Annie-If I found out my MIL was coming, I wouldn’t be in a funk, I’d be in a bomb shelter.

Peggy-Isn’t it much nicer going to the doctor when they are excited at your weight loss rather than lecturing you about your weight.

Kayley-I must say that I don’t miss school. Of course considering the amount of alcohol I consumed in college, I probably don’t remember it either.

Donna-If I was itching behind my knees, I’d have to go to the hospital-the psych ward.

Lisa-It may not seem like it now, but it will eventually start to feel better. They are probably right about the weird noise your ankle is making. My body has developed many strange and exotic noises over the years. My husband often asks, “what was that noise?” When I tell him it was my knee or back, he always asks if it hurt, because it sounded horrible.

Missy: I bet Jasmine is a doll doing her tricks!

Lisa: So glad to see you back. We were all wondering about you. When my dad broke his ankle a couple of years ago he was so scared to stand on it even though the DR. said it was fine after it healed because of the popping noise. It should go away or at least get better. Hugs.

Catherine: I kind of felt like that upon hearing she is coming. She got remarried two years ago and her new hubby is a lot strange. It will be a very uncomfortable weekend to say the least. If my dear hubby is uncomfortable around someone it must be bad. lol. He is an all around get along with everyone easy going type. Oh, well, they are both in their 80's so it shouldn't get too rowdy. lol.

I walked really fast with my hubby around our block and it is 1/2 mile exactly plus 1 tenth so I feel so proud of myself right now. Sounds silly but 1/2 mile is a lot for my girth. lol. Hope you are all doing well and being good girls.
Blessings,
annie

Hi everyone! I had a pretty good day today. Low stress at work, went to my calc class, then home to walk the pooch. As soon as I am off here I am going to watch American Idol. Bon Jovi's on tonight, Ammi, just to give you something to look forward to. As for my class, our final is next week so just one more class period for test review and that is it. I know this is weird, but I will miss the class. For one thing I am a math nerd. I love the stuff. Most people in the class hate math. Not me. My brain just seems to work well with math. For me it's like doing fun puzzles rather than work. Yes, I am a huge dork! The other reason is I am still crushing on the prof. After next Tuesday, our pretend love affair will be over.

Nancy - I am glad you have been successful fending off your urges in DD. Now I hope you are able to get to the bottom of what is calling you in there....other than a jelly-filled with sprinkles I mean.

Katt - So sorry about your tough year so far. It really does seem as though you've had more than your fair share.

Ammi - 110 pounds!!!! YAY!!!! I am so glad for you. It doesn't seem that long ago you were struggling at the beginning of your journey but you have gotten past it and have been going gang-busters since then. You inspire me! As for Core, I think most people in my meeting stick with points for the same reasons you mention. I may switch back to points at some time, but for now this is working and driving me less crazy! Plus I feel like I am learning to focus on the healthy stuff instead of trying to figure out how much junk food I can fit in my points budget. I am going to watch AI tonight. When do you guys get to see it over there?

Mechelle - Feel better soon! I have a Gazelle that is rated to 300 pounds. I started using it at 315 without problems. I do like having something at home I can work on out so I'd say go for it if you are interested. There are several of us on here who like to Gazelle.

Cris - This may be TMI in response to your question, but I have heard it said some people when they first start a diet think they are constipated but really they are just going less because they are eating less. Less goes in, less come out. Not to be gross or anything. Not sure if that is the case with you but it's something to consider.

Catherine - The teacher can make all the difference when it comes to math. I took it in high school too and understood it very well. When I got to college and took calculus with the engineers I was lost. I knew I had seen it all before but the way that particular prof taught it it was going over my head. My calc class now is calculus for business majors. I need it to apply for MBA school this fall.

Lisa - Nice to see you posting again. I hope that ankle heals fast. Take care of yourself.

OK, gonna go fix myself an omelette for dinner and watch AI. Take care, everyone.

Hello Ladies!

Nothing real too exciting going on here today. I went to the local Goodwill (thrift shop for those of you outside the US) and found a DVD called 'Fat Burning Kickboxing for Dummies' - I love the idea of kickboxing and since it was only $2, I bought it. Should be fun!

I went walking this afternoon but could only do 4 laps instead of my usual 6, as the sun and temperature was so hot it was making me sick. It got up to about 90 degrees here today, if not more - that's about 30 degrees for you metric folks! So, I'm going to start walking first thing in the morning before the heat gets too bad. And it's only the first of May!

Annie
, was your ortho visit very painful? Good for you for sticking to your plan - I bet you are feeling stronger every day. How rude of that interviewer to be so rude to you! I've only had that happen to me once, just a few months ago, and I still wish I'd said something to the guy at the time.

Michelle, sorry you've been feeling under the weather, but glad to hear you're starting to feel a bit better. Be sure to keep taking care of yourself!

