Musicalastronaut - I think it's very doable especially if your taller sister is 145! I'm also 5'7" and my goal is 140 but I'm kind of thinking of going down to 135 so that with fluctuations I would still be under my original goal weight. But I've also thought about maybe stopping at 145. I guess I'll just have to wait and see how I feel after losing another 17 lbs. I'm pretty much the only girl in my family besides my mom who is shorter but larger than me so I don't have a good reference since I've been overweight most of my life. Good luck! :)

supergir111 01-13-2012 03:23 PM

~Hello challengers! Happy Friday :)

I've set myself a mini challenge to lose 10 lbs by feb 12th which is the date of my mini trip. The challenge is really one to stay on plan for a month straight really rather than losing a specific weight but it's exciting to think that I could reach it, doing well so far.

lobon 01-13-2012 06:13 PM

hey all! I've updated my info. Can you bump me from the standby to active? Thanks and good luck everyone!

lifehouseluver 01-14-2012 12:07 AM

Hi everyone! I joined today too! It was so mad, well "good mad" because I was sitting here yesterday night reading the thread going "hmmm I should do this" and then I was like, "ugghhh what if I fail..."

But then today I was like, you know what? i'll join! Well, you know how we're supposed to use the weight that we signed up for the challenge and not your overall starting weight? Well, I got on the scale this morning and I lost a pound! I was like, NOOO if I signed up yesterday, I could have put 149 and then felt good about myself today by putting in a 148 on week 2!

Haha, oh well. Hopefully that gives me more motivation to have a lower number for week 3.

I guess this was a not-so-bad problem to have. lol

Best of luck to everyone!!! :-)

darlingbrit 01-14-2012 02:50 AM

Thanks Ladies,

I'm trying to enjoy it but I'm having a hard time with clothes so I have a dress that's kind of a one- trick pony :/ I kind of feel like its how the dress fits me that makes it look so good

I'm super nervous, I have an interview at the local naval base in a couple of hours and it's for a cake decorating position! I want to be a pastry chef in the long run but I'm kind of nervous as to how this will effect my diet.

I think I should be fine as long as I have enough snacks, right?

aleksandra 01-14-2012 01:31 PM

i do my weigh-ins on fridays, so i've put in my weight. i've finally started dropping weight! :) (and also, it feels really good to be back on plan with planning my meals in advance and so on - it really helps me to stay away from unhealthy snacks and sweets!)

Veela 01-14-2012 03:19 PM

Hi all I just joined this challenge. I have already set myself a personal goal of being comfortable in a bikini by the July 1st weekend (I am Canadian) so that I can hang out down at the waterfront in my hometown and feel that I look awesome!

My weight loss goal is flexible because I plan on gaining muscle and losing weight so we will see how much I weigh when I feel I look bikini ready and that will then mean my goal has been reached.

I need to lose 15-20lbs for health reasons and all the rest are vanity pounds. I am really hoping I can stick with it this time and lose all the weight I am more motivated than I have ever been in the past and I think this challenge will keep me accountable!

TiredOfMySize 01-14-2012 03:29 PM

Riestrella:
I think (hope) i jumped on the spreadsheet and am part of the challenge. What a great idea and motivating opportunity for us all, to work towards a common goal-thank you so much!

I would really like to join fitocracy.com but apparently you need to have an invite code. Do any of the posters here who mentioned it have an invite code I could use? It seems right up my alley.

I do, just send me a private message with your email address and I'll send you an invite.

If anyone else wants an invite then private message me your email address also.

Buutastic 01-14-2012 04:44 PM

Veela, you reminded me...I too would really like an invite for fitocracy.com. I've never used it before and would love to try it out!!!

Veela 01-14-2012 04:48 PM

I actually searched on line and found some other forum that linked to an invite code and it actually worked I am not all signed up and excited to log my activities! But thanks for the offer I am so impatient I couldn't resist.

baker23 01-14-2012 05:03 PM

"pastry chef in the long run but I'm kind of nervous as to how this will effect my diet."

darlingbrit- Good luck on your interview :) I lost all my weight as a pastry cook. Once your around that many sweet things, you lose your appetite for them xD

Paja 01-14-2012 09:43 PM

Hey all, just an update to keep myself accountable-

I drove two hours today to go to my favorite restaurant in the world. I made the conscious decision to go, get what I want, and go back to working hard and being healthy as soon as I got home. I had a healthy breakfast, and then had my big meal in the mid-afternoon. It was enough food to satisfy me for lunch and dinner, so that's it for me today. (It was probably enough calories to count for two days of eating; good thing I'm not going to worry about it.) I feel a little guilty, but I'm trying to let it go.

Big hike planned tomorrow; hopefully that will help make up some of the ground I lost today before weigh-in next week.

