Julee - today I wore my fit flops to graduation - parked a mile away, up and down hills - they were awesome. When I went to swim I wore my speedo flip flops - geez what a difference. Well worth the $.
I don't know why but the shopping yesterday really messed with me - last night we hit the Mexican restaurant and I didn't do well at all. Back OP today and a hard core workout in the water - after the graduation walk.
The front gardens are finally done except for mulch. The back gardens are much more extensive and I hope to get more done tomorrow (if the rain stops) and then next weekend do all of the containers. I know I've said it before but my energy, stamina and strength as compared to last year is fantastic.
I'm going to try the orange roughy recipe posted yesterday - I'll let you know.
Carol: woo hoo to size 22 pants! You are doing amazingly well.
Angie: Sorry about the FitFlops not fitting. I have very wide feet so often times things don't fit me either. Well, plus I wear a 10 or 11 size. I did try on some fit flops at Macy's on Thursday but I am too cheap to buy a pair when I am unemployed. lol.
Debbie: I hope you have fun at the movies. I am thinking about going too. There are a few I would like to see but I am leaning between "Forgetting Sarah Silverman" and "Baby Mamma". I know DH would love to see Ironman too. It has great reviews so maybe. lol. Let me know about the one you are seeing. It looks cute. I like both of the leads in it.
Luan: Lol. I am not doing a film. But, If I ever did decide to I will tell them to call you first. Hugs.
Zelma: I did tell him exactly that. I am not comfortable with telling a story that is perhaps only 1/2 finished. It is one thing to speak to people one on one about it but not on video.
Debimitch: Woo hoo on reaching 40 pounds lost! Way to go.
Catherine: Maybe if you just go to the pool and float slowly or move slowly. I know even if I don't feel like swimming when I'm in the water I feel so much better and the stress just leaves my body immediately.
Heather: Don't work too hard. We'll miss you.
Bernice: Thank you for sharing the pics with us. The flowers are sooooo beautiful and the kids look like they are truly having fun.
Cyn: Great job at the YMCA.
Julee: Hope your MIL is on her very best behavior.
We are working on garden boxes so we can get some dirt to ... plant our garden. lol. It is overcast and looks like it may start raining at any minute but not cold. DH sprayed the dandelions in the front yard so hopefully soon it will be more lawn then dandelions.
Annie what size fit you on the fitflops at Macy's? I want to order some when we get back from son's graduation....I just would hate to order the wrong size....in normal flip flops I would wear a 10.......most shoes don't fit across my foot in a 9 but I've been a 9 for a long time....just have to get a 10 for the width of my foot.....so was curious what size fit you?
Anyone else could you share your sizing with fitflops....compared to sneakers or regular flipflops?
DH is BBQ and making shrimp & scallop kabobs!!! Yeah!!! I'm excited
Bernice - I normally wear a 9 1/2 but I tried on both the 9 and 10 in the fit flops - the 10 was too big. Is there somewhere you can try them on before you order online. I did read their web page describing the fit. I am sure I will end up with another pair before long.
I cleaned out one of my dressers today and was able to take about a dozen shirts, shorts and casual pants to my trainers sister. I still need to work through my closet and hope to do that tomorrow. She is now about where I started so maybe it will help her through for a few months. Speaking of my trainer - he told me today I was starting to get a shape - does this mean I'm no longer a blob? I know he meant it well - just being in a swimsuit in a public place and then hearing that always makes me think too much.
Julee-I’m pretty sure I didn’t kill Kennedy since I was still in diapers, but I did once put a kick ball through a stained glass window into the confessional while someone was in there. He exited the building pretty quickly. I have often wondered if he had just confessed adultery or stealing from his boss when the window exploded. It was a total accident. The corner of the church was third base, and I was just trying to put it down the third base line. I had to Murphy oil soap all the pews. I just don’t understand how I could have kicked one of those soft red kick balls hard enough to break a leaded window. When you are known as a practical joker, no one ever believes something like that is an accident.
Annie-The problem with me just floating in the pool, is that I’m more buoyant on the bottom than on the top, and when I try to float, I go catawampus, and end up like a duck with my butt up in the air. I guess I’ll know for sure on Tuesday. That’s our first stadium game of the season. Not football, but soccer. Beckham is coming to town, so we are expecting a full house of people wanting hotdogs and jalapeno smokies. I’m pretty cranky, and looking forward to my first drunk.
