Dee: I'm sorry about your parents. That is hard. My prayers are with you.
Donna: Congrats on the jeans Envious here. No one is evr too old for jeans!
Cajun: What is it about Rainy days and memories? Rained here yesterday as I cleaned up a spare bedroom I want to use as private meditation -Reiki space. As the rain poored I also had my deceased parents on my mind. In the bedroom my son left the huge old leather "Daddy's chair" That belonged to my dad. It's covered in tape-yet all my siblings wanted it when (well the guy's did) Dad passed. DS as oldest grandson close to Dad won out. I had planned on giving away when DS left it-but now I'm just going to cover it and keep the energy.

Hello goldies,
Whst a beautiful cool morning it is. The house is open. Nothing like fresh air going through the house. Curtains are blowing. Fall is my favorite time of year. I went to walmart after work yesterday. I bought next size jeans. They are a little snug but after a few minutes of wearing they will loosen up. I had to buy me more bras and scrubs. I was in 4 x size. Now I'm in xlarge. It's such a good feeling. Not to brag but I'm very proud of me. I did this for me. Can't imagine going back. I will fight with every breathe I have to continue until I reach goal. It will soon be time to start packing for the weekend at the camp. I hope this cool weather holds up for the weekend.
Donna~ hope you enjoy your day off!!!
Ginger~ in my opinion that chair would be priceless and I would keep forever. I had a breakdown the other night about my dad and I told dh this morning. He said I was talking in my sleep about my dad and I can't remember. I would love to dream about him just to see him. My sister dreams all the time but I never do. Ginger sorry to hear about your financial troubles. So many people are in this situation and prices continue to go up. I don't know if they have in where you live but we have it here. It's the water machines you see in parking lots of stores. You can fill up a 3 or 5 fallen water bottles and just pour in picture and refrigerate. Might save you money. Bottled water can get costly. Just a tip for you.
Jess: that's so sweet shopping for and visiting GM. You must be close. I hope my Gkids are always close like they are now. All under 6. I didn't have any myself- well after age 7. No real role model-just loveing attention as much as thier parents and time allow.
Cajun: That's great about the jeans. After reading your post I'm opening windows myself- good idea! It's cool here also. Cool Fall's are so great in La. after brutal summers. I love when we have 70 degree week in January and the rest of nation is shoveling snow- I'm out playing in my garden.
Hi everyone else. We got 2 wks of groceries this wk- I wrote down all the meal's for 2 wks and the calorie counts of each in back of my journal so I'll be able to easily see what's there for me to choose from. I cross off as I go. Also worked up a good budget after yesterday- now I know where we stand.

Yesterday I ran into my half-sister's son. She is 84 and we are not close at all. Partly because of the age difference and mostly because of tension between her and my mother, her step-mother, years ago. There is no bad blood between us, be we don't keep in touch much. It seems that every time I run into her son it is bad news. A couple years he told me she was in the hospital so I went to see her. I don't think she knew who I was. I told her, but they said she has some dementia. When I saw him yesterday, he said she went into the hospital on Sunday and is being given end-of-life treatment. She has shown a little bit of improvement, but that happens sometimes when the end is near. Even though we were not close, I feel bad about this. She is my last living sibling.
Carol sue~ sorry to hear about your half sister. I'm really enjoying being smaller. I was looking at you ticker. We are very similar in height and weight. Our goal is about the same also. That's something I hadn't noticed before. I'm so hoping to reach that goal. It amazes me when I look at my ticker and see how far I've come.
Ginger~ the cool feels awesome after the hot summer we had. There is nothing better than not hearing that air unit. Will love the utility bill too. I agree with you about the snow. Although I like it on occasion, I'm sure it gets to be a pain to deal with.
Afternoon all...just a quick check in after a long boring bridge game. Must be nice to turn the a/c off....I opened the slider for 10 minutes this am ...does that count?
Accidently skipped lunch and now dinner won't happen for another hour plus. So watch yourselves I'm ready to chew off a passing limb.
Watched a Utube of the Aussie Talent Show with a young man Chooka Parker. Check him out....wow....
Carol Sue...so sorry to hear about your half sister.
Cajun...Did I read right and lost a wee bit even with a weekend camping. Go Girl.
Bobbi...I can't even cross my ankles yet. So have findgers crossed (it's h*ll typing). Some reason crossing ankles or twisting them makes my knee explode???? Any word?
Rosie...Did the moose guys make it home okay with all that rain?
Karen...Aren't you going to Colorado soon?
Anybody got a good book? I'm about to start my search again.
Oh, Did you all use Cococa Butter on your tummy when preggie? Well guess what it is even better for age spots, wrinkles and old saggy skin. I bought two jars and finally went online and bought a hugh jar plus after bath oil.I put it on at bed time and scrub it off with my am shower. Skin is getting as soft and smooth as a baby's bottum....hhehehhehehhehe k3
Hello everyone! It has been a nice day here. We had our Bible study-- we are studying "Breaking Free" by Beth Moore! I love her studies! We go to my sisters and watch her videos and then we all go and have lunch somewhere.. Just so totally enjoy it.
I don't have a lot of time right now--- we are leaving in the morning to go to Colorado. I still have quite a bit to do to get things ready. It is 13 hours out there... going to be a long ride. But I will get to see our oldest son and also our grandkids
I will try to get back here later this evening but for now better get a move on. Take care...
Cajun...wonderful news on the smaller jeans, you should be proud of yourself. I'm going the opposite direction. I'm going to pretend it was just gas bloating my stomach NOT. I just lightened up on my calories and I'm back to looser jeans. Maintaining is almost as hard as counting calories. What kind of program are you on? (You maybe said before and I missed it)
Ginger...I love the memories rain brings too, we got to bake cookies when it rained. (we as in 2 sisters and myself). Usually mom didn't want us under her feet in the kitchen but rainy days were special.
The couple that are looking at our house is trying to decide between ours and another one. She likes my shade garden the best, but you can't buy a home on that basis. I think she's quite savvy and waiting for October 15th to arrive before she makes an offer. ( Taxes will be paid by then)
The whole garden is harvested and tilled for spring, we have about 50 butternut squash this season. I'm not going to cook or freeze any of it yet as it keeps really well in our breezeway. Saturday we're suppose to have a hard freeze, where did summer go? K3...I brought in my myer lemon tree, it really grew outside in the sunshine. I'm still cussing out that @#$%$#^ critter that ran off with my only lemon. Hey, where's Marie? She planted a couple of myer lemon trees too, I wonder how her trees are . Hope your knee is better today, does ice help>?
KarenMo...I would love to have Bible studies with my sisters like you, great bonding time. But both mine are older, one never goes to church and the other is another religion than mine.
Carol Sue...sorry about your half sis.
Donna...I like the new picture of Sam Cat.