Symmetry 01-14-2012 11:56 PM

Hey, just coming to say that I won't be weighing in tomorrow. I've been.. pretty much sabotaging myself the last week, woke up this morning realizing that (not too bad, but definitely not being good either). It's because.. well, life. That 'I fear being thin' reared its ugly, bloated, fat, sneaky head again. :(

I shall definitely weigh in again next week, good luck girls! (Oh, I should be weighing in Thursday though, I might enter my weight then)

supergir111 01-15-2012 04:29 AM

meh, stayed the same this week :( Good luck with everyone else's weigh ins!

I find it's better to stay accountable and not hide what progress you're making - good or bad. There have been times where I have gained, where I have stalled, and sometimes I even want to make up a weight to look like I'm still making progress. But I don't, you have to be honest with yourself and accept your mistakes and get the support of others. Hiding away and bottling up your fears will only make it all worse. Start working through your fears of being thin - what are they exactly? Perhaps we can all help.

Song of Surly 01-15-2012 09:01 AM

I think I've lost two pounds this week. Or three. Or none. My scale is really frustrating me. A two pound loss is what t it said most of the time, but I might wait until I can buy a good digital scale in the next day or so before I submit my weight to the spreadsheet. I hope that's okay. I don't even know if the darn thing has my base weight right.

kimmyskelter 01-15-2012 09:16 AM

i AM MOST DEFINITELY IN. YAAAY. mY TRIP TO riu IS IN JULY IN jAMAICA....CANT WAIT. ADD ME PPL. OH ILL LOCK THAT I MUST WEIGH EVERY SUNDAY IN MY CALENDAR! GOOD LUCK U SEXY BEASTS........MWAAH!

FeelinIt 01-15-2012 01:41 PM

So I was thinking, maybe week 4 we can have a POWER WEEK!!!! Where we really really try our hardest to stay on plan, try not to slip, stay accountable, and we'll see what kind of overall results we can all accomplish!!! What do you think Riestrella?? Anybody??

Haha, I like the idea of themed weeks, it would have to work like the 90 day exercise challenge where we set our goals then come back and re-post our progress. Good idea =)

lisa4621 01-15-2012 03:47 PM

So, I went back to the gym this Tues after a week and a bit off as I'd injured my knees (prob overdoing it). Tues and Weds I took it easy and was feeling positive about working out again. I slipped in the bath on Thursday and I have broken my wrist :-(

At the moment it is really painful just sat around. I have no enthusiasm for exercise and moving my arm at all hurts. I lost 1lb which is less than I wanted but still a loss. I am going to spend next week trying to get to grips with the food side of things. I havent eating particularly well as I have been moping and feeling sorry for myself. I am hoping the pain will subside next week and then I am going to go walking more until I am back at the gym.

lilypad91 01-15-2012 04:09 PM

i love the idea of themed weeks makes it so much more exciting and keeps the interest going in the challenge :D
lisa4621 hope you are feeling better soon! dont give up hope ive broken my leg before and its painful! but dont give up if you carry on with your healthy eating think how awesome its going to feel when your leg is healed. hugs from everyone

I hope that's what the case will be! hahahaha

as for these themed weeks... I like that! maybe we could have weeks where you have an emphasis on cardio, or zumba, or weights, or pilates?

I am so sore this week :[ I haven't had a day off but I went off plan for dinner last night and I am kicking myself. I think I should go into the gym, but I do need a day off :/ I guess I'll keep going and then rest on wednesday or something...

crazygurl61 01-15-2012 08:49 PM

Hi everyone! My progress is going slow but steady. I figure it is not a race but any progress is progress.

As another way to keep my mind occupied, I have started selling things on
eBay- fun and 0 calories!

MusicalAstronaut 01-15-2012 11:33 PM

Gah, I missed my running yesterday and today. :( I've gotta make up for it tomorrow! *power mode*

Riestrella 01-16-2012 05:43 AM

Here are the week 2 stats!

Aware has taken the top spot for both the overall chart and the weekly chart with a massive 7 lb loss this week!
But whitelikechalk's consistency with losing the pounds over the 2 weeks have earned her enough points to take the lead in the challenge.

By the end of the week there were 116 people listed on the spreadsheet, meaning we had 14 newcomers to the challenge!
I have had to move 19 people to the stand by list, meaning 31 people in total have dropped out so far.
There are now 97 people remaining in the challenge!

