Ooops!

What is Celibacy?
Celibacy can be a choice in life, or a condition imposed by circumstances.
While attending a Marriage Weekend, Walter and his wife, Ann, listened to the instructor declare, "It is essential that husbands and wives know the things that are important to each other..."
He then addressed the men, 'Can you name and describe your wife's favorite flower?'
Walter leaned over, touched Ann's arm gently, and whispered, 'Gold Medal-All-Purpose, isn't it?'
And thus began Walter's life of celibacy...

Good Morning!
Looks like I'm the first one up this morning.
Isabella...beautiful view you have, I would love to look out my window at something other than corn fields.
Freda...You're right about that, Isabella and I both shovel it down.
I've been mindfully eating since I read that article, but I still finish 1st.
Quote:
I think a lot of us just eat so fast we don't the pleasure from food that we should, that is why we just keep shoveling it down. And by the time we feel full, we're stuffed! So, from now on, mindful eating.
Lynn...That's where I was heading to begin with but with the interstate route I'm taking, San Francisco is 1st. No, not part of the Vitality project. We live out of town in the country, we do all our shopping in Albert lea and we both went to high school there.
Quote:
if you are looking for warmth, we should probably go to Los Angeles or San Diego instead of San Francisco. Are you part of the Vitality Project? I looked it up - sounds GREAT!
.\
Jess...Yes, please join us. It's very interesting to hear of the history, good eating places. Last night I was at Diamond Jo's Casino getting drunk! (on diet coke)
Quote:
I'm becoming very intrigued by the walking journey and will check that out. At the least, I'll provide coffee to those of you passing through Denver!
Zoe...I'm having a senior moment here, what is it you do again?
Quote:
My office is all unpacked, thanks to throwing away most all of my hard copy files. Who needs 'em, right? Everything's on my computer, and if that gets lost, well....I guess I'll just start over! (Actually, my docs here at work are also saved on the "S" drive, which is the network place for saving stuff, from what I understand - and that doesn't amount to much!)

Rosey...now I'm jealous, I want to wear something 'quirky' too. I have a tatoo also, it's on my calf. My daughter was upset when I got it many years ago. We are ex-bikers (Harley Davidson) and every biker need a tatoo!

Time to go down and jump on my new stepper. I don't like it as much as the first one that broke. I could whip off 1000 steps easy in 15 minutes. I've set it on the easiest adjustment and it's still very hard and stiff. Have a great day everyone.

Hello everyone. Bobbi and Lynn I think I mislead you to believe that the pics I posted in the exercise challenge wereof my hometown. Twillingate is about 150-175 kilometres from where I live. We were visiting there this summer. Twillingate looks out into the open ocean but where I live we are sheltered in a large bay. I'll take my camera along some nice sunny day and take pictures of my bay.

Lynn, that menu from Pops made me drool last night when I read every single item. Oh my, not much "diet" food on that menu. The picture of you and your GN was so lovely. So nice to have close family you can share time with.

Zoe, I'm not doing much baking or special cooking this month. But I did put together whipped topping with a very thick chocolate sauce, chopped chocolate covered almonds and chopped butter cookies. Put it in a loaf pan and froze it for a future dessert. I'll serve it with sugared strawberries. Everything was left-overs from Christmas. It's like a mousse. I have a large file of recipes saved on Word Perfect, recipe boxes and cookbooks. I'll never get through every recipe but I do have 3 files. One is RECIPES which I have put tested recipes, the second is Recipes-Vegan, also tested (DS#2 went through a vegan faze and we have vegan friends) and the third is Recipes 2, in which I put new recipes that haven't been tested. As I test the new recipes I copy them to the other two files. The first two files are subdivided by food categories files and then subdivided again as needed. So that's as close to a cookbook as I'm getting.

BTW, I love purple. It is a royal and dignified color for any woman to wear. And I really like red. I looked high and low for a dignified red dress for Christmas but could only find teeny little dresses that I would not allow my teenage daughter to wear if I had a daughter. What's with all this black at Christmas time. All the dresses (when I could even find a dress) were black. I wanted something festive. I did, however, find a lovely red blouse. And I often wear my slippers out in the rain.

Had a great walk today. Really, I ask "Where is our winter?" as it is well above freezing and even though I dressed lightly I thought I'd expire with the heat as I jogged (yes, jogged) the last kilometre home. We should be in the grips of winter and it's just like spring. January and February are our coldest months. Oh, well we could have a blizzard by the end of the week so I'll take advantage of this great weather and walk outside as much as I can while I can.

Take care everyone and I'll catch you later.

Good Morning, All! And, yes, it's SNOWING.... what a shocker that is!

Today was DreadedScaleDay, and I'm showing a 2# loss! If I actually get to keep that, it'll be the lowest I've been in about a hundred years! Pretty cool!

By the way, I'm using Google's Chrome as my browser today, instead of either Internet Explorer or Firefox. So far, so good.... it's fast and things are WORKING! Wonders never cease!

Have to get rolling! Talk to you all tomorrow! Keep walking... I have the coffee on for you! Stay warm...

I have ordered a couple books "Crack the Fat Loss Code" and Conquer the Fat Loss Code" and am excited to get started with it. I've been reading a lot about it and found a thread here on 3fc about it. My books should be here anytime from tomorrow through the 11th and then I plan to read about it and get started on Monday the 18th. It sure sounds like something that is very doable to me.

It is cold here and I am so ready for Spring! I'm hoping, from what people say around here, that I will be able to uncover the pool and let the sun start warming the water in April. I can hardly wait. Hope to be SEVERAL pounds lighter by then!!

Have a great day everyone.

Hi Isabella, what is the 2010 Weight-in Challenge?

Hi Jess, where's that coffee? It's pretty cold walking outside in Eastern PA - I could use something HOT to drink!

Hi Karen, keep us posted on those books. What is different about their recommendations?

Hi Bobbi, beware of ghosts in Fertile, Iowa - see link in our travel post.

Today, I'm meeting my DF for lunch and a movie. Plan to eat salad for lunch & butter-less popcorn at movies.

Check back this evening.

Lynn

Hi Lynn, the 2010 Weigting on Spring is the Biggest Loser Challenge down in the fitness forum. I'm on the blue team.

Bobbi, I just love these sites that give new recipes especially diy mixes. I'll be checking that one out for sure.

Karen, you're just a few months older than I am. My birthday's in May and I know what you mean about just getting used to saying 57.

Another spring-like day here but we're promised snow on Saturday. Our neighbor was riding around on his lawn mower yesterday checking it out I think (not mowing grass). Had another good walk and jog this morning.

Must run. DH is backing the bus up the driveway so must check on dinner.