Cajun- The bad thing about my ticker is that it isn't moving. I was down to 182 about a year ago and I stayed there for about 6 months, but it flew back on after my last surgery in December. I don't know why. I guess the calories snuck back into my diet without my knowing it, and I haven't been exercising as much. Losing is very hard for me. I go down a few pounds then gain them back in a few days. I was going to go to Weight Watchers because my DIL is doing so well with it, but I know what to do and if I set my mind to doing it I will, without paying someone else to weigh me.
Bobbi - About taxes. As I recall from when we sold our old house and bought this one, no matter if the taxes are paid or not, they are prorated at the time of sale. If your house was sold before you paid the taxes you would have been billed for the portion of time you lived in the house. If they are paid, the buyer will be billed for the portion of time they will own the house. So it doesn't really matter if it sells before or after you pay, unless things are done differently in your state. I hope the buyer chooses your house. It sounds so nice from everything you've said. If yours is priced lower than the other one that might be a determining factor.
Karen3 - So are you saying that regular old cocoa butter gets rid of age spots? Or just prevents them from coming? I use something I bought at Target that is for "dark spots" and put it on my hands, but I'm not consistant with it. I try to tell the youngsters that sun screen is very important for your hands because that is where the age spots seem to show up first.
Bobbi~I have never been at goal but I have heard it's even harder than taking it off. That's what scares me. Im not quite there but I can say I never want to go back. The diet I'm on is called dukan diet. It's low carbs sugar fats. Lots of vegetables and proteins. I have totally cut rice bread potatoes out of my diet. Starches were my downfall. Sweets were a killer for me. When I cut out all the starches my cravings for them were gone. I've been on all kinds of diet but this one works for me and it's something I can live with. I cook my own foods. Nothing processed.
Karen31~ enjoy them grandbabies. Have a good time.
Karenfl~it is so nice to have cool weather. Hopefully the next front will go all the way through Florida. we are glad the fronts came early and are keeping the hurricanes out to sea. Yes can you believe I lost 2.5 lbs even though we went camping. We will be camping every weekend until the end of February. It's hunting season. I just have to make up my mind that camping at the camp is the same as being at my house. I have to stay on plan. It's just so hard because we have friends all around us and that's what we do for entertainment after the hunt. Cook and have a beer or two. Sit by the fire. Not to mention roasted chocolate marshmallows. Lol. I will ave to try that cocoa butter. Good tip.
Another beautiful day. It was cool again this morning. Yesterday after work I went and got a new hair cut. I really like it. I'm slowly getting a makeover. It's such fun. My choices of clothes has gotten bigger now that I'm in extra large. There wasn't very many choices at 4x.
Hello to all I missed
Hugs
Cajun
Quick Post....PALMER COCOCA Butter with vitamin E. I first used Walgreen's brand it was okay but the orginal is better. It is fading out the spots, changing the hugh chest scar and even the wrinkles are less....I also have the after shower body oil that I wipe down with and in a month I'm really seeing a difference. I have tried the"fade cream" and it works but is expensive....this is easier and I slather it all over....probably will slide out of bed one night......K3
Hi everyone. sry ive been mia,ive been lurking and reading your posts and celebrating your accomplishments and good thoughts for us who are struggling. ive just been sad and not very chatty. we are having record rain and several rivers are flooding. my moose hunters are coming home today and im sure its going to be an awful trip out.no moose this yr. my wgt has been going up and down. im playing with the same 5# trying to be good but food has always been my comfort zone. hoping your day is full of sunshine rosey
Sorry for your blue day Rosey, but you have good reason. As to your rain, wish we could have some of it. We're still in drought here, so many of my plants have died. 2/3 thirds of my strawberries have dried up, some of my perennials too. We've run our hose most of the summer.
I mentioned to Bruce last night about who pays what taxes if we sell, he didn't know if that applied to Minnesota. We'll find out next time we talk to our realtor. No offer yet.
We're invited to a fall outdoor soup feed tomorrow. We're to bring a pie, so I'm off to make a lemon pie since I have lemons in the frig.
Later gators.
