September Exercise Challenge
Fall is almost upon us, and with that only comes Halloween and the holiday season!
I'm pledging to do 25/30 days of work outs in September. Sept 1: Running - 20 minutes, Elliptical - 15 minutes, ball crunches & Stretching Sept 2: Rest Sept 3: Running with some walking - 56 minutes. Weighted crunches/ 3 sets of 10 assisted dips Sept 4: Stairmaster 60 minutes, ball crunches, push ups, lunges & side lunges Sept 5: Spinning, 1 hour Sept 6: Stair master - 30 minutes, Elliptical - 30 minutes, ball crunches Sept 7: Running - 30 minutes, Bike - 10 minutes, Stair master 15 minutes, push ups, ball crunches Sept 8: Stairmaster - 30 minutes, Arm pedal - 20 minutes, lunges, side lunges, ball crunches Sept 9: Rest Sept 10: 30 minutes running, 25 minutes stairmaster Sept 11: Kayaking - 3 hours Sept 12: Spinning - 45 minutes Sept 13: Rest (TOM is a b*tch) Sept 14: Running - 45 minutes, Stairmaster - 15 minutes, ball crunches Sept 15: Stairmaster - 30 minutes, Arm Pedal - 15 minutes, ball crunches, push ups Sept 16: Rest Sept 17: Running 65 minutes (4.8 miles), ball crunches, push ups Sept 18: Spinning 45 minutes, weighted crunches Sept 19: Hiking - 13.5 miles Sept 20: Rest Sept 21: Stair master - 40 minutes, Arm Pedal - 20 minutes Sept 22: Running - 30 minutes, Stairmaster - 30 minutes, push ups, crunches Sept 23: Stairmaster - 45 minutes Sept 24: Rest Sept 25: Concert dancing Sept 26: Running - 60 minutes (4.25 miles), walking 25 minutes (1.75 miles), push ups, crunches Sept 27: Stairmaster - 25 minutes, Elliptical - 25 minutes, dips and weighted crunches Sept 28: Running - 25 minutes, Stairmaster - 20 minutes, Arm Pedal - 20 minutes, crunches, lunges Sept 29: Got my butt kicked by a cold virus Sept 30: Spinning - 45 minutes So I did 24 out of 30, thanks to an unexpected cold. But still!!! |
I'm planning on attempting to work out while I'm out of town, but I really don't know what the schedule is like or anything. I would like to shoot for 25/30, but if I can't workout for those 4 days, that cuts me kinda close if things come up during the rest of the month.

My goal is to continue C25K, progressing in the program 3 days a week and doing W1's program the alternate 2 days/week for a total of 5 days a week.
**Edit: C25K is starting to get pretty tough. I might not bother with the alternate days. We'll see how I feel on the morning after my progression days lol I'm also hoping to sign up for 2 new fitness classes at my school and work some muscles 3 days a week.. OMG I MADE IT PAST DROPOUT WEEK ...also 1 hr horse riding 9/14: C25K W1, wow this run is getting easy & 1 hr 15 min yoga 9/15: C25K W5 D1...zomg. Never ever saw myself running for over 2 mins before. OFFICIAL WI: -0.8 lbs 9/16: Off day 9/17: Off day 9/18: C25K W5 D2! pretended I was racing the girl on the next treadmill. I kicked her butt. lol 9/19: Off day 9/20: C25K W5 D3 :cheer: 20 minutes non stop!! & 1 hr horse riding 9/21: 1 hr 15 min yoga, 1 hr hip hop 9/22: Off day OFFICIAL WI: +1.0 lbs... perhaps it was all of those off days... 9/23: C25K W6 D1! finally broke the 2 mile barrier today 9/24: 9/25: 9/26: 9/27: 9/28: 9/29: OFFICIAL WI: 9/30: END OF MONTH RESULTS: |

Goals-- Getting back to my fitness level from last year when I was able to...
A) Exercise at least 5 times a week, one of which being a class at the gym B) Consume an average of 1200-1500 calories/day for the week C) Drink 6-8 cups of water a day Starting weight 8/29 from BL challenge: 151.0 Week 1. 148.8 lbs, Avg 1130 cals, exercised daily, avg 3.25 water/day 9/1/10: 1480 cal, Mountain hiking for 3.5 hours, strength (Upper body), 6 glasses water 9/2/10: 840 cal, Zumba Class 50 min, 1 water (too much caf free diet coke) 9/3/10: 1080 cal, 30 min elliptical, 4 water 9/4/10: 1120 cal, 30 min elliptical, 2 water and some diet caf free sodas Week 2. 147.0 lbs 9/5/10: 1338 cal, 30 min elliptical, 3 water 9/6/10: 2175 cals (eeek...), 30 minute walk, 30 minute elliptical, 6 water 9/7/10: 1580 cals (eeek again!), 30 minute walk, 15 min elliptical 9/8/10: ~1500 cals (not doing good this week), 2 hrs walking slowish at the zoo. Edit: HA! 30 min elliptical. Done! 9/9/10: 1015 cals, 3 water, 30 min walk, 1 hour Zumba Class, 1 hour Yoga Class 9/10/10: ~1400 cals (1244 estimation + leeway for bad estimation), 6 water, 30 min walk, 30 min elliptical. Note: Chinese food, lots of sodium. 9/11/10: 1355 cal, 4 water, 30 min elliptical Week 3. 146.0 lbs 9/12/10: Today did not happen. 9/13/10: 1780 cals, no exercise. TOM. Not feeling good. |
My goal is at least 30 minutes of cardio exercise a day. And 3 days a week strength training.
My pledge is, yes, even on the busy days! I don't want to start making excuses. I can give up 30 minutes of something everyday to exercise. 9/1: 30 minute circuit strength, 60 minutes zumba 9/2: 100 minutes belly dancing, 60 minutes zumba 9/3: 60 minutes zumba 9/4: 2 hour 43 minutes half marathon time! then a 2 mile walk home :) 9/5: 1 hour walk |
I'm going to do 20 days this month, same goal as last month, except this time I WILL complete the challenge. At least 30 minutes per day (unless I do 20min Turbo Jam haha). Focus more on some strength training and being aware of my general fitness!