DMPLS-I remember when I got one of those pictures in the mail from my sailor in boot camp. I cried too. He looked so skinny. I wanted to send him cookies, but that wasn’t allowed. He looked so grown up too. He left when he was 17, and didn’t even have a driver’s license and had never been on a date. I wrote him a letter every single day, and sent him a postcard on Sunday with a review of the new movies or video games that came out that week. They get kind of isolated from the news. Don’t tell him, but I carry his first stripes around in my bag.
Carol-I have a shape, unfortunately it’s like one of those kid’s punching bags that pops back up. Not so much a pear as a fig.
Okay ladies, I received a donation of the cost of two books. So if anyone of my fat chicks would like to have one, and can’t afford it right now, PM me, and I’ll have them send it out when they get in from the printer this week. First come, first serve.
Today wasn't a great day. I slept horrendously last night. Got groceried purchased, and a little yard work done, but it was cold, WINDY, and rainy. Not great. I took a nap, and am slightly bored now. So, I have eaten about 1000 calories MORE than I should have. I have been slightly dizzy (I am guessing due to my sinus infection.) Why oh why do I do this? I so hope I don't pop over 350 in the next fews days. Tomorrow it's supposed to be nicer, so I really want to accomplish getting the pond up and running, and get a few more plants planted.
I need to get back on plan tomorrow. Less than 2000 calories. And at least 2 hours out in the yard, hopefully more.
Catherine - I have found I prefer to buy shoes at Zappos. I TRULY have a fear of being caught in a drag store. I walked into the store, oddly named Catherine's about 8 years ago. The woman came up to me and said "ummm, we only carry WOMEN'S clothes here." I was so embarrassed, knowing I was indeed a woman. But, I wanted out, as I was humiliated. I am tall (6'2") and very wide (linebacker shoulders). I don't have a very womanly shape, and I tend to keep my hair semi-short. Long story short, I don't want people think I am a guy in drag.
That's about it for now. I am still not over my fitflop jealousy. I shouldn't feel too bad though, one of my brothers wears size 17-18 in shoes. And DH wears 15-16.
The rain stopped long enough this weekend so I could mow the lawn. It's supposed to rain again this evening and on Mother's day.
Speaking of mother's day, I'm wishing all the moms a happy day! It counts if you have fur or feathered kids too
DMPLs, you have a handsome boy there!! My nephew is autistic (medium-ish, but functional). I have a high regard to the teachers that deal with special needs kiddos.
Catherine-I wont tell your son if you don't tell mine.....I've saved all his voice msgs on my cell phone and when I'm missing him I replay them!!! LOL I can't wait till weds!!! We will get some time with him on weds & then the graduation thurs....he flies out on friday for his advanced training....
Ratkity-thank you he is quite handsome! Awwweee I love working with our kids!!! autistic children are awesome!!! We have several different children with autism....I always wish I could break into their world! We try to daily! =)
Angie-I used to love shopping at Catherine’s. They had bigger clothes than Lane Bryant. I’m also built like a line backer. I think I actually have bigger shoulders now than I did when I was a shotputter. Pushing nearly 600 pounds around in a manual wheelchair is really great for the upper body.
Rat-Come mow my lawn,,,,,Please!!! I truly hate mowing, always have, and now that I get paid to do it, I hate it even worse. We get half off our condo fees to shovel snow in winter and mow in summer. I was kind of hoping someone would steal the thing over the winter, but I guess it was kind of hard since the storage building had 3 feet of snow covering it for the last 6 months.
DMPLS-Mine was an Eagle Scout, so he got an extra stripe as soon as he graduated, so he needed me to sew his new ones on before he went to his advanced training. I pocketed some of the ones he had in boot camp. He had dress whites, dress blues, undress white, undress blue, all his work uniforms, and his chef’s uniforms. It was ridiculous. I understand they have simplified their sea bag now, but I think theirs was twice what soldiers or airmen had to buy back then. I was terrified that the airline would lose his bag.
My FitFlops are an 8 and my regular shoes are a 9 1/2 so go figure. The gal at the store toldme to size up and the 10s were humongous as were the 9s. I am wearing mine to walk around an art festival tomorrow...so it should be nice.
