40-something weekly weigh-in
So in reading through the threads it seems a lot of people are having the same frustration I am with fluctuating weights. Hopefully if we all check our weights on a weekly basis we will see some progress. I'll start - Friday's my weigh-in day:

natamars - yes, January was tough to get through, although I have had a similar plateau in April/May for a few weeks at 158/159. It's tough to stay motivated during those times, but I am determined to be stubborn and believe the scale will eventually drop if I stick to my plan. I think that seeing the recordings of my weight proves to me that I will eventually lose if I keep holding on. |
I weighed in this morning. I suppose I will record every Sunday weight.

Kelly, that's just what I'm planning to do too - weigh in on Sundays. Things are less hectic in the morning etc. I will probably weigh in during the week just to keep an eye on things, but it'll be unofficial...

KelStand - Sounds like a plan to weigh every Sunday! I think I am more sporadic - some weeks I weigh once and other weeks more than once. Some weeks I am not brave enough to weigh in at all! That's why this accountability thread should help me to bite the bullet and keep tabs on my weight.
Gingermint - Thanks! I know what you mean about keeping things official. It's helpful to write weigh-ins down to keep track. NEMom - Great to see you here! You are doing fine. You'll shed the few extra pounds in no time. LittleBlueCat - Of course! Most of us have been where you are today, so don't feel intimidated. It's great to have you here! Looks like I had a small whoosh this week! I'll take it. Every pound gets me closer to a healthy BMI!

Have not tracked well the last few days, and not enough exercise this week. guac, 3 lbs. in 8 days - WOO-HOO!!!!!!!! LBC, welcome!! 5/19: 186.4 5/28: 185.6 :carrot: I weigh on Fridays. I tend to run and bike and beach on the weekends, and I think by Sunday my muscles are puffy and I'm probably retaining water. Am I the only one who counts 10ths of a pound? I need to! Sometimes that might be all there is! |

Good thing it is only Monday :D We had Mexican for dinner and scale went from 144 to 148.5, yikes. Lots of water weight to pee out before Friday's weigh in. :lol:

Not a good weigh in this moring. Did not think my week/weekend that bad but I guess it was.
5/21 = 161 yikes 5/28 = 158 (mostly water weight, probably 2 lbs at least) 6/4 = 159.6 Ug, I have gained so much from my lowest weight and my clothes are thight. Need to get my rear back in gear. |

NEMom, this part is tough - I think 160 was your old goal, right? Will be hard to get below it, but if you set your mind to it, you can do it. seagirl, hope you're feeling better. I ABSOLUTELY count partial pounds, as you can see - my scale weighs in .2 increments. sum, hope your weigh-in goes well - amazing how much water damage one dinner can do, isn't it? kel, great attitude - hopefully you're headed for a whoosh on Sunday. cbigsis, yes, family visiting was what threw me off last week..when people visit New York they all want pizza and bagels(and no one had to twist my arm). Hope it goes well for you. guac, I'm sure that's not real. Hope your weigh-in today goes well!! |

They all revolve around food and really set me back. It's getting to be that I don't enjoy parties and dinners and lunches with friends and family because they ruin all of my hard work during the week. I am going to a friend's house for dinner tonight too! I don't know - I just feel like I can't diet and have a social life at the same time. |

I, myself, may not do my weekly weigh in the morning. TOM finally arrived in full force and I am sure I have gained a few pounds with bloating! I feel yucky! I will weigh when that part of this lovely week is over! |

As for me...I am really beginning to wonder if it is possible for me to lose and keep losing! I went ahead and weighed today because I just knew I had lost some b/c my clothes are fitting better and my waist is almost an inch smaller! But....no....I GAINED 2 pounds!!!! I don't know if it is my thyroid issues and my meds aren't right or what. I am exercising and watching what I eat.... I am just a little discouraged this week. KelStand - If you kept losing inches and your clothes kept getting looser, would it really matter if the number on the scale stayed exactly the same? Please do not think I am lecturing, I am saying it as much for my benefit as yours.

KelStand - I will say that I have had weeks like yours, where my clothing seemed looser and I felt smaller, but the scale either went up or stayed the same. I think that your body is changing and shrinking, it just sometimes takes awhile for the scale to catch up. I don't have any scientific explanation for this phenomenon, but I think that if we keep eating right and exercising, the scale will eventually show the results.

In the grand scheme of things when it is written out like this I am doing awesome and I need to keep reminding my self of that. |