Katt, gosh, you've had such a hard year. My heart goes out to you and your family and I hope the rest of your year is peaceful. Glad to hear the new shop is going well, though. And to you and your daughter for teaming up to get healthy! And I hope it does bring you closer together, it could be a real bonding experience.

Ammi, congrats on the weight loss! You certainly should be happy with yourself! I did send him that Vegas website and he's been referring to it out there. He's with a couple coworkers so they've been hanging out together. I think tomorrow they're going to the Hoover Dam. He'll be back Thursday afternoon, so not much longer.

Kymberly, congrats on fitting into your size 14s!

Peggy, good for you for staying OP! And oh my gosh, I had to laugh at your doctor visit story. Glad to hear you have found a good doctor to support you in your weight loss.

Cris, I don't have any issues with not going to the bathroom, but I've found since cutting out so much grease and fat out of my diet, and eating more veggies and other good stuff, that my stomach doesn't get upset like it used to. (I was thinking that I might have IBS, but I guess it was just my body telling me to eat better) I'm not sure what besides fiber (and maybe prunes?) would help ...

Donna, poison ivy - yikes! I hope it's not a severe case and goes away soon.

Lisa, it sounds as though you are making the best of a bad situation. Try not to worry too much about getting back on liquids, just take it day by day and you will get through this and be a healthier you.

Xena, I'm so impressed with your math brain! That was my worst subject in school - I am much more of a liberal arts type person, hah.

OK, I'm off to read a bit before bed. Have a good night and an even better day tomorrow, ladies!

LOL!!!! That kept me laughing for like 5 mins straight...lol!

Been doing a lot of research on Vegas tonight, and I'm definately psyching myself up for it! Even Andrew is excited about it. He was able to get the week before Christmas off, so we'll be there (if all goes as we're hoping) around December 16th-20th. So, just a few days before our anniversary. (December 24th)

I'm watching a movie, and I'm making a Taco Bell run for Andrew before he gets home..he's had a ROUGH day at work, and I wanna treat him with his favorite, and give him a nice back rub when he gets home at midnight.

Have a great night!

Hi all, we went to a really cool full moon ceremony tonight. I don't have time for personals except to tell Catherine- well a stiff drink never hurt anyone. Your demon (and mine) is food, not alcohol, go for it!!!!!

The big show at the school is tomorrow night. Wish Scarlet luck. I have been OP still. Not much exercise though. I will try this weekend.

Have a great rest of your week.

I'm annoyed--I just had a big post typed up, and I lost it. I just went to delete something, but I must have clicked my mouse outside of the text frame, so when I hit the backspace key, it sent my browser back to the last page Suffice it to say, I'm VERY tired and have not been sleeping well at all this week. I'm feeling a bit anxious about becoming a PartyLite consultant--I'm not sure it's really for me, but I can't seem to find any other part-time job that doesn't have set hours (i.e., I don't want to work anywhere where I have to be there for certain set hours on certain days--I would much prefer a telecommuting position, but I can't find one). Selling candles via home parties is not exactly my passion, but I really want some extra money. I looked into selling Pampered Chef instead, but you have to pay to become a consultant with them, whereas PartyLite gives you your starter kit for free as long as you host a show with $350 or more in sales.

Anyway, enough about that. I'm insanely tired, but I have been eating a bit better lately. I was RAVENOUS this morning, and I stopped at the grocery store for breakfast and a snack to have at work. My mind was set on honeybuns, glazed donuts, snack cakes, candy, and potato chips (I have been CRAVING chips like no one's business lately--I'm not usually a big chip eater, so not sure what's up with that), but I walked out with just a container of fresh sliced apples, a container of low-fat 100% whole-wheat blueberry muffins, a box of 100-calorie bags of Cool Ranch Doritos, and a 3 Musketeers bar. I had 1 muffin (4 in the pack) and will set the others in the kitchen for whoever else in the office to grab. I put the apples in the fridge for later (to have with my organic no-salt-added peanut butter that I keep at my desk). I ate half og the candy bar and threw the other half away (and had chosen a 3 Musketeers bar in the first place because it's much lower in fat and calories than my real favorites--Butterfingers and Reese's ). I haven't had any of the Doritos yet, but I'm thinking right now that I will put all but 1 100-calorie bag in the kitchen up for grabs as well. To sum it all up, I feel that I was really READY and WANTING to binge this morning, but I've been able to turn it around, and that makes me quite proud

Hey everyone-

I am up early here. I am starting to feel better with my allergies/cold whatever it is! Other than getting better nothing else going on. I hope all of you have a good day.

DONNA~I am so sorry you got poison ivy!! I have had that before and I know how painful it can be. I hope you can get rid of it soon. Seems like you are under a lot of stress right now. I hope things get better soon.