Tonight we went bowling with my best friend and her BF. We love doing couples things with them so it was fun. he and I are both pretty bad bowlers but tonight we all bowled well so it was a good time. One of the local lanes as a Saturday night special from 6-8 pm where it's $40 for the 2 hours including shoes for up to 5 people per lane. This could be a regular thing for us.
But then we went to dinner. I was feeling peckish at the bowling alley and I had a soft pretzel...nothing fried so it could have ben worse. For dinner I had a delicious turkey burger on a whole wheat bun....but this place makes their own potato chips and I couldn't stop. Then, sicne they had messed up my order, they gave our table a free brownie sundae. Why I could not stay away from it is beyond me..but it was just beckoning to me...so I guess I ate about 1/3 of the brownie and agoodly portion of the fudge. I am now paying for it dearly as my stomach does not take well to that much sugar. Argh. Tomorrow is another day...
Did I mention that when I was at brinch the other day with a frind that David Hasselhoff came into the restaurant? He is very tall..and looking a little old...but it was him...same smile. Then DH was out and about last weekend and he as at a comic book shop for "free comic book day" and got me an autographed photo from the guy who was the star of "The Greatest American Hero." I'm going to take that to my office I think.
Have a wonderful day tomorrow whatever your plans...
julee- yeah im a little farther south, but maybe we can meet half way. shes gonna be pretty close to me while shes here. i'll pm you my number and we can work it out . and dont hate me, but i play hockey with puppies for pucks... lol KIDDING. that was too funny tho.
Zelma - i have a pretty flexable schedul. and a car, so we can figure it out
Hi there guys and gals - just wanted to share a little something that I know u will understand! We have two dogs, a little jack russell and a 4 month collie puppy. the jack russell is really naughty! She wasn't socialised before we got her and the rest is history. Anyway we have been taking her to doggy training for about 2 months. I normally go with hubby as don't really like going to places where there are new people without him, I guess he is kind of my confidence.
So he couldn't make this session and instead of bottling out and cancelling, I thought I'll go on my own, it'll be fine. So I went armed with clicker, treats, lead etc. It was a really hot day so I wore a summer dress, but one that unfortunately dosen't behave down the front and is always showing a bit more than I would like, but hey it was really hot and I was in a rush so it was that or nothing.
I realised that when me and the other couple (man and wife) were meant to start training the dogs to meet and greet each other that I had no pockets and was going to struggle to control a mad dog on a lead, a clicker and a little container full of doggy treats. the trainer says in front of all of us, I know I've got something that will help, I'll go get it....
I'm thinking straight away, Oh gawd, I bet she means she's got a bum bag/waist bag thing to put the treats in... and seeing as she's a size 10-12 theres NO WAY its going around my waist..... where is hubby when I need him!!!
Anyway, she strides across to me with yes a waist/bum bag and my heart SINKS!! I think to myself 'you'll be lucky' as she hands it to me. But I was quite cool, I just extended it and was so worried that in front of her and two strangers here I am fiddling to attach a bloodysilly bag around my waist and what if I can't do it up???!!! lol
Well lladies, you never guess what, my 30 pounds off must have helped cos it DID UP!!!! Not with much room for manoveure, but it did up, thank the Lord!!
Honestly I was so relieved, even if the sight of me looking all stressed with a sun dress cinched in at the waist with an unattractive bag and my boobs falling out the front was a very strange sight to behold, I refused to feel embarrased and we got on with the dog training!!
Just wanted to share my funny moment with you guys who can appreciate it!!
I am at a standstill weight wise, work became very under staffed and stressful so I have found myself a new job and just started. Now is the time for me to move forward again weight wise.
Well hubby was up at 4 am ...not a good sign! Im afraid he is not going to be able to take the new med. He has a rash on his legs ...he thinks it is from using a different soap.Im not so sure. Guess I will keep an eye on it today and call the dr tommorow.
Kids are coming home for church and dinner today.Yep I get to cook! I am trying a new recipe...chicken enchiladas. I got the fat free cream cheese and sourcream to go in them and the ff cheese. Also the 98% fat free soups. I will let you know how they turn out. I am not counting calories in lunch today but will be back OP for the rest of the day.
Its a gloomy windy day here in KY.I have to spend the afternoon working on laundry...what a way to spend mothers day. I was hoping to get to go and see my mom but I dont think we are going to make it. Guess I will see her in a couple of weeks.
