Can't help but be disappointed. Two weeks of rockin it and I gained back the one pound I lost from last week. What the heck is going on here.
I'm not going to give up though! So I'm switching it up this week. No lunch time walks in this crazy heat, strength still 3x a week in the AM and bumping up the cardio from home to gym in the evenings. Hello old friend, going to rock it on the eliptical for 500 calories 6x this week.
Hi ladies! I'm new to this thread, although I was a regular on the Calorie Counters forums a couple years back, the FIRST time I lost these damn 20 lbs... which i slowly gained back.
About 14 of them are gone again now, but I'm at 157.2 this morning and would LOVE to be in the 140s by my wedding on October 8th, so I think this is the spot for me. (I'm also doing 12 weeks to takeoff, hoping to keep myself from gaining during the honeymoon! )
Hey, ladies! I'm finally able to pop over on this board! This week I lost 2.6 pounds, down to 158.4! Yippee!
Now that I'm so close to my goal, I'm rethinking it. Has this happened to anyone else? I started out feeling like I had SUCH a long way to go that now that it's only 8.4 pounds away, I think Well, maybe you should make it 145 instead. I suppose I'll wait until I actually make it to goal and then decide.
I'm also currently waiting until I get to goal before I reevaluate. I keep thinking I should make it 135 now that I'm less than 20 pounds away, but I want to see what I look like at 140.
Wow I havent been on here in a while but I just wanted to share some great news.....I finally broke through!! Weighed in this morning at 148.2!!! Oh my goodness last time I weighed that I was 14 (11 years ago!) But seriously have been stuck at 153-150 since MARCH of this year. I couldn't believe the scale this morning, had to get on and off of it 3 times
SJtangerines - I have the same problem when I get to the lower end of any decade, but some are faster to break through than others. Hang in there )
coldbrightday - congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Im so impressed with your drive to lose some weight before the wedding, when I got married last year everything went out the window (I didnt gain but didnt lose either, but excercise sure was on the backburner). I bet you're going to look so stunning in your gown. Where are you headed for the honeymoon?
sontaikle - I loved it when my waist made a re-appearance too (probably my favorite part of weight loss); especially when I saw my hip bones it was like oohhh lya lya You're making great progress.
KatieC87 - Im definitely re-evaluating when I get to my "goal". We're actually the same height and at this point I think Im going to lower my goal to probably 130 or so. Kinda scary to think that I can weigh so little when I wasn't even that small as a teenager. Eeek!!
hi all, ive been on and off these boards for almost 2 years now. thinking it has been that long makes me sad i am still not at my goal weight. i got to 130 once doing the hcg diet, but once i started eating more than 500 calories i went back up. somehow i've managed to get back to 159!! i haven't been going back and forth and really have stuggled. this month i'm going to be 26 and think i really need to get back on the healthy living track and stay consistent. these boards always helped me stay on track so i am back. i would like to get to the 140s by the end of the month, i know some of this is water weight from eating bad over the weekend. hope being here will keep me on track again.
Lilly -- Thanks! I'm actually about to go try on my gown now and see how it looks... I don't actually remember what I weighed when I bought it... a little more than I do now but a little less than my max. I remember it being a bit snug so hopefully it'll be perfect.
And we're going to Hawaii, spending 10 days on the big island, but not until a month after the wedding. Need time to relax and get some non-wedding work done first, since none of that seems to be happening right now!
Hit 153.4 this morning... feeling confident about breaking out of the 150's before too long!
Welll I've been away for awhile do the fact that I was binging and gained a whopping 14 pounds..it comes on ALOT quicker than you lose it..BOOO--I can't sit around being depressed about it so today was day one on the wagon!! 145.6 this morning was my weigh in! Hopefully I can drop down to the 130's quickly.
Welcome back JL! I'm back too! Although I'm just stuck around the same weight as when I stopped chatting. I'm starting to wonder if I can ever get below 144. Sucky suck.
Hey folks... I have a little dilemma and I'd like to take an informal survey and ask for advice. As I mentioned above, I'm getting married (a month from tomorrow) and have been working to get back to the lower end of my customary weight range, if not a bit lower than that, in time for the big day. So far it's going according to plan. And although my ultimate goal is another few lbs below my wedding goal, which is a few pounds below where I currently am, I feel pretty darned hot right now, which is awesome, and something that hadn't happened in awhile.
So here's the dilemma -- I tried on my dress yesterday (which was juuust slightly snug when I bought it, and I THINK I was 5-8 lbs heavier than I am now at that point), and it's loose. Not horribly loose, but I have to puff up my chest a tiny bit to fill out the bust/hold it up. It looks pretty great right now, as it shows off my collarbones, stomach, and shoulders, and kind of obscures my hips/thighs, which are my main bugaboo and reason for wanting to continue losing weight in the first place.
So it looks good now, but if I lose another 5+ lbs, I can tell it's going to be TOO loose. As I see it, I have 3 options:
1. Keep trucking on the weight loss, and get the dress taken in. Because of the construction, this isn't a trivial task, and might be expensive, and I'm trying to keep to a pretty strict budget. Plus I'd worry that it wouldn't look as good after alteration. But I'd be skinnier!
2. Liberalize the calories a bit, keep exercising, but stop (or slow down) the loss and focus on weightlifting to get some nice arm definition.
3. Slow down the loss a LITTLE, and get a padded strapless bra that will fill out the places that I'm not filling out on my own anymore. The waist will still be loose but I think it's ok.
