbi! I know you really like it. And good news about the job...a little something to do and that is always nice, he will probably enjoy it. Sorry about the news on your house. Someone will come along with the right combination and then it will all fall into place.. Thanks for the update

It's been a busy day and warm out. I had a routine dental appt...ckup and cleaning. Joe had me cancel as he wanted to go fishing but I want clean teeth for our picture taking tomorrow. Also got my nails done. I wanted color...usually don't get it because of chipping...and they had this new gel kind that supposedly doesn't chip so I got it. Very pretty. Supposed to last two weeks. Yea! if it works I'll be able to get all kinds of pretty colors! I'm not sure whether my hands will show in the pics but polished nails make me feel so girly!

Have done well with my eating today. Actually feels good to be more in control. We are going out to eat tonight so hope I can manage that without too many carbs. The one time I took my bs today it was very high despite my good eating. Not a good sign.

Bobbi - Sorry about the house deal not working out. The job sounds like a good deal if he enjoys it. My bil used to do something like that.

Rosey - Hope Gizmo survives and does well. Poor thing, sounds really painful!

Cajun - Sorry to hear about your son having to stay and the phone issues. But I'm very proud of you for bypassing the Lil Debbie for a yogurt! When I read it I thought...it's true, if you don't give into it, the craving passes...something for me to remember.

You all have a good evening!

Bobbi - it just wasn't meant to be, so keep on going... as you are! Remember the old saying: we are where we're supposed to be! I'm glad your DH has a new job; it sounds like something he'll enjoy and something that's not too strenuous. And, of course, every little bit helps! Good-o!

Hope everyone has a calm tomorrow. Rosey - I hope that Gizmo boy is okay! SamCat sends best wishes.

Cajun - thoughts and prayers for your son!

Everyone - time for bed! Later, lovelies!

Good morning ladies,
I woke up at 330 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep. Not too much going on this weekend. Should be a quiet one. We need to go and open the camp for the hunting season that starts in October. We usually wipe walls and take everything out of the whole camp and clean from ceiling to floors. It's an all weekend job. Dh said it's a little early to go do that. Still too much heat. We are supposed to have a cold front come thru Saturday afternoon. It's going to be nice Sunday. In the mid 80's. Lol that's our cold weather. I'll take it. We may go to the camp and grill hamburgers and go ride 4 wheelers in the woods. We did that's last Sunday after mass but it was so hot. So this Sunday should be nice.

Bobbi~sorry to hear your sale didn't go thru.

Mary~ getting all jazzed up for the pictures. Isn't it always fun to get pampered with hair and nails. Such a treat.

Thanks for all the continued prayers for my ds. Fires and explosions have happened all 3 Fridays that he's been there. Guess it's the reason for waking up and can't go back to sleep. It's Friday. ((((

Hugs

Thanks everyone...I was actually doing the happy dance yesterday. DH will be out of my hair, this 24/7 isn't what it's cracked up to be and I have my car back. It was always here, we just cancelled the full insurance on it and I drove DH's jeep. That's like driving a huge cruise ship.
He worked for the city mowing lawns in the summer between summer college breaks and now that his career is over, he's back mowing the parks around the city. God is good!
Tomorrow DH, DD & DGS are moving Damian back to town with my brothers pickup. I'm going to make my brother a lemon pie now for the pick-up loan. I discovered a fantastic recipe for lemon pudding using buttermilk. Bruce and I can't stop smacking our lips about this recipe. I'll post it later, right now I want to get the pie finished before it gets too hot.
Later gators.

Bobbi - I'm so sorry that the offer didn't come through. In our area, people get pre-approved so they know ahead of time how much they can get and only look at houses in that range. They are probably disappointed, too! LOL at DH getting a job! I tried that with DH and it was no go!

Afternoon all...We had sun showers, thunder boomers and now sunshine. One of those if you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes. And of course hot and humid.

Told you all that I have become addicted to lots of BBC series. Got the 2 movies that Doc Martin was origionally based on. We loved them but the character now as Doc is much much funnier. In the movies he's sweet!!!!! Said I love old and cranky.....

I have been doing the minimum and my knee is a 1000x's better. It lets me know if I do something stupid. Even slept thru the night 2 nights in a row!

I love you all but the idea of going back and doing personnals is overwhelming. Am starting fresh today and will stay caught up I hope. ...maybe...

Can you hear me laughing...Growing up my father insisted on opening every piece of mail "because somebody could send you money." Well just got a pile of junk mail and almost just tossed it, buuuuuutttt had to listen to Daddy and found a real $2 bill in the envelope. That's $2.35 this month.

Has anyone ever grilled endive? I bought one to try tonight. Follow up report will follow. They do them on cooking shows.

Bobbi...Sorry they couldn't submit an offer. But I never can understand how people are always surprised they get turned down on a mortage....we always figured what we could spend and had approval before looking. No mortage payment more than one week's salary. yeah yeah I watch Hgtv and can't believe those mortage payments.....unreal. Lemon pudding/buttermilk...hmmmm sounds good.

Rosey...Dash sends his best wishes for Gismo's toes...he saves his kisses for the ladies.

Cajun...All you can do to take each day as it comes. Just put your head down and get thru this. You know we have all been thru this with our kids and we understand how hard things are sometimes...You have to been strong for everyone else and you need support. We're here.