Ugh. I'm having issues. Since graduation & the breakup with he who must not be named, I've been going out with family and friends a lot. I'm trying to still eat healthy but it's hard. And I don't want to turn down my friends who I haven't seen in forever either. Like today. I'm going to see a movie with an old roommate and she was like "let's do lunch too!". I think I'm going to text her and let her know I'll come to lunch but I'll be eating at home and not at the restaurant. I want to get lunch with her so we can talk, though. So that's sort of taken care of. And tonight I'm doing trivia with friends downtown at one of my favorite places. My ex and I went out very rarely (he's the sit at home and play videogames for 12 hours straight kind of guy) but this is the place we would go when we went out. So I want to go to work on making new memories there. But it's a burger place and I'm sure if I eat anything there it's going to be 1500 calories. Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Why can't these places just make healthy food?!

Also, Lisa, I hope you feel better! I've never broken a bone but I bet it hurt a ton. :/

Tiny Tiger 01-16-2012 09:14 AM

131 today! This is the first week I can report a loss... finally! Still need to get below my starting weight (129). That's my goal this week.

Congrats to everyone on all your hard work! Keep it up!

RebaRamBam 01-16-2012 10:58 AM

I got some points this week! Yay! I like this point system a lot it was a great idea riestrella! :)

I was doing really well this week (down 1.2 lbs)... until I went to a brewery with some friends on Saturday and had about 4 beers. :/ I was expecting my weight to be high for a few days but I'm still higher than last week's weigh in. Tomorrow is my weigh in day so hopefully I'll drop a lot of water weight today.

tdiprincess 01-16-2012 11:22 AM

Hey there! I just joined up! I'm excited to be part of this once again and get movin'! :carrot:

My goal is to get to 140. I think I'll be able to as long as I stay focused!
Thanks for doing this challenge!!!

ma26 01-16-2012 12:03 PM

Had a kinda bad weekend. Tracked all my calories and wasn't too crazy high, but I wasn't eating the best foods. I am glad I choose wednesday as my weigh in day rather than monday! I ate plenty of salty stuff and while I definately didnt over eat to the point of gaining weight, I was up a lb on the scale. Lots of water and healthier choices, I should have an accurate weigh in on wednesday!

ma26 01-16-2012 12:10 PM

Riestrella- Why am I moved from the chart? I only joined last wednesday and my first weigh in hasnt come yet. I shouldn't be on standby should I? I am weighing on wednesdays and My starting weight was last weeks weigh in, and on wednesday of this week I will have the second weigh in. Please move me back to the chart.

Thanks :)

I think there's also a time difference thing...it's still Monday morning here and I haven't gotten out of bed to the scale yet...

baker23 01-16-2012 01:00 PM

Had a bad few days. Didn't really keep track of what I was eating, and I went a bit overboard. Payed for it when the scale said 192 again this morning -.- Back on plan as of this morning and about to head to the gym for a workout. No touching the scale for daily weighing this week.

CaliforniaDreamer 01-16-2012 02:13 PM

Lost 2 lbs last week, I wasn't really paying attention to what I ate so I expected to lose around 1-2 lbs. Oh well, I'll do better this week.

darlingbrit 01-16-2012 03:57 PM

-____-

I have been sore all last week and I went off plan yesterday and saturday night.

NEVER AGAIN. I am going to be proactive in this and be 100% against my saboteurs. Which is pretty much my mom. It's horribly upsetting that she can't back me up and she talks smack about my weight loss whenever she can.

I hope she understands that I'm doing this not only to be healthy, but to make her stop being rude about me being fat in the first place.

I gained .6 this past week, but I'd like to think I gained alot of muscle being that I was super sore all week. I hope I see a big drop next week, or some more slimming in the icky zones.

On plan today, drinking protein shakes, little to no carbs, I am being super hard on myself because I need to be so I am pulling 2 a days as much as I can this week.

How is everyone else doing?

ferretgirl 01-16-2012 05:38 PM

Just joined today! I like long-term challenges, especially since that's my goal every year- to get bikini ready, hehe!

Hope I did my name and lbs right on the spreadsheet (added myself to the bottom of pg 1). I have my weekly weigh-ins for this month on another thread, but just added todays' to the sheet.

Wish everybody luck!!

kimmyskelter 01-16-2012 07:18 PM

glad to see everyone is still motivated. good luck ppl.

Riestrella 01-16-2012 08:46 PM

ma & crazygurl - As I'm sure you can understand, there are more than 100 people in this challenge, I simply can't keep up with who is new and who isn't. Obviously it's a bit late now, but your starting weight and your weekly weight should have been the same. All I saw was 2 blank weigh ins and moved you to the standby.

I also live in the UK, so I am ahead of you. Monday morning to me should be the middle of the night to most people, so I think it's plenty of time.

Keep in mind weeks run from Monday - Sunday, not Monday - Monday. The start date of each week is at the top of the spreadsheet.

Going to post this again so everyone can see and I know people are lazy!