LILION~I would love to have a little garden. That will be so nice when you grow your own veggies!

CATHERINE~I never had allergies in Louisiana or in Alaska. I think its for sure something here. Thank you so much for telling me about the honey. I showed DH what you said and we will try it soon. Thanks again. Good luck with getting ready with your party. The food you are making for the party sounds really good!

PEGGY~Sounds like your Dr. visit went great. That is so crazy about her reading the scale wrong. I think I would have passed out if the scale said I gained 50 pounds! My blood pressure would have been up!

KAYLEY~Hope you do well on the final!

ANNIE~Thanks I hope to get rid of this cold soon. I hope them adjusting your braces doesn't hurt! And that is a great NSV about not getting any fast food when you brought your DH lunch. I really have a hard time resisting fast food!

LISA~I hope your ankle continues to heal. Sorry you have a cold! Get well soon!

EVILAH~

XENA~Good luck on your final! Thanks for your info on the Gazelle. I am pretty sure we will get one. Its worth a try!

LESLEY~Thanks! Oh I remember that southern heat! Do you guys have high humidity as well? We have that back in Louisiana and it was always so miserable in the summer. Walking in the morning sounds like a good idea. Don't get to hot down there!

BLISS~Welcome back!

JILL~I hope you can figure out the job stuff. And I hope you get some good sleep soon! WTG on resisting the binge. That can be really hard to do if you are stressed and not getting sleep! That is a great NSV!

OK well I need to go take more cold medicine. Good luck everyone with staying OP today!

Hey Kaylee - About Vegas....word of advice. Take a dedicated amount of gambling money and make sure it's the amount you can afford to LOSE! My DH and I took $50 each, per day in gambling money. Each day I took my $50 to the casino and when it was gone, it was gone and the gambling for the day was done. Truthfully, I kind of broke even - but DH once lost his $50 in less than 1/2 hour at a $5 blackjack table. In the end we came home with money. It's the ONLY way to not get in trouble if you are going to gamble.

Even hanging the washing out makes me wheezy & out of breath. Sorry for the moaning!!!lol

Thanks, Xena and Lesley...I kind of figured all those things you both mentioned were coming into play, but I like getting other opinions! ('Cause sometimes, very rarely, I am wrong...LOL!)

The kiddos are home early today which is going to be good for me. DD wants to rearrange her bedroom so I will be moving my body and staying too busy to wander into the kitchen for a snack! Wanted to pop in and say a quick hello to everyone before we get started though!

Evilah: Welcome. Jump right in and tell us about you or if you see something you'd like to comment on jump in. We love new people!

Xena: Did you enjoy IDOL last night. I really did. I think they all did well except one person. (keeping it quiet until Ammi gets to watch)

Lesley: The ortho is really hurting this time, thanks for asking. If I wasn't already having liquids I think I may be just because my teeth are moving around. lol. You still did great on the walking! I can't wait to be able to walk like that.

Blissful: Welcome back. Sorry you haven't lost weight but you are in the best place for inspiration and encouragement.

Jilly: I'm proud of you and the choices you made to eat. I used to sell Pampered Chef and I made a ton of money on it until there was a UPS strike. That was a nightmare. lol. I have been to one Partylite show and I love the tea light candles. If you do sell it and have a website where we can buy from you let me know. I'd love to buy something from you if I can. Hugs. oh, I love peanut butter cups too and I just got a recipe for a treat that supposedly tastes like them if you want to try it. It seems pretty easy and they are 80 cal. each. 1 container of coolwhip, 1/2 Cup crunchy all natural peanunt butter and 2 oz. of hershey choc. syrup. Line 12 muffin pan with foil liners. combine peanut butter and 1 cup of cool whip whisk until blended, fold in the rest of the cool whip and choc. syrup. Spoon into the muffin pans and freeze. They are 80 cal each 3 grams of fat, 10 carbs and 2 gram of protein. I haven't tried them yet and I say YET. lol. Hope if you try them for a treat they are delic.

Michelle: Maybe you have alergies hon. Everything is blooming like crazy rightn now. It took me a couple of years to get used to the different types of trees/flowers that IDaho has/Washington where you are too, compared to CA. A tip that helped me is purchase some honey made locally. The bees working around here make the honey from flowers and trees around here and it really helped me to have a teaspoon daily for a while. I know it is fattning but it sure worked for me.

Sharon: Hugs. I can imagine if you nibble here or there it is hard to stop and go back to your liquids. My DH was eating some chedder cheese last night which is one of my favs. and I was wanting a piece in the worst way. I didn't but I think if I eat I will be like a run away train. lol. Feel better soon and a size 16 no matter how you got it zipped up is AWESOME!

Ammi: where are you my friend? How'd the gym go?

VAL, Patti, Zelma, where are all you chickies? WE miss you.

Blessing to you all,
Annie