Gotta go start dinner....let the vegies marinate.....BBL k3

The folks have to be pre-approved around here too, this couple were approved according to the realtor. But after the bank did some digging, they were turned down on this loan. The couple must have been approved for a lower cost home.

We got a call from another realtor this morning, he's bringing out new customers looking for a acreage. We have to pack up Charlie and leave from 6-7:00 pm tonight. I already had a buttermilk pie in the oven when he called, the kitchen smells of cinnamon and nutmeg. We're taking the lemon pie I baked for my brother over tonight while we have to disappear. Maybe she's cut into it and offer us coffee?

Creamy Lemon Pudding (put in baked pie shell for pie)
2 large eggs
1 cup sugar
3 Tablespoon cornstarch
2 Tablespoons flour
2 cups buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
1/3 cup lemon juice, fresh squeezed is best
1/4 cup butter
Whipped Cream
1. Whisk eggs to blend.
2.. In a 2-3 quart pan, mix sugar, cornstarch and flour. Stir in the buttermilk, then set the mixture over med heat and stir often until simmering, 10-12 minutes. (I stir the whole time, sticks otherwise). Continue simmering, stirring 2 minutes longer.
3. Whisk half the buttermilk into the eggs, then return both to pan, along with the lemon peel, lemon juice and butter. Whisk over medium-low heat until pudding reaches 160 degrees or very thickly coats a spoon, 4-6 minutes. do not boil.
4.. spoon into bowl or pie shell and chill. Top with whipped cream.

Bobbi - the good smells coming from your kitchen will SURELY be the piece de resistance for the potential buyers! Good thoughts, good thoughts!! Your recipe looks yummy!

KarenFL - glad that knee is better! I keep forgetting to ask about the horrible dogs and their more-horrible parents... did they all go away?

Good day at work until an alert popped up that I'd been locked out of my computer for viewing animal and/or child pornography (maybe the fat cat wallpaper picture which says "sometimes I wonder if I'm sexy and just don't know it?" is considered animal porn?????). If I'd just send my fine to MoneyPak, I'd be unlocked in 48 hours... hmmmm? I called the IT Idiot (I'm liking him more), and he said it's a bad virus. He rushed right over (in 4 hours) and was still working on it when I left. It wasn't anything I'd done, since I open nothing... but he said some of these popups, when one clicks the x to remove them, open the door to allow the virus entry. It's just so scary anymore...

Otherwise, nada. I'm looking forward to the weekend. So, Happy Saturday, everyone! Onward, lovelies!

Hello Goldens!

Well, I slept for over 8 hours last night. Unheard of for me! It shortened my workout time as little dgs was up and enthusiastic about "helping" me. LOL Oh well.

Today I am going to totally gork and play computer games. I am training at the law enforcement academy on Tuesday and I need to travel on Monday so I need to get my lesson plans revised this weekend.

Bobbi, I am sorry about the house offer but hopefully the new offer will be better. Bruce having a job will be good for both of you. I worry about my folks having 24/7 time when my dad finally retires. That lemon sounds wonderful - almost like lemon curd...

Karen, glad that you are getting along with the knee better. I hope it continues to improve for you.

Rosey, thinking about poor little Gizmo here. I hope he is better.

Donna, I am joining you in the purposeful gorking today, although I will do mine with books and computer games.

Hopefully, I am caught up. Hello to Everyone else!

Hello goldies,
House clean*, patio clean*, clean sheets for company* white chocolate butter bars in the oven* macaroni salad made in refrigerator* fish thawing*
(sorry don't have check sign on I pad). Lol. We are having family and friends over tonight for supper. Waiting on the cold front. I hope it feels good. We are so tired of this heat. Ready for some fall.
Dh and I talked to ds last night for a long time. It was so good to talk to him. He said they had a gas leak and made the workers get away to fix it and check the air. But no fires.
His boss called him yesterday and gave him a large pay raise and promotion. He was very glad for that. Instead of doing the usual exray pipe And welds he will be inspecting them to see if they are welded to specs. It's just another division of NDT. Very proud of my lil boy. Usually it takes about 2 years for a person to become a tech. It took him 1 1/2 years. So he's doing well. When he comes back he will be buying a mobile home and putting it on our land until he can build a house. He's only 20 years old. Well I have a few thing to do. So I'll be back later

Hugs

Well, the pictures are over. It was fairly painless but of course I don't yet know how they looked. I smile quite a lot usually but put me in front of a camera and it's hard for me to smile.

I did pretty well with my diet yesterday until late. I had already posted on the challenge thread, but dh went to bed and I stayed up to finish watching the show on Drew Peterson. I sit down in dh's recliner and the next thing I know I'm eating the cashews he keeps in a can near his chair! So I ended up getting quite a bit more calories, however I did drop back down in weight to 167, so not all the way back to my sig weight bu close. It seems like I just go up and down two or three pounds all the time.

Today we plan to shop for a media table or what ever you call the table under the TV to hold the DVR and DVD player, With our new TV we need one to hide the cables and hold the DVR at least. I'm also thinking about getting a new dishwasher but depends on how much the table costs. May hold off on the dishwasher for a while. It still works some and I can always do dishes by hand ...gasp!!

I'm sad today though because we have a kind of crisis in our family right now. With four children it seems there is always something. I will likely not be online much for a while as we deal with this.

You all have a nice weekend!
