Congrats Kryzstyling!!! I am SOOOO proud of all of your hard work and dedication. I can finally say i'm out of the 150s as well. Your pictures make me realize how much I need to stop complaining seeing as this is day 11 of my diet and you have been dieting for almost a year!
I feel so bad for my boyfriend and coworkers. For almost 2 weeks now the only thing i've been able to do is talk about my diet and how much pain I am in. Fighting sugar cravings and weekend indulgences are the hardest things for me.
BUT I am quite excited because I weighed in at 148.0 yesterday. I am worried though that losing 6 lbs in less than 2 weeks is too much. I don't want to lose muscle mass, and I have a feeling that most of this weight lost is water and muscle mass. :-/
Perhaps I can afford to have a little more wiggle room in a days worth of food? Any advice I can have towards nutrition and an appropriate amount of calories would be MUCH appreciated.
I currently eat anywhere from 1500-1700 calories a day. I am eating about 100-110 grams of protein a day, and all of the carbohydrates I eat are complex carbohydrates such as fiber bars, and nut/grain breads. During the day, i'm eating about every 2 hours but by bedtime I find myself literally going to sleep hungry - not craving, hungry. Is this normal and something I should get used to? Should I have a small snack before bed (something like 1 cup of skim milk?)? Like I said, any advice would be MUCH appreciated.
Audri!! Welcome love!! I'm so excited that we are in the same thread again! =) Get it girl!
Lifehouse, haha! Yes, 11 days...whew! I wish I could've been 158 11 days in! LOL But truly I wouldn't give up what I learned these last 11 months for ANYTHING. Every day has been a learning experience, one where I've learned great habits that not only help me but will someday help my children.
You are doing GREAT and after week 3, I truly find it becomes more habit. You may have some moments where you want or crave something but you'll get through em. =) Congrats on doing SO great already! Also - I wouldn't worry about the 6 pounds in two weeks. Heck, when I first started I lost almost 7 lbs in my first week and another 4 the following week. Given, I was much heavier than you, but water weight is water weight and you should take it and run with it! Just keep doing strength training and your muscle mass should stay pretty much in tact. Not that you may not lose some, it's only logical when losing weight, but you won't lose too much as long as you're doing weights!
I just got out of the 160's, it seemed like if I was stuck there forever! My weigh in is tomorrow so hopefully I've lost another 2 pounds I hope. Any tips from you wonderful ladies so that I get to my 140's soon? Basically, I'm asking what did you guys amp up another notch to get out of these horrible plateaus?
I appologize, I meant the early stages of a loving relationship. Not that it wasn't love. Me and my husband have been married 6 years (im 26, he's 29)and we fondly think of the early days and laugh at all the things we used to do to try to impress each other! Lol! Hearing about all the sweet things people do together just makes me gush
Wow, your exercise is killer! Good job!
LOL no need to apologize! Yeah I totally get what your saying... early love! We are newlyweds, just tied the knot on July 9th. Wow almost a month already!

Done rambling Thanks guys!
If you don't mind me asking, How tall are you? That really has a lot to do with your calorie intake, I'm 5' 3" and my calorie intake is 1200 a day. I of course lower it a little bit more so I can have some cheat time (cheat time as in if I'm way to tired, rain, and other stuff too :P) with my workouts.
So I popped back up to 159.6 yesterday and am holding steady there today. Trying to stay positive on the whole thing. Monday I was at 161.8, so it's significantly lower and I need to be happy with that.
I finally decided to push my running routine on Sunday. I didn't realize I had been running the same distance for 6 wks straight! Granted I have been getting faster at it, but still! I tacked on an extra .25miles to each run for a total of 2.25 miles. I did it again this a.m. and like it. Yay!
On the downside though, my calves are getting bigger! weird. Oh well, maybe I'll lose some weight now! I've been stuck for awhile. I'm with xNani and need advice for busting plateaus!
Hey guys!!! Hope everyone is doing well this week!!! Yesterday I began week 3 of my diet. My cravings are still WRETCHED, but i'm trying to be patient because I keep telling myself I can't undo years of eating poorly in 3 weeks. lol
I was STOKED to see 147.0 on the scale yesterday morning!!!
Thank you Kryzstyling for the words of encouragement! It truly makes me feel better. I strength train twice a week. Perhaps I should add a third day in?
and xNani, I am 5'4 and I'm currently eating anywhere from 1500-1700 calories a day. 1500 on days I don't work out, 1700 on days I do workout. MyFitnessPal tells me I should be eating 1200 when I don't exercise, but I think I'd stroke out if I ate that few calories a day! I know as I lose weight i'll probably have to cut calories as my weight decreases, so as long as i'm not plateauing, I might try to stay around 1500-1700, BUT if you have any advice/suggestions/experience, please share it with me! Like I said, any advice is much appreciated
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll lose 2 more lbs on my next weigh in. I'll probably scream when I see 145.0 on the scale. BAHHHHH

Sorry for the crazy redundancy (sp?) there... fail lol

I definitely suggest adding a day of strength training to make it 3x a week. The best advice I can give you right now is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
If what you're doing is working for you, no need to change it...YET. At the first sign of a plateau, start incorporating other things. Such as HIIT and eventually you are going to have to lower your calories most likely. But if you don't have to, all the more power to you! On days I work out, I eat around 1600 cals, (and sometimes even 2000 depending on the work out), on days I don't work out, I eat around 1200-1350. It just depends on how clean I have eaten that day.
